Supanniga Cruise: "Fantastic boutique dinner cruise experience"
"We booked the SC as a birthday celebration whilst family were visiting Bangkok (4 adults in total). We booked the Dinner Champagne Tattinger Cruise package which offers a fantastic selection of various dishes following a flute of Tattinger upon boarding. As five-year residents of Bangkok, we had always wanted to experience a Chao Phraya dinner cruise, but had no intention of joining the buffet-style, neon-light-laden barges with over 500 other ""diners"" queing and elbowing our way around a floating eye-sore. In contrast, the SC setup is a very small, boutique, and well-managed operation, with a limited number of diners in a quiet and intimate setting. The top deck offers great uninterrupted views of the passing river and buildings on the banks. The route takes in many of the river's highlights including The Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, as well as some of the quieter stretches south of Taksin Bridge. The table service was very attentive, professional (but relaxed) and prompt - there is quite a substantial list of servings to get through in the two hour experience, but the portions are tasty and appropriate. Being fans of the Bangkok outlets of Supanigga, we are aware of the seafood-orientation of the menu, and there was a bit of spice involved in a few dishes, but it is all very nice and very well prepared given the limitations on kitchen (being on a small boat!). The departure from River City is very convenient and well-managed (with booking confirmation phone call earlier in the day). Being able to park in the River City complex is very helpful. We were very excited to see the launch of this endeavour by Supanigga and were very happy and satisfied (and full!) that we chose it for a special occasion. We all thoroughly recommend the experience, and hope to return to take it all in again in the near future."Samuay & Sons: "A DELIGHTFUL CULINARY EXPERIENCE"
What a surprise to find a modern thai fusion restaurant with such surprising dishes in Udon Thani. The two brothers Joey and Noom learned their trade in Berkeley and returned to Udon 4 years ago. Menu with dishes that surprise, very tasty, beautifully decorated, and a unique creative twist to them. And as a bonus a large selections of desserts, which are normally not to be found in a Thai restaurants. No wine on the menu yet which is a pity, but we were told by the owners that they will feature organic wine before long. A must visit in Udon for food lovers.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Stunning!"
We had a truly amazing stay here recently. You would never know that you were staying in a tent - they are luxurious, comfortable and well equipped. All of the people there are lovely and can't do enough for you. We chose to take the organised trip to the waterfall and we had a brilliant day. Our only complaint is that we didn't get to stay long enough. This is truly a piece of paradise!Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Wonderful Experience – Hanok in Bukchon"
This beautiful property tucked away in the Bukchon neighborhood of Seoul is an absolute gem! We had the opportunity to spend 3 amazing nites in the Rak Ko Jae, and during our stay we met Winnie, our fabulous and very accommodating host. She prepared amazing breakfastes and was so delightful to chat with. Loved our quaint sleeping quarters and the heated floors. Plus the supercool old school korean tub. So enjoyed just snooping around the amazing complex. I'm running out of superlatives to use! Also, check out the hot sauna, sweating until you cant keep your eyes open (in a good way!). We'll never forget our visit.Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "The Rocks CNY"
This is our 3rd stay at the Sea Dance , which speaks volumes. The staff at Sea Dance are so welcoming the food is sensational ( must do Sunday brunch ) Truly a wonderful place to stay even better with the addition of a Spa We plan to go back very soonSatri House: "Fantastic stay. Lovely location and great service"
Satri house was a great experience overall. Lovely location on a quiet (well usually, see below) residential street 5 mins from "town". Great service, lovely clean rooms and amazing little edible treats left in the rooms every afternoon. The pool area is small so loungers are limited but there is a second pool area if needs be. The restaurant serves a really nice breakfast and although we only ate dinner their once that was great too. The spa was good. Not amazing but not bad. There were two downsides - the number of mosquitos which were ridiculous and almost certainly bred in the large pond by reception/the restaurant - the stagnant water must be heaven on earth for them. At any one time we had a least 10 in our room and never left the windows or doors open. The 4 poster bed with curtains helped keep the blood sucking critters at bay at night. The other downside whilst we were there was the non stop loud dance music coming from the festival next door combined with the karaoke on the street behind the pool for national women's day. We found it rather amusing but I doubt I would have felt the same if I had been there too much longer - plus our air con and fan helped drown out some of the noise when we were in the room. Despite the two issues I would definitely stay there again and loved our trip.Blackitch Artisan Kitchen: "Amazing, friendly, creative"
If you really like great food cooked by passionate and friendly people, this is the restaurant you’re looking for. The food is first and foremost delicious. But it’s everything else that really makes this place shine. They focus on local ingredients, used with a modern sensibility in dishes that are still recognizably Thai. (Even having eaten around Thailand there was plenty we were unfamiliar with.) Each fantastic course comes with a chat with the chef - as brief or extensive as you want. These are people who want to share their love for their food with you. Honestly, as foodies, this is the meal we’d been looking for since we arrived.Tugu Lombok: "It was a world away in Shang Gri La"
"We are very fortunate as we ended up at the Hotel, and they had extra space so they upgraded us to the ocean front Villa. It was you own world and steps away from the beach. Everybody went out of there way to please. When we left it felt like the Love Boat with the entire staff waving goodbye. The best experience was taking the Hotel's boat to go snorkeling at Gili Islands. We went early and were ahead of everyone at the best spots. Not to mention we had the Dragon Boat! Food was excellent, and a very relaxing experience. Not to mention the free Tea Service at 4:00 pm to just relax and catch up with staff on any activities planned for the next day or even a last minute dinner on the beach with massage..."Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A wonderful time"
"My wife and I had the most wonderful stay at the Blue Mansion over Christmas and wanted to pass on our thank you for the hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. Our time at the mansion was that beginning of our honeymoon and we were greeted with flowers on the bed in the shape of a heart. The room was an excellent balance between heritage and modern comfort, and each time we returned to our room after exploring George Town it was an absolute joy to return as we made our way through the beautiful building to our room. The staff were amazing and genuinely happy in their work, and we looked forward to the wonderful breakfast each morning in the courtyard. For me, these breakfasts were very relaxing, the food amazing, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere just perfect. As we were spending Christmas away from home, it was lovely to receive a small gift on Christmas day. It is these little things which really stand out and remain in the memories of a stay. The cherry on top was being told we could open the back door of our room (which we were unaware existed) and be the first to use the new pool area which had been finished that very afternoon. Again, this is something we will never forget. As my wife and I sit now at a resort in Langkawai, we find ourselves thinking back to our stay and actually miss being back in George Town at the mansion. You have very special accommodation offering which we would recommend to anyone and would love to come and stay again in the future. Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"Rahai’i Pangun: "Fantastic four days up the river in Tanjung Puting"
"What else can I say that others haven't already said? WOW Borneo does an amazing job making sure your visit to Tanjung Puting will be one of your most memorable experiences ever. From the amazing, spacious Klotok boat, to the tasty and abundant food, to the little things like passing out a cool wash cloth when you return from shore, these guys are really and truly committed to their work. One really nice example: at the start of the trip we changed our plans to spend more nights on the boat rather than stay for a night at Rimba Lodge. Our friends at WOW handled the change gracefully and promptly wired back the funds I had pre-paid for the hotel. My only wish, and it's small, was to get more local historical and cultural insight (in English) from our guide, Pretty - who to be fair is relatively new on the job. Despite this I always knew our needs would be foreseen and met, and I know my companions came away from our rainforest encounter with a profound send of new awareness and inspiration."
