Villa Song: "Beautiful boutique hotel"
"This hotel is an old french colonial building on the banks of the Mekong river in District 2. The rooms are beautiful. By circumstance, we had the opportunity to experience three different rooms in the hotel. The Riverview rooms have a better view, but are noisier with the restaurant below. The garden/pool side rooms are quiet and the view of the garden is lovely, but beyond that into the distance it's just a neighbourhood view which is nothing special. The restaurant serves excellent food - I was actually surprised how wonderful everything we ate there was. There is a free shuttle boat into the city, which is a nice perk."Sandat Glamping Tents: "HEAVEN in ubud"
stayed here for 3 nights, and could have stayed for 3 months. loved sleeping in the middle of the rice paddies outside of ubud. the staff was very welcoming and the decor was incredible. highly highly recommend! The Hue House: "Áwesome dining experience"
super delicious foods, beautiful rooftop settings, lovely attentive staff... a wonderful luncheon experience... Will definitely be back!Maison Polanka: "Spoil yourself"
"This place was top notch. It was beautiful and quiet and the rooms were perfect. But what makes it top notch was all of the detail and the way the staff anticipate your needs. For example, we mentioned we might take their free bicycles into town so when we later left our room we noticed they had set out two bikes but also put cold water and a map in the baskets for us. You can book drivers/tuk tuks/guides through the hotel for temple visits and they always sent water and cold towels with the drivers- much appreciated in that heat! The hotel food was the best we had in the city. There are only five rooms so it feels personal but still offers plenty of privacy. The pool is the perfect place to hang out in the hot afternoons (or any time) and the entire compound makes you feel like you are in an oasis. The staff could not have been friendlier or more thorough. This place was worth every penny. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Lombok: "Paradise!"
We stayed here for 6 nights in December and had the best time of our lives. This place is amazing! The hotel and it's grounds are so beautiful. We stayed in one of the Amempang rooms and it was so luxurious and absolutely huge. I've never been anywhere like this before- it's absolute paradise. The staff are exceptional and all so happy, friendly, welcoming and eager to go the extra mile for you. My boyfriend proposed to me while we were here, and because he'd let them know what he was planning they set us up a private dinner in one of the beds on the beach and had it all decorated for us. When we went back to our room they had decorated that for us too! They had made animal arrangements out of the towels, lit candles in the bathroom and filled up the bath with water and flowers. They made our whole stay so special I can't thank them enough. We are coming back for our honeymoon!4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Floating luxury"
"This highly unusual hotel consists of 12 luxury tents, actually floating on the river and surrounded by nature The tents are very spacious. Many of their ""walls"" can be rolled up to provide panoramic top-to-floor ""windows"" consisting of mosquito-proof netting if you prefer a view to privacy. Each tent has a private veranda with loungers and direct access to the river. There is a nice sitting area, several fans that can be adjusted to your own comfort, a DVD player (and a choice of DVDs from the reception) and rain coats (which unfortunately we needed). The bathroom has a barrel shower, which we thought was fun. Breakfast is served à la carte and staff was extremely flexible to adapt to special wishes and changes. For dinner, there was a choice of set meals, but equally a large à la carte menu. The lodge offers a variety of excursions against payment (boat trip to the waterfall, canoeing in the mangroves and visiting a local school, hikes in the rainforest, sunset cruise) as well as a short free boat trip to see the fireflies after dusk. We were unlucky with the weather, as it was raining all afternoons and thus we were not able to do the canoeing or the sunset cruise. We experienced great hospitality and particularly appreciated that management was permanently around, actively engaging with the guests and supporting all staff. There is no wifi apart from an emergency access via the phone of the manager. We stayed for 4 nights."Jing’s Residence: "Somewhere different with old style class"
A different location, a relatively small, old walled city and accomodation to match. The only downside would be Pingyoa has too many shops selling virtually identical goods! The city wall is well worth a walk around.Supanniga Eating Room: "Excellent food and great service."
We had some really different and interesting dishes at this restaurant with the unrepeatable name for westerners. The Isan cuisine from northeast thailand has some really unique flavours and is distinct from most of the food you'll have tasted in standard Thai restaurants. The prices are high for the area but still a bargain. Service was excellent and the obligatory sticky rice with mango was delicious. Without any alcohol we spent 1,700 baht on mains and a shared pudding and some fancy fresh fruit drinks. Highly recommended.Tandjung Sari: "Lovely experience"
"Our stay at Tandjung Sari was wonderful We were looked after very well by the beautiful staff at this special Hotel. Our room was perfect, with a comfortable bed and an delightful outdoor shower. Breakfast each morning was very good with enough options to have something different each day. If you are looking for a place on a beautiful beach to unwind, relax and be completely spoiled then this is the place for you. Tandjung Sari is so much more than a hotel. We will be back!"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Nourishing for body and soul"
We stayed for 10 nights which included 2 nights on the local backwaters on the hotel owned boat - The Lotus. The whole stay was amazingly relaxing and the time on the boat was the most peaceful and comfortable 2 days I have ever spent. There are only 18 very comfortable cabins Either facing the garden or the stunning, endless sandy beach. The staff are all amazing and well trained and so helpful from morning bed tea till the end of a delicious supper. Mainly Indian food ( fine by us) eaten in one of 2 restaurants-one on beach and the other in a cool vaulted traditional structure in the garden. Also serving as a bar and library. Excellent ayerverdic treatments, free daily yoga and various excursions including bird watching from a canoe. Open air bathrooms lovely but watch out for frogs. Excellent tailor on site and have a cookery lesson with Deepak the chef. Everything fairly expensive but done extremely well. Good for individual travellers.
