Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Amazing"

Review by: barryswain75 | Source: Trip Advisor
Tiger Mountain Lodge is amazing. Though access may be slightly problematic for the less agile such as myself, any efforts are certainly worthwhile. My room (7) had breathtaking views over the mountains and (very kindly ) the weather Gods lifted the clouds enabling the magnificent scene to unfold. Though this reality was obviously outside the control of the lodge management , the friendly and efficient care that was delivered throughout the stay at the lodge. My food requirements are unusual to say the least, but an understanding staff managed to accommodate those peculiarities very efficiently. All aspect of care lived up to or exceeded expectations and Grateful thanks are due to a very efficient team.

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "One of the best hotels in Nepal"

Review by: Andrew H | Source: Trip Advisor
I have visited Tiger Mountain several times and I now regard the staff there as 'friends'. The team led by Marcus, Jhalak and Dol Raj are very friendly and helpful. The food is some of the best available in Nepal. Local curry is excellent and the Western dishes are wholesome and tasty. The hotel focuses on ecotourism and so tries to use local organic produce as much as possible. The large garden is full of birds and butterflies and the naturlist team available for nature walks are very experienced. The swimming pool has possibly the best hotel swimming pool view in the World. I shall return!

Tugu Malang: "Love this piece of Gem"

My second visit. Staff remembered and adressed me with my name. Arrived 5 mins to high tea but was accommodated. Rooms uniquely decorated. As the common room with peranakan-javanese style furnitures and paintings. ENJOYED SO MUCH....

Villa Song Saigon: "Fantastic boutique hotel, plus free speedboat and minibar"

Review by: Simon W | Source: Trip Advisor
"We absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful, quaint, great staff, lovely food and wonderful rooms. It's no wonder that this is the top hotel in Saigon on Trip Advisor (at the time of writing). We stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the pool, with a deeply comfy double bed, separate shower room and washing facilities, TV, private balcony and all the usual mod cons included. Their service is second to none. There's a free minibar in all rooms (including beer, water, milk and juice). They serve breakfast at any time of the day (seriously - you could have it at 10pm if you REALLY sleep in), and it's included in the price of the room. And electricity can be left on in your suite when you leave, meaning those devices that keep dying might actually get charged. They have UK plug sockets too. Best of all, as the hotel is not right in the city centre, they put on a speedboat to ferry guests to the main bit of the city, on a first come first served basis. (Although it was never full when we stayed in May). The boat takes approximately 15-20 minutes, but you'd wish it would be longer, because it's brilliant. The last boat is at 6pm, and a taxi back to the hotel should set you back 150,000 VND. If it's more than that, they've got lost! The pool is excellent, as is their restaurant, which is overseen by Kevin the chef from Luxembourg - who will certainly seek you out to say hello, or offer some food and drink recommendations. Food and drink here, incidentally, is a few more pennies by Vietnamese standards, but very fair when compared to the rest of Saigon, and even better when compared to the likes of London. Breakfast, which I briefly mentioned, is very good. The best we had in Vietnam, in fact. And it offers up some really well done variations of Western classics like pancakes or a full English versus your traditional and excellent Pho noodle soup. (If you're really hungry, you can even have both - in fact, it was them who suggested it, which I greedily accepted). Their staff are great, too. When we wanted to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, the front desk organised a speedboat to pick us up from the hotel's own private jetty - and one of the highlights of our trip. If I was to take points off this hotel, and it is being picky, then their airport to hotel transfer service is very expensive in comparison to most hotels we stayed at in Vietnam (all of which have a comparative distance from airport to destination). It was a nice air conditioned private car, but then it was no better than every other hotel provided us. And 1,386,000 VND is a bit steep. Full disclosure: they had quoted this price to me some time before we arrived in Vietnam, and I could have shopped around for cheaper prices, so I can't really blame them for quoting a price to me and then accepting it. But it might be something they could look at in the future! The taxi they booked us for our return to the airport after our stay was much, much cheaper at 300,000 VND. So maybe shop around for your original pick-up. I know there's loads of 'taxi scams' in Vietnam, but you should be able to find a decent service for cheaper transfers if you need. None of that dented out love of Villa Song Saigon, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I really miss their speedboat..."

Jing’s Residence: "Really fine small hotel located in the Ancient walled City of Pingyao"

Review by: Joe S | Source: Trip Advisor
My wife and I stayed in this marvelous hotel within the Ancient walled City of Pingyao. The staff were exceedingly gracious in service and even helped translate for us with some local teenage girls who wanted to have their picture taken with Westerners. The room was very nice and we had fresh honey soaked dates when returning from our day's exploring. Breakfast (included in our tour) was expansive and was off a menu and not a buffet - the food both Chinese & European was excellent. We ate dinner one evening and the food and service were outstanding. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Supanniga Eating Room: "Excellent Local Cuisine"

Review by: Jason G | Source: Trip Advisor
Great restaurant offering local cuisine in a comfortable & stylish environment. Easy walk from several hotels. We arrived without a reservation & a table was quickly found for us despite it being busy. The service was good & fairly prompt. The menu has a nice variety of meat, fish & veg options. A great choice & good evening.

Rachamankha: "Beautiful Boutique Hotel"

Review by: blakeHK | Source: Trip Advisor
"Location is within the square but a little bit out of the main shopping and food areas in the old town of Chiang Mai. However it is only a 10-12 minute walk into the main central food areas and this slight isolation gives the hotel a sense of pure tranquility that is difficult to find in this bustling little city. Another bonus is the hotel is right next to one of our favourite temples (Phra Singh Temple) The property itself is pure class; the courtyard is stunning and there is plenty of places on the property to relax and read a book or take in the amazing architecture, art and culture that is oozing from this gorgeous hotel. The pool is beautiful and again another great place to relax and unwind. The staff are friendly but not over bearing which we found perfect. Sometimes staff can get a little too familiar but not in this case. The restaurant was fabulous and the breakfasts although not large were perfect to set up the day. There were a few things that were not 100% but over all we were very happy with our stay and would certainly go back. The WiFi on the property was not strong and would often drop but luckily we bought a pocket WiFi so wasn't a big issue. Although the staff did spray often there were many mosquito's around but we bought some bug spray at the local 7/11 and used it in the room before we left each evening. Also the rooms were appointed with mosquito nets which was great. There was also a real lack of power points in the room. I would take a power bar with you if you are expecting to charge anything more than a phone...but I guess this place is for relaxing and not for electronics ;)"

Reverie Siam Pai: "Wonderful resort in an ideal location for motorcycling"

Review by: Thomas O | Source: Trip Advisor
"My wife and I were on a 7 days motorcycle tour around Northern Thailand. When we got to Reverie Siam we liked it so much that we decided to stay 4 nights instead of two. The nearby roads and scenery offered some amazing day trips on the motorcycle and our afternoons and evening in Pai and especially at Reverie Siam were the perfect complement to busy (and hot) riding days. The staff were wonderful and we loved the pools (2), bars (2) and restaurant. Felt like we were back in the roaring 20’s. Drinks by the (cool) pool was a welcome afternoon treat. Not sure how our stay could have been nicer. We loved it."
