Cuca: "Amazing lunch"
Lovely place with a nice garden to wander around. Food was excellent. Meats and seafood were fantastic. Comes tapas style for sharing. Everything was excellent. We ordered every single item on the seafood and meat menu and had nothing to complain about. Every single dish was exquisite. Only complaint was the black pepper ice cream for desert which left an odd after taste. Price wise is a little on the expensive side for Bali. Expect to pay 500k per pax.Inle Princess Resort: "Amazing Inle Lake"
"This hotel was pretty special, we had a chalet style room with a verandah overlooking the lake with sun loungers, chairs and table. The room was excellent and the bathroom had ""his & her"" wash basins, a bath and an outside shower. There was a good restaurant, bar and swimming pool and we arrived by boat being rowed by the distinctive local leg rowing method. Wifi only obtainable in reception and restaurant/bar areas "Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A unique experience, best service you can find"
"We have traveled a lot around the world in both high luxury hotels and small guesthouses, but we must admit that I have rarely had such a nice experience as the one we got at Thahara Inle Heritage. To us, this hotel has it all : the luxury bungalows with quiet private terrace right in the middle of Inle lake (that you would expect to find in a a 5* hotel) and the adorable welcoming service that you can only find in small intimate guesthouses. Plus, the food is divine (and the breakfast, Oh My !) and very much affordable for the location, so what more can we ask for ? Well, you could wish that your money goes to a good cause, and it does. Thahara Inle Heritage is part of the not-for-profit training center that prepare local young people for careers in restaurants and hotels. That explains the amazing and welcoming service ! It also had its own amazing garden full of delicious vegetables, which explains the amazing local cuisine of their restaurant, and works towards full sustainability, so you are assured to contribute to a green stay. You can also take part in one of their cooking class if you have time, surely the best one you can find in the country ! Or you can just wander around the Thahara, pay a visit to their Burmese cat center or check out their local Aquarium. Or you can hop on a boat and head to Nampan market, 5 minutes away, or leave for a memorable boat drive to the Sankar, on the very southern shores of the lake. Endless possibilities, total freedom, breathtaking views. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Myanmar. PS: as for the previous comment, fear nothing if you are a light sleeper, Thahara provides you with earplugs in your room, though we did not need them. And if you are afraid to be cold at night on the lake, you will be happily surprised to find hot water bottles in your bed to warm you up when you come back to your bungalow at night. Brilliant. Stayed January 2016"David’s Kitchen: "Can’t say enough good things"
My husband and I agree that this is one of, if not the best, restaurants we've ever been to. It's more than comparable to any Michelin star or rated establishment, we were actually really surprised they haven't been properly recognized. Not only was the food high quality, eclectic, delicious, and well portioned, the service was beyond 5 star. We went on a Friday and didn't realize until after our Saturday tour that they aren't open on Sunday or we absolutely would have gone back. We wished we had one more night in chiang mai just so we could go one more time! The employees were so on top of things and David made sure to visit every table for a personable chat. He emailed us the next day and recounted some of what we discussed(which was nice considering we were so jetlag we could barely keep our eyes open past the entrees!) and wished us well on our upcoming relocation. I truly wish David would open another location in NYC, although it wouldn't be the same without the man himself! The Hue House: "Hard to find paradise"
"What a beautiful magical spot!! You couldn't ask for a more perfect way to cap an evening after a hectic day in Ho Chi Minh City. You have the feel of walking into a Buddhist Temple from a Japanese garden - except it is perched on the 10th floor overlooking the city you just conquered. The authentic Vietnamese food did not disappoint. We were waited on by helpful staff in traditional dress. We were the only ones there our night - perhaps, because it was rainy outside, perhaps, because it was hard to find, or, perhaps, it is just too new and hasn’t built up the word of mouth. Please, help them and go, you will feel very lucky to have had the opportunity. Getting here is the trick. We never saw a sign. All we found was a security guard to one of the buildings on this short block - just east off the Turtle Fountain/Pond. It is the big steel & glass office building - go into the lobby and press the 10th floor from the elevator. It takes you to paradise."Locavore: "Amazing Culinary Experience"
Your taste buds will be surprised and delighted with every bite and you'll feast your eyes on truly beautiful pieces of culinary art. Highly recommend for adventurous foodies. Be sure to book several weeks if not months in advance to be sure to secure a spot!Tugu Bali: "Lovely place with perfect service"
"Of you want to experience some of Indonesia's history then you should visit Tugu. Lovely hotel with great service. Their Japanese restaurant inside an old Chinese temple is also lovely. Nice garden next to the beach. Great breakfast with too much food to eat. Everyday you can also enjoy tea time next to the pool. Due to the rising popularity of Canggu the neighborhood is becoming the hotel's biggest enemy. A lot of construction work is going on. Really a pity for such nice place! But Great place for spending your last nights at Bali"Reverie Siam: "Stunning hotel"
"This is a fantastic hotel, located on the outskirts of the samll town of Pai, in northern thailand. I stayed here with my girlfriend in June 2015 and the place far exceeded both of expectations. The desgin of the resort is fantastic, the french colonial theame is very well done and the rooms are perfect. The resort is quite and peaceful, a perfect place to unwind and relax. The restuarant offers a tappas style menu, which for us was actually a nice change from the more traditional thai dishes on offer elsewhere, although there are plenty of options in town if you wish to stick to thai. The chefs boards in particular were very good as a lunch/snack in the afternoon. (...) Overall though this hotel really is a gem, every aspect of it works wel togther and staff work hard to make your stay perfect, it is fantastic value for money, and although more than many other options in the area, it is well worth it."Cuisine Wat Damnak: "A Must Visit"
The food is amazing. If you are planing to come to Siem Reap try to book in advance and get your fantastic Khmer food cuisine experience here you won't be disappointed. Great taste, great service and great host from the owners.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Simply amazing and unforgettable"
"We stayed in tent 6 north for 2 nights...we do have regrets about our stay. And that is basically the fact that we didn't stay longer. This place is beautiful. A friendly welcome on arrival as we then took a boat ride to the resort. Having just come from Phnom Penh the first thing that hits you is the calmness. A further friendly and informative welcome once we reached the resort. We arrived mid afternoon and took advantage of the wonderful food and sipped a couple of beers on the deck in front of our superb accommodation. The sheer size of the tents and the comfort factor and ammenities available are fantastic. I loved the fact you could unzip the tent to allow you to see the beautiful surroundings at all times. As well as allowing a subtle breeze. The fans provided help with the heat and humidity and the bed is large and comfortable. I love how EVERYTHING moves with the flow of boats passing or people walking on the walkways. Dinner choices are required in advance where you can choose the set menu of the day or simply pick what you like from the standard menu. Breakfast choices are also required in advance. The food is very tasty and the restaurant staff very polite and efficient. We enjoyed a trip to the waterfall. Our 2 guides and boat driver were very good and also great fun. Very interesting to hear how they now have jobs at the resort having been poachers. We arrived prior to anyone else and it was great. The water is warm to swim and the scenery gorgeous. Butterflies everywhere and of course the flowing falls. Fried rice cooked fresh on boar for lunch which was delicious. A thunderstorm started upon our return boat trip..I'm not good with lighting and I'll never forget the guides 'ducking' and 'cowaring' with each lightning strike...when I saw what damage the lightning strikes had caused to their coconut trees you'd understand why. Thankfully after watching the rain fall with such force into the river as we arrived back it stopped. We went on the free trip to see the fire flies. Stunning and so bizarre that they all congregate to one tree..it flashes like a Christmas tree...but it much more beautiful...and the stars...in such darkness the stars are so bright. We were off to Kep after here and were so glad to be given the choice of when we departed. 8am 10am or 12pm. We went with the later time so to optimise our time. Using this to take a leisurely breakfast and to take the kayaks out for a paddle round the island. We saw rhinoceros hornbills and archer fish. Highly recommend 4 rivers. Long may it stay exactly as it is"
