Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Beautiful Hotel in a Beautiful Land"
This hotel is an absolute haven. Mrauk U is an incredible destination but can leave the traveller feeling a little worn, dusty and disorientated. The Mrauk U Princess Resort provides a calm, orderly and natural space to gather your thoughts and feel gently pampered. The food is very good and given the difficulties in sourcing ingredients such as wheat and coffee, provides an almost miraculous feat of delivering crispy, fresh croissants for breakfast every morning (make sure your come after 7.20am when they come out of the oven) with excellent coffee. Local food is also good, with delicious soup noodles for breakfast, and good salads and curries at night. The rooms are large and comfortable. I had a very small accident, entirely my own fault, but the hotel staff were responsive and professional, providing very good, simple but thorough medical care. One of the more remarkable experiences was hearing the wealth of sounds through the night as the environment is very natural and not subjected to the chemical exposure that many tropical resorts use. The result is a nighttime symphony of frogs, crickets, and cicadas.Flower Island Resort: "Amazing"
"This island is staggering. We arrived on the boat to a millionaires welcome, we were blown away and the only guests on the island, ill never have this again in my life. Make sure you do the pearl lunch trip it was fab. Also sleep in the lighthouse, we stopped on the 5th floor to witness the sunrise, ill never forget our stay here."Rachamankha: "Superb hotel"
Built in the style of an colonial residence, beautifully laid out, lovely rooms, super-helpful service - loved it. Lovely pool to hang out by. Restaurant was superb (and not too expensive). Would stay here again!Kenanga Hotel: "Stunning"
We only had two nights in Ubud at the end of our two week Bali holiday but I wish we had longer at Kenanga. What a beautiful peaceful hotel. Amazing rooms, helpful staff and such a nice private location. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to go back.Villa Song: "Exciding high expectations"
"This is no ordinary 5-star rating and I will soon tell you how this hotel succeeded in exciding my high expectations. It all started at the airport where I was patiently waiting to be picked up by a prearranged car that would take me to my hotel. After quite some time I decided to call the hotel to check where my transport was. When giving the hotel my reservation number, I was informed that they had not received my booking and that they were not expecting me until the following month. I suddenly realized that I had made a terrible mistake with dates, and simply booked a room once month prior to my actual arrival. To my great luck, Villa Song where able to help me out and arranged a very nice room for my week-long stay. They also quickly arranged a pick up for me. I was prepared this mistake would cost me dearly, but to my great surprise I was charged the same amount. That’s 5-star service in my book! Thank you! Now, a few things about this lovely hotel; It is a little bit outside the center of town, but it only takes about 15 minutes to get there. The hotel offers a free boat transport that leaves conveniently just outside the premises several times from morning to evening. The staff is very attenuative and make sure you feel at home during your stay. They have a great pool and the food at the restaurant is fantastic and reasonably priced. There is a nice-looking spa, but I never had the chance to try it out. There is also a small gym next to the pool with all the things you need to stay in great shape. If I would mention one thing that could be improved, that would be to give the guests a way to decide whether they want their towels in the room replaced or not. Considering the environmental impact from all the washing, I believe this to be a fair way to save some water and energy. Many hotels offer replacement simply by asking their guests to leave the towels on the floor if they need washing. Thank you for a lovely stay. I can’t wait to visit you again."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Barefoot-luxury at it’s finest!"
"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge is an intimate boutique hotel that values personalised experience, above all. It's an institution of tailored adventures and hospitality in Nepal. If only the walls at Tiger Mountain could speak, it'll be of stories within stories of individuals who have been and wrote countless books and tales about Nepal's beauty and serenity. Hands down, the best view from a hotel in Pokhara. Wake up for sunrise and encounter a parallel universe beyond anything you've ever imagined. Truly, a must experience. There is magic in this sanctuary of tranquility that is so healing; it brought me closer to nature, most of all, to myself. The food is exquisite, the simplicity of everything makes moments seem like a painting. If you are looking to book, don't think twice. Spend at least 3 days here, you can thank me later. The staff at TM are the best! It's like walking into a family. I didn't feel like a stranger, it didn't feel like a lodge at all. It was like coming home. Very best, Mr. Raven"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Beautiful"
"Hotel was surrounded by beautiful and impressive nature. The food was very good (in a such remote place I was not expecting this level). The manager and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer a boat tour to a very beautiful waterfall longer up the river. And if you want, you can take the kayak back. Worked very well with transfers from/to other hotels."Samanea Beach Resort: "top class"
wonderful piece of paradise in the delightful kep. yes, it's further out of town and a bit of a schlep to get in to the crab market, but it's worth it for the tranquility of the location and the beauty of the private beach and jetty. you can watch crab fishing and wildlife from your sun lounger and the grounds are superbly kept. junior suite was well worth the splurge for our honeymoon- the outdoor bathroom was magical. professional and unobtrusive service to top it off, and a great value happy hour. we will be back!Nimmu House: "best place to acclimatise and enjoy the natural beauty of Ladakh"
"http://blog.happy-tripping.com/2015/09/06/property-review-nimmu-house-ladakh/ Nimmu house is a beautiful place, replete with apricot and apple trees is just perfect to acclimatise to the high altitude either by traversing the journey to Ladakh on road ( from Srinagar or Manali) or to stay put for couple of days at a quite place, while soaking in the stark beauty of the wonder that is Ladakh. THE SETTING The location is perfect. Conveniently located 30 minutes from Leh (30 min from the airport) , the village of Nimmu is also close to the ,confluence (Sangam) of the Indus and Zanskar rivers and the monasteries of Lamayuru, Likir and Alchi (30 minutes – 1 hour drive). Nimmu is a charming little village where time has stood still, most people are farmers and happy with their simple lives. IMG_0133 Nimmu House is a noble house belonging to the cousin of Ladakh’s King from the early 90s, beautifully restored by a Frenchman Alex . During the property tour , our manager told us about the history and the supposed curse on the house due to which the occupants never bore any children, until the curse was dispelled by buddhist monks. Quite interesting! On offer are 5 spacious tents and 2 rooms in the house , with an open terrace for meals .We stayed in the tent, which had a stunning view of the landscape , comfy bed and modern bathroom . For city dwellers like us the best part is that the property is spread over orchards with hundreds of Apple and apricot trees and the rivulet running through . Lying on the large hammocks ,smelling the sweet scent of apricot and hearing the faint constant gurgling sounds of the stream makes you put all the sightseeing plans on hold. But really who needs to step out when you can experience the nature , warm Ladakhi hospitality in absolute peace and comfort of Nimmu house . IMG_3901_1 THE SERVICE There is no formal reception desk , but the staff is always available to make your stay comfortable. This place is serviced by one chef, one french manager and two local women. We received a very warm welcome by the French manager followed by 2 days of comfort and lot of personal attention. There is so much warmth in people that you forget about demanding any hospitality. We wanted to sample momos at one of the local restaurants on our evening walk and we were not carrying any money. To our pleasant surprise, a plate of steaming momos were served to us during dinner in Nimmu House, courtesy the local restaurant. Even as we were leaving , staff come out to see us off . It was almost like staying with family . THE FOOD Chef Mahesh cooked simple , delicious meals which were served on the open terraces as the weather was lovely. Breakfast had eggs, fruits and bread, as per preference. We loved the fresh apricot jams and juices. Lunch and dinner were 3 course set meals with starter (soup /salad), main course and desert. Sample this :- – Green Salad, Lasagna, Lemon Pie – Tomato Soup, Hakka Noodles, Philadelphia Cheese Cake – Gobi Soup, Paneer Masala/ Mutton Masala, Mud Cake All meals are simple and wholesome, using fresh produce from adjoining farms and stables. The food is largely tailored to suit the western palate as most guests are westerners. But they will keep your food preferences in mind and ensure that you leave the dining table with your tummy satisfied ! Lunch at Nimmu House Lunch at Nimmu House THE FACILITIES and Activities ON OFFER Nimmu House offers the following activities to make most of your stay there . Indoor: A library and game room , Guided tour of the house , stables or cooking classes . Outdoor: village tour , short guided hike , rafting on the Zanskar, guided tour of the monasteries of Basgo, Likir and Alchi. For us it was all soaking up the apple-scented air, lying on a hammock during daytime and hiking upto local gompas in the evening. View from the Gompa View from the Nimmu village Gompa WHAT STOLE THE SHOW? Amazing setting of orchards and Ladakh’s landscape with spacious tents. Best place to acclimatise , relax and learn about Ladakhi culture. It is a far cry from dusty lanes of Leh City and will give you exactly what you came for. "Cuca is a fine dining experience. I highly recommend the Chef's Plate (degustation). Each serving is exquisite: both visually stunning and a wonderful balance of different textures and flavours. Treat yourself and enjoy a fine dining experience for a fraction of the price it would cost in your home country."
