"This place is amazing. Everything has been thought of to make his experience truly amazing. A boat picks you up and you can go to a nearby waterfall to swim and kayak. Our kids were towed along part of the river back to the hotel and loved it! The hotel is floating in a quiet area of the river. You can swim directly off your room, paddle or stand up paddle. The rooms are are very thoughtful and have everything you would expect. All toiletries are Eco friendly. There are movies and books (rained for a few hours) board games etc. The meals are delicious, the trip to see the fireflies is exciting. What a special and unique place to stay. Amazing high ceilings and fabulous architecture. VERY hot water in the shower and the nicest linen I’ve slept on in a long time. Breakfast was delicious. Didn’t eat other meals in the hotel but the menu looked great. The pool is in a sweet back garden which we had all to ourselves. No good for exercise but perfect for dipping, splashing and cooling off. Well located for a wonder to Love Lane and a gentle walk home after too much hawker food. I love this place. Staff were friendly and helpful but their English (although infinitely better than my Malay) not great.Glenburn Tea Estate: "Highly recommended"
"Beyond expectations..... loved this place, it was the highlight of our trip and wished we had stayed much longer. Great hosts, good homemade food (plus the tea) and one of the great hotel views of the world. In retrospect the drive to get there is nothing compared to Sikkim or Shimla and I would happily do it again even with a fear of heights. Recommend the Tea Tour, walk down to the river and the little on site shop for gifts.....now feel very guilty using tea bags. Would suggest coffee/tea making stuff in the room, did not feel right to ring late at night or early morning for it although we were told we could..."Rachamankha: "Amazing- loved it"
Stayed here for my 30th bday weekend with some friends. Beautiful Hotel, centrally located, amazing pool. Friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious and complimentary. I will definitely be coming back here! All my friends loved it too. Ask for Paul the GM- he will make sure you have the best weekend ever and will advice you where to go and what to do and send you to the non tourist trap places.Rachamankha: "Delicious place and delicious food"
"Rachamankha is a beautiful hotel in Chiang Mai that also happens to have a very nice restaurant. We went there to celebrate some friends who was guiding in us in Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai during our stay. We went there early in the day to book a table for the evening. 5 persons having beer, water, wine, starters, main courses, desserts and coffee. Everything served with a smile in surroundings that were just as wonderful as the food. And we all felt welcome. I would go as far as to say; the best farang Thai food in Chiang Mai. Not spicy. I'm sure they would make it spicy if you want. And the Tenderloin were just perfect. If you want to experience a special place, go to Rachamankha. It's worth every bath. After a vibrant week end in Saigon, the island lodge is the perfect place to be : stunning view on the mekong river, just wildness around, an amazing lodge with only 12 bedrooms, lovely decorated in the spirit of the old 'indochine', superb bathroom and a terrace on the river to relax. The swimming pool is beautiful, cristal clear, and you can enjoy a jacuzzi, a sauna and also a typical spa for great vietnamese massages. Michel and Francoise, the french owners will ensure that everything is made for you with a true sign of details and perfection. If you want to pick a unique adress along the Mekong, the island lodge is the place to be !
