Rahai’i Pangun: "Best jungle boat experience"
My first jungle experience in Borneo on a beautiful wood boat, excellent food and friendly staff. Loved it!Maison Polanka: "Beautiful Haven in September"
"Over the years I have stayed at many 5 star hotels and resorts and unexpectedly this was by for my most enjoyable experience. Upon arrival the airport I was warmly welcomed by management staff and driver and after a short drive to the resort was overwhelmed by the lovely grounds and secure compound that the Maison Polanka is set in. My stay was booked for 5 nights with the 'Yellow Room Package' (highly recommended) and included 4 Dinners, Massages, Temple tours with one of Angkor's finest guides and my own personal Tuk-Tuk driver. This represented excellent value! The Yellow Room was perfect for me and much larger than it appeared in the photos I had seen. The room itself had a fantastic Khmer rustic charm with the modern conveniences that us Western travellers expect. The huge bathroom was separated from the main room by a small staircase. Excellent design! My biggest surprise of my stay here was the absolutely awesome dining. The traditional Khmer cook was amazing!!! Unbelievably fresh and authentic Khmer cuisine kept me dining here every night... Maison Polanka is a very special place and I would like to thank ALL the staff, guides and drivers for a brilliant Angkor experience. I will definitely return to this awesome haven!"The Island Lodge: "A Great Place for Weekend Getaway"
"A very nice boutique resort, one hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Stayed one night at this remarkable resort for my family of four. Relaxed and enjoyed totally with the attentive service from all the staff. Restaurant offer good food and beverages with reasonable price. The sightseeing tour is sufficient and good for the kids to explore the locals in Mekong Delta. Only one negative comment is that the wifi connection in room was not stable throughout my stay at The Island Lodge. Highly recommended for a short trip stay (2 nights) away from the bustling of Ho Chi Minh City."Tugu Malang: "Lovely place, lovely staff"
Stayed here for just one night whilst passing through Malang. Have been planning to stay here for a while though due to good reports. The staff were super friendly on arrival and got me checked in quickly. Afternoon tea was delicious and very welcome, and then a trip to the spa for my 15 mins welcome massage plus another hour which was fantastic. Dinner was scrumptious - please note there is a separate vegetarian menu but you have to ask for it. So much food on offer! My room was great with a lovely soft bed. There are a number of breakfast menus - so much choice! I had an upset stomach and once I told the staff they brought me some herbal tea to help. The staff also gave me a free bag of coffee and some bread snacks to keep me going on my ride back to Surabaya. I didn't want to leave! Will definitely be back to explore more of Malang and experience the Tugu again. Terima Kasih banyak! Sampai Jumpa Lagi! The Island Lodge: "Perfect stay at The Island Lodge"
"We arrived by Les Rives boat tour and stayed for 3 nights. Michel and staff were great at making all our arrangements for transfers and tours. We had wonderful days filled with bike tours, relaxing massages, delicious meals and peacefulness sitting at the pool. The staff are wonderful and helpful. We loved staying here and did not want to leave!"Bali Jiwa Villa: "Amazing Experience"
"Wow !! From the minute you arrive at a little carved wooden door set in the middle of a rice field you realise this is like no where else. We rented the two Villas here so had the whole place to ourselves total privacy, peace and seclusion. The Villas and Lounge/Dining area are beautifully constructed and furnished to blend into the landscape lovely comfy beds, large bathrooms plus outdoor bath and shower. Each area has a collection of books about Indonesia lovely local carvings and traditional furniture make you feel like you are staying in someone's home the attention to detail is fantastic. And now the Staff !! You have your own Staff team who look after your every need cooking and serving beautiful Indonesian. There is a small choice at Breakfast and lunch and a lovely home cooked Indonesian Feast in the Evening. This was an unforgettable Balinese experience - hope to return one day. "tugu bali: "The Secret Retreat!"
"This is our 2nd stay at Tugu. We enjoyed it so much we couldn't resist another stay. Although it is a little more expensive the Tugu ""offer"" is unique. You can lie in your own private space overlooking the sea without being annoyed by hawkers and just watch the surfers, or lie by the pool in privacy. The perfect getaway. We were fortunate enough to experience the cultural evening which presented us with 3 dances - so amazing and professional - a totally memorable experience. We used the hotel driver to take us to Seminyak on a couple of occasions - he was polite, courteous and perfect in every way. Thank you Tugu - your staff our amazing...well done Jenny. Good luck with the Living Wall construction, we look forward to seeing it in the future."Glenburn Tea Estate: "Shangri-La in Darjeeling"
We spent four wonderful days in this Shangri-La situated in the Himalayan Mountains, surrounded by tea gardens, hikes through the tea gardens and tiny villages, scenery to paint, and of course wonderful tea picked at the estate. Each evening a delightful family meal, meeting fun and interesting people, and wonderful food from a different region each evening. A little off the beaten path, but worth the little extra effort to get to paradise.Tugu Lombok: "Get pampered"
"We stayed 5 nights in a Swarga Villa immediately after end of ramadan. The photographs of the Villa on the website are not favorable when compared to what it is really. The villa is very nice : terrass with table and chairs, one spacious room including area for desk, generous semi-open air bathroom, patio, and open-air place with two sunbeds and a view on the sea (however, the place is mostly in the shade, you can hardly sunbathe here). Limited privacy on open-air areas. Everything is perfectly working and service is impeccable. For those who would go for an Bhagavat Gita Oceanfront Suite, note that the pool is small (it is a plunge pool) and there is no privacy. Pool is in a garden open to the beach. The service is outstanding, from welcome to good-bye. We would like to drop a special note for Erik at front-desk, Mahmud and Ruslan in the restaurant. They have been excellent making us really feeling at home. What is special to Tugu Lombok is that you can have dinner (and I guess even breakfast) wherever you like : on the beach, on the pool, on the pond, on the spa roof which is like a temple, at your villa.... Food is nice (if not always excellent) and reasonable in price given the standard of the resort. But the choice of wine at an affordable price could be better, including some less expensive wines from Bali for example. Breakfast is generous in every way. We have been less convinced by the spa. Prices are equivalent to 5* in Jakarta but quality level is lower. Whereas quality of massage was quite good, everything else was not luxurious or refined. There are no male therapists. Beach : yes, it is true that there are pieces of coral on the sand. It is however easy to avoid them. In addition, Tugu cleans the beach as much as possible and they have rockshoes available (free). In fact, those coral are more problematic to get into and out of the water, but it did not spoil our pleasure in any way. A big pool, in addition to the nice one in front of the restaurant, is perfect for swimmers (long approx. 30 m, with a smart three-level deep system). Tugu is secluded and very quiet, and this was what we wanted. Fyi, there are no other options for dinner nearby. Bicycles are available (free), local people in the village are very nice and welcoming. Regarding the design, we loved it. But check their website before you book and you can easily see whether you like this style of deco or not. Opinion is given taking into account that the hotel is considered being of very high, ""luxury"" standard (5 stars)."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Perfect peace and relaxation"
"After a hectic 2 week tour in India and Nepal this was a perfect place to relax and unwind before returning to UK. Perched on the top of a steep hill the location is amazing with fantastic views over the Annapurna mountain range and down into the Pokhara valley. One didn't mind getting up at 0545 to watch the sun rise over the mountain range, having been woken by the staff with a pot of tea delivered to the room. At the other end of the day sit on the terrace with tea and home made cakes and biscuits to watch the sun set over the mountains. In between very knowledgeable nature guides cater for all abilities with short or long walks bird and butterfly spotting. Alternatively, relax by the infinity pool gazing across to the mountains. Simple but well cooked and presented food with choice between Nepalese or Continental with most of the food grown locally or on site. All waiter served, hot and fresh from the kitchen. Tea and coffee with home made cake and biscuits on tap whenever you want. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. Marcus, the manager took the time to meet and get to know all the guests. It was such a shame that I only had 3 nights there, I would have liked to spend so much longer and experience more nature walks. Fantastic"
