Muang La Lodge: "A piece of heaven in the middle of nowhere"

Review by: Vicky U | Source: Trip Advisor
"After a rough first week of travelling and very cold weather, we were thrilled to spend a couple of nights here. Gorgeous room, with HEATERS and hot water bottles, tastefully decorated, lovely bathrooms, with home grown bathsalts. The setting is delightful, on the river, and the infinity pool on its own island was a good place to unwind with a book when the sun comes out. All the little hidey holes have access to drinks and snacks and service is never far away. The spa itself, with the two huge hot spring-fed pools are elevated so you have a view of the surrounding countryside and are a panacea for weary limbs, and the massage sets you up for the next part of the journey! The five course dinner is light and carefully crafted, full of flavour, and the cocktails inventive and yummy. Little braziers kept us warm while we ate, and a large boma-type fireplace was comforting for an aperitif. We had a long walk on our free day round the local Khamu village, and enjoyed seeing village life at a slow pace, the pace it is lived. Excursions can be arranged to nearby hill tribes, but we didn't know about that. Even though the local staff dont speak much English it is good to see the management trying to give back other local community by providing jobs and an enhanced local spa for the village. I can't rate this place highly enough "

Sea Dance Resort: "excellent"

Review by: OliverPerkins | Source: Trip Advisor
It's rare to be compelled to write a review before leaving a property but in terms of value for money, service, food and atmosphere Sea Resort really deserves immediate praise. When you know the names of the staff, and they yours, within hours of settling in you know you are on to a winner. If you enjoy great breakfasts, beach front dinners, chilled out family friendly boutique style digs then I reckon this could be right up your street. On an Island that is , sometimes, decidedly hit and miss in terms of the Quality/Cost/Service ratio Sea dance delivers on all three. Thanks Poy. Helen, Kent and Faith and Staff. You are legends!!

Dewakan: "Amazing culinary experience"

Review by: Lee S | Source: Trip Advisor
We have such lovely dining experience there and feel really proud to have such good quality fine dining in Malaysia. We love how they tweaked the local ingredients in every single dish they served even for the cake we separately ordered for our friend (we were there for birthday celebration). The cake was so beautifully presented and the birthday girl was very happy and satisfied with the cake (jackfruit with creamcheese) and of course the entire dinner.

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Peaceful and serene!"

Review by: ChaosTraveller | Source: Trip Advisor
"Neeleswar hermitage takes you to a different era. Free from anything unnatural like plastics and preservatives, the resort is indeed like a hermitage and gives you a much needed stress buster getaway! Rooms : The rooms are spacious and clean and an incense fragrance. The bathroom is as big as the room with a huge bath-tub (I guess not all rooms have a bath tub) with an open roof! The staff offers evening cleaning service where they come in and light a lamp and pull down the drapes and clean the room so that you have a peaceful sleep! Food : The downside was the sea food restaurant was closed due to the rains and we had only one of the restaurant to cater to us. However the food is just awesome! They have only a limited dishes on the menu, but are mouth watering delicious. They also obliged to serve us something off the menu (since my little daughter insisted for it). Hats off to the chef to bring in so much flavor in the simple local dishes. There is no buffet spread but if you appreciate good food and are ok to explore local cuisines, the chef wont disappoint you! Hotel surroundings and activities : The rooms overlook the beach and has a good verandah to sit and gaze into the waves. The beach is not a private one (open to the locals around) but is clean and managed well with security around. The infinity pool is really good is cleaned daily. There is a good view of the beach from the pool and one can spend hours just lazing in the pool. The resort offers spa and ayurvedic therapy with doctors consultation. There are few indoor games and library. There are hammocks and chairs laid out in several spots to just lay back and enjoy nature."

Samanea Beach Resort: "Girls Trip in Cambodia"

Review by: goadkimberly | Source: Trip Advisor
Beautiful, secluded resort. The hospitality and atmosphere is beyond expectations. We arrived in early afternoon to welcoming arms and were escorted to our villa. We enjoyed the delicious lunch and partook in 2 for 1 drinks at happy hour. When the bar tender discovered I preferred Bacardi Rum to what they offered, he went to a market and purchased it for my next drink! Unbelievable people! The servers gladly held our second round of drinks for after we returned from dinner. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and kind. The outdoor bath and shower were a perfect ending to serene and peaceful day.

Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Great accomodation"

Review by: Massfoto | Source: Trip Advisor
"Michael and staff are very kind and went through great detail to take care of my stay in Thailand. Arnold accomodated my taxing to Chaing Mai and was always on time. Excellent villa with a delicious breakfast served. The pool is refreshing and the wonderful classical music being played made my stay so relaxing. I will definitely book there again upon my return. Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"

Hotel Tugu Bali: "A slice of Balinese paradise"

Review by: Ross C | Source: Trip Advisor
Bali is quickly being taken up by new large resorts and modern villas, they of course have their place and their charms. If however you are looking for a true slice of Balinese paradise look no further than Tugu in Canguu. An amazing stay in a truly beautiful hotel, authentic Balinese architecture, furniture, decorations and landscaping. Their breakfast menu was superb, we could not get through it all in the four days we were there. Their cocktail menu was fantastic and lounging by their pool was bliss. The location in the middle of up and coming Canguu area is excellent located for stopping off at some of the more quieter beaches and should you wish a more chilled beach club to have fun in, The Lawn is only a few minutes’ walk away. The staff, led by Ari and Jenny were some of the most genuine, friendly and attentive I have ever experienced. My family and I were so impressed. I couldn’t recommend this hotel any more - believe all the other five-star reviews before this one and trust the many others that will follow.

Hotel Tugu Bali: "Dinner and a show"

Review by: Sara M | Source: Trip Advisor
Thursday night cultural show was very lovely (you should make a reservation, but they nicely accommodated us). Very reasonably priced dinner, also very delicious. The music was lovely, and so were the dancers. Great way to spend a Thursday evening!

Chakrabongse Villas: "The perfect oasis in the heart of Old Bangkok"

Review by: heyjessnyc | Source: Trip Advisor
I have used tripadvisor to plan trips for years, but our magical time at the Chakrabongse Villas has finally inspired me to write a review of my own. We could not have found a more perfect place to spend the final 3 days of a 2 week trip to SE Asia. Atom, the manager, and her staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful in making our stay in Bangkok so special, and upgraded us to the Garden View Suite, which was lovely. Tucked away in beautiful, lush gardens right on the banks of the Chao Praya river and directly across from Wat Pho and a short distance to the Grand Palace, the Chakrabongse Villas, is truly a hidden gem. Being in the heart of Old Bangkok meant that we could return to the hotel for a quick dip in the gorgeous pool to cool off from the infamous Bangkok heat before heading out for the next excursion. I highly recommend arranging to have dinner at the Chakrabongse Villas for an unforgettable experience - the dinner we had with a private table set up on the terrace right next to the river was the most romantic, and one of the most delicious, we've ever had (the owner is a descendant of the Thai kings Rama IV & V so the dishes are from the Royal Family's own recipes). We also enjoyed our tour of Bangkok's canals in the Chakrabongse Villa's own long tail boat. If you are looking for the perfect boutique hotel that offers a peaceful, historical oasis in hectic and hot Bangkok, then I cannot recommend Chakrabongse Villas highly enough. Thank you, Atom, for helping to make our stay so extraordinary.
