Summertime Villa: "It’s always Summer Time, at Summertime"

Review by: mpetergeorge | Source: Trip Advisor
"One needs to close one's eyes and transport oneself to one's summer vacations when at school, to relive the best moments in years gone by -- moments of unbridled joy and anticipation of the unknown, those of wanton freedom and excitement, a day in the pool, a trek within woods unexplored, to eat to one's heart's (and stomach's) content, moments of quiet tranquil and calm, and then the comfort of a bed and a pillow one can sink into, after a day of frolic. And it's all this and much more at Summertime Villa, Goa, where I had one of my more memorable breaks in recent memory. Summertime played host to me (and my group) earlier this August. While we make it a point to stay at a new villa each time on our yearly sojourns to Goa, something tells me Summertime will become a regular in the calendar of our activities. A beautiful oasis, tastefully done up and well adorned, Summertime boasts of 3 humungous bedrooms (one has a Koi pond right outside too) and bathrooms, a splendid drawing room, and two dining rooms (one on the outer deck, while the other inside the house). A swimming pool to boot, Summertime nestled away in the heart of nature, and away from all humanity that could bother you. With a cook (Dinesh) and caretaker (Prakash) at beck and call, and a retinue of helpers there on, one truly does seem like the master of all that he/she behold. For a bibliophile, Hans and Sucheta (who hosted us at Summertime), have books aplenty, that one could easily find a corner to snuggle into a lose oneself to the others around too. Be it a book that engrosses you, or the beautiful rains over the trees at the villa or even engaging with a small crawly thing that may have ventured out of the woods, into your space, Summertime was certainly a break away from the mundane. Located on the outskirts of Calangute, the villa is a shout away from a number of good eateries and watering holes, in and around the area. Getting to and from the place is a challenge, but the ever helpful Nora (the manager at Summertime) aided us with the number of a cab company that was a call away too. My group and I were truly pampered at Summertime, and it's in no small regard that this trip evoked as many memories of my yesteryears too. I shall certainly be coming back for more if Hans & Sucheta will have us back. Until then, I can only wish the crew at Summertime the best in creating more summer memories for more weary travellers."

Inle Princess Resort: "Blends with the natural landscape"

Review by: Sultan2 | Source: Trip Advisor
The hotel is well located and the rooms are all bungalows. Its a romantic setting just walking t o your room. Supplies are hard to get so the hotel is a bit rough around the edges, but that gives it some of its charm. The dinning room and bar are beautiful and the service very attentive. All of the burmese people are wonderful and friendly.

Manda De Laos: "Excellent but pricey"

Review by: Stephen M | Source: Trip Advisor
"We were unaware that reservations were necessary but they were very accommodating and set up an extra table for us. We tried one of the sets for two but there was so much excellent food we were unable to finish it all. We did squeeze in the wonderful dessert though! The service was top notch but if you opt to have some wine or beer be prepared to pay top dollar or in this case kip. The total cost was what one would pay in a western country but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return the next time we are in the area. "

Tugu Lombok: "Lovely paradise"

Review by: Ysa a | Source: Trip Advisor
Went here one weekend for lunch and to stroll around the place. The moment walked in I fell in love with the beauty and serenity of this place. Food was also good and well cooked. Everything about this hotel is lovely. Perfect for a quiet get away.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Otherworldly"

Review by: alygibson | Source: Trip Advisor
"This hotel has been covered extensively, and for good reason. We stayed for four nights during our honeymoon, and even though we stayed at truly luxurious hotels, 4 Rivers was a real highlight. You take a boat about 25 minutes to floating wooden platforms with about 15 tents set up. The rooms are well appointed (nothing special), but you're there for the surroundings. Our bodies got accustomed to waking up with the sun and going to sleep when it got dark. We enjoyed taking the sunset cruise at the end of the day, and exploring the mangroves in kayaks. The staff, especially Rambo and Bono, are delightful. It was here that we fell in love with Cambodia. My only complaint is that food was bad (not authentic). Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"

Secluded oasis with beautifully designed tents. Excellent food and service as well. Location is gorgeous, just some minutes away from Ubud's center, near beautiful rice fields and jungle. The owner and all service staff were extremely polite. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

Rachamankha: "Our 4th Stay At Rachamankha"

Review by: TomBrodehl | Source: Trip Advisor
We keep returning because it is that good. Fine antiques throughout, inside and out. A gracious and attentive staff. They are extremely stealth and quiet. The theme is serenity and quiet. Soft jazz and classical music quietly plays in the background. A bouquet of two dozen fresh roses were in our room. Complimentry breakfast is served on fine bone china. No children under 12.
