Went with my husband for a week end escape. The old villa has been restored magnificently. Pool is perfect. We had a room overlooking the river, with spectacular furniture, classic charm and attention to detail, beautifully renovated. Truly an escape. The location on the river away from the main city is perfect, very quiet and peaceful, fantastic to watch passing boats over breakfast overlooking river. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was perhaps less impressive, not a great selection. Wine was however very good. "This is a fantastic experience. The tents are clean and well equipped. The food is authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and was among the best we had on our trip. Meals are communal and the staff are excellent at creating a sociable and welcoming atmosphere. Our guide was Danu. His passion for wildlife was very infectious and he answered all our questions knowledgeably and patiently. We visited quiet and remote areas of the park and had an excellent leopard sighting. Although some might feel the place is too dark and is haunted, my husband and I however loved the quaint interior at the Tugu Lombok. Every piece of furniture or wall carving has been carefully chosen to decorate this hotel. The service was beyond excellent and they had an array of bespoke activities to choose from. Loved this hotel - rooms are very large and generous (and like the fact that there is no TV), the pool area is the perfect place to relax, staff went out of their way to be super helpful. Views of the ocean are magical. The local indian food was very good, but Western options not up to the same standard (including at breakfast). The real highlight of staying here was going out for the night on the river boat in the backwaters. Super romantic, a really special experience. "Me and my friend got stuck in Samui because of a monsoon, and made a quick decision to stay at Seadance. When we got there we immediately felt right at home, and all the staff made us feel like members of the family. The weather was not on our side during the stay, but Seadance went out of their way to keep us happy. They put together parties and live music nights in order for the guests to still have a good time, the restaurant made us delicious food (try the springrolls, the crispy snapper and the white Sangria!), they helped us organize the trip home and helped us with transportation. The room was wery nice and the beds super comfy. Most of all the atmosphere at the resort was amazing. Although this was our first stay, the management and the rest of the staff made us feel like we were regulars and old friends. We would love to come back again!
