Sanak Retreat Bali: "Outstanding"
We stayed here for the first 3 nights of our holiday and was perfect after a long flight. The hotel,is surrounded by wall to wall rice fields and is so tranquil that you cannot fail to feel at peace with yourself and the world! Our room was beautiful and we would fall asleep each night to the sound of frogs and crickets. Whilst there we did a trek to a local village and stopped off for a swim at some waterfalls. Our guide Arca was superb, very knowledgeable and you could tell that he actually enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the local area. There is a small pool are which is lovely for relaxing bybwhilst taking in the beauty of the surroundings. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to help. Whilst we were there my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Our travel agents unbeknown to us had informed the hotel of this fact and after dinner that evening we were presented with a cake to celebrate our anniversary. This Inthought was a really nice touch and totally unexpected. If you want to stay somewhere and be totally unhurried with lovely people with stunning panoramic views then this is the place for you.Muang La Lodge: "Comfort in Northern Laos"
"This was our second trip to Laos and we decided to go further afield to the northern part of the country to trek and explore the region. The Muang La resort was a very welcome refuge in an area that has really not seen considerable investment in tourism infrastructure. The resort is all inclusive and does a very good job looking after its guests. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and offer up nice views of the river and mountains. Our three days of trekking were organized by the hotel. Each day was a discovery, and while strenuous, our hiking took us up mountains to remote villages inhabited by Khmu and Hmong. We also visited jungle waterfalls, local markets, temples and rice fields. Our guide was terrific and he gave us access to places I'm sure we would not have been able to discover. After a challenging day of hiking, it was great to get back to the hotel, soak in one of the hot tubs fed by a natural spring, have a swim in the pool, accessed by a bridge suspended across the river, and play with the adorable baby monkey adopted by the hotel staff. The food at the hotel was very good - with diverse choices available, including both Laotian and foreign food. The hotel provided us with packed lunches for our treks, typically a rice or noodle preparation wrapped in banana leaf, accompanied by local fruits. There are nice walks to do right from the hotel -- crossing the river in the nearby town and wandering into the local villages on the opposite bank is interesting, and the return to the hotel side can be done on a river raft built from bamboo by one of the local farmers. The hotel plays an important role in the local community, providing employment and management and language training to the local population. All staff, apart from the hotel director, are Laotian. I'd highly recommend this property for a visit to this part of Laos. It's well worth the 5 to 6 hour drive from Luang Prabang, through breathtaking scenery, especially on the stretch from Pak Ou. Heading back to Luang Prabang, we took a river boat for part of the journey, again arranged by the hotel. Pack good walking shoes, an adventurous spirit, and a curious mind and you will love the Muang La resort and all it has to offer."Maison Polanka: "Just the best!"
We stayed here for 3 nights. The grounds, the staff, the rooms, the attention to detail, everything is perfect. Off the main drag of Siem Reap is this oasis of a hotel. You enter through the sliding gate to see a beautiful garden and staff waiting to meet you. As you walk along the path with a staff member you see the open air dining area, the pool and the few buildings that house your perfect room. We stayed in one of the villas which shares a pool with 3 others. The accommodation was gorgeous - bedroom above plus semi open air bathroom and day bed area downstairs and beautiful decor, art & landscaping throughout the property. The boutique nature of the venue meant that the restaurant & lounge were calm but service and food still excellent. Given that this is nestled into the jungle, frogs & other wildlife were pretty noisy through the night but that added to the charm for us. We also enjoyed a private yoga class with a super teacher in the yoga pavilion early morning.Tugu Malang: "Tempo Doeloe feeling"
The hotel is a mixture of luxury and history. The rooms give a feel of the "good" (only for the Dutch) colonial old times, with the hand hammered baths. And the whole atmosphere is the hotel is friendly and service minded. The for is excellent and the hotel itself has a fantastic mix of antiquities within its walls (Chinese (most), Dutch and Indonesian. It was a pleasure going to the rooms with my 17 year old daughter and see her recognize drawings and pictures of Kublai Kahn and Sun Yat Sen. Great hotel.NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Excellent safari experience in Yala National Park"
"We loved every moment of our time with Sajit, Praneeth and the boys at Leopard Safaris in Yala National Park. We stayed for 3 nights in March 2016 and would definately go back. Luxury camping at its best with one of the most comfortable beds throughout our stay in Sri Lanka, our own flushing loo and warm water shower. The food was excellent and plenty of it (it was great to have explanations on the local cuisine, it's ingredients and how to eat like the locals). The game drives were of course a highlight and our guides worked very hard to ensure we got the most from our experience - each safari was unique and it was nice to be able to explore different sections of the park. We appreciated each and every aspect of our time with Leopard Safaris and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone thinking about a stay in Yala. "David’s Kitchen: "Fantastic meal and service"
"Myself and two friends visited David's kitchen on a Saturday night, we did not have a reservation but David was very happy to accommodate us. He took the time to ask us about our trip and what our plans were, while also giving us advice on other attractions and bars in the area. The food and service was amazing, the best we've eaten on our trip. The staff regulately enquired as to whether we needed anything. The chocolate souffle an tiramisu were the best we've ever had. The staff were all kind and attentive, really setting the experience apart. The personal touches and attentions really made a difference and added to a wonderful evening."The Apsara Rive Droite: "Dejligt hotel med super service"
Villa Song Saigon: "Perfect"
"Villa Song is located in District 3 outSide the city centre. Some say that is a negative, I dont. The city is chaos which is fine for the excitement....but to wind down and enjoy a relaxed peaceful evening this is the place. It's a beautiful boutique hotel with a fantastic saltwater pool to cool down and a riverfront restaurant and bar to enjoy the breeze and view. As for being outside the city, Villa Song provides a free boat shuttle that drops near the main promenade. You get incredible views and bypass the traffic. The times are limited so plan accordingly. The area has the british international school so mainy restaurants, bars, and grocery stores are close by."Bassac Cruises: "A great experience"
Very vell organised trip on a relatively modern, but traditional boat. Excellent small cabins and super food (if too much). Village and floating market excursions very good. Great staff and the ever efficient guide 'An' organises you with military precision.
