I assumed any restaurant in Thailand called David's would be french considering. I was a bit surprised when I met David as he met us at the door. I won't let my expectations ruin yours. He was so delightful on so many levels.But that was was just the meet and greet.The waiting staff were absolutely fantastic. Their english was wonderfu and the service was very very pleasantl. But the food. The food was fantastic.I would have to rate this as one of the best meals of my life. From the moment it starts to the end, everything is just little bits of perfection. Recommended by a Thai friend. The food was excellent. Great service as well. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday night, you have to book. At least a dozen people came while we were eating and had to leave, because it was fully booked. My husband prefers his food not too spicy and they accommodate him. Beautiful peaceful oasis in the middle of noisy Bangkok. We feel lucky to have found this place and can recommend it to everyone, especially those who like to have a more genuine experience of this unique city rather than staying in the big chain hotels. Sadly we only stayed for one night, it is the perfect place to relax especially since it is a little out of town. The Cambodian style villas are cozy with a good range of amenities (just wish they provided some shampoo and shower gel in the bathrooms), the pool and pond areas are lovely with all the tropical plants and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the morning sitting on the deck overlooking the lotus flower pond and the afternoon swimming in the pool (surprisingly the water was cool despite the heat). The food in the restaurant was fresh and delicious. The server went out of his way to cut us fresh coconuts from the tree. Definitely a place to return to for another weekend getaway.Maison Polanka: "On point design boutique"
Charming boutique hotel with fantastic design and grounds. Well located and helpful staff. The restaurant itself was a bit mediocre, but the setting was so special that it didn't matter. The spa was also quite enjoyable. Given the price compared to some of the other design hotels in the area, I would definitely choose Maison Polanka again.Tugu Lombok: "Great service & amazing beauty"
A truly wonderful resort with a fabulous sense of style and beach sophistication. A great launching point to climb Rinjani or simply relax on the quite side of Lombok. What a beautiful mansion and a fantastic guide. There are 3 tours a day (11am, 2:30pm and 3:30pm), which means the tour is busy (the only way to see the mansion) but also the guide knows exactly what she's talking about and is fantastic! Our guide, Pat, was super informative and also a lot of fun. It was also fantastic to see all the photos of the restoration work which they took great care over. "A good place to stay with friends or a family. I lived in the house for 6-8 guests. Rooms are airy. A peaceful and very quiet hotel for a relaxing vacation. Nice food, wide list of beverages. Comfortable bed. Private water pool, CCTV cameras. There are no TV, hair dryer. WI-FI is slowly. I would be happy to live there again! Stayed March 2017, traveled with family"
