Samanea Beach Resort: "Incredible Get-Away"
I absolutely love this place. The setting is perfect for a quiet get away. The landscaping is immaculate and pier is such a perfect place to sit and relax. Even though the ocean is not really swimmable, the man-made beach is great. There is is a lot of care and attention put into this place and I can't wait to go backTugu Malang: "lovely boutique hotel with a lot of history"
i only stayed one night and liked it a lot. we were given a tour if the hotel and learned so much about the history of the house. there are so many pieces of art with so much history. stay there and take the tour. don't forget to eat there!Summertime Villa: "It’s always Summer Time, at Summertime"
"One needs to close one's eyes and transport oneself to one's summer vacations when at school, to relive the best moments in years gone by -- moments of unbridled joy and anticipation of the unknown, those of wanton freedom and excitement, a day in the pool, a trek within woods unexplored, to eat to one's heart's (and stomach's) content, moments of quiet tranquil and calm, and then the comfort of a bed and a pillow one can sink into, after a day of frolic. And it's all this and much more at Summertime Villa, Goa, where I had one of my more memorable breaks in recent memory. Summertime played host to me (and my group) earlier this August. While we make it a point to stay at a new villa each time on our yearly sojourns to Goa, something tells me Summertime will become a regular in the calendar of our activities. A beautiful oasis, tastefully done up and well adorned, Summertime boasts of 3 humungous bedrooms (one has a Koi pond right outside too) and bathrooms, a splendid drawing room, and two dining rooms (one on the outer deck, while the other inside the house). A swimming pool to boot, Summertime nestled away in the heart of nature, and away from all humanity that could bother you. With a cook (Dinesh) and caretaker (Prakash) at beck and call, and a retinue of helpers there on, one truly does seem like the master of all that he/she behold. For a bibliophile, Hans and Sucheta (who hosted us at Summertime), have books aplenty, that one could easily find a corner to snuggle into a lose oneself to the others around too. Be it a book that engrosses you, or the beautiful rains over the trees at the villa or even engaging with a small crawly thing that may have ventured out of the woods, into your space, Summertime was certainly a break away from the mundane. Located on the outskirts of Calangute, the villa is a shout away from a number of good eateries and watering holes, in and around the area. Getting to and from the place is a challenge, but the ever helpful Nora (the manager at Summertime) aided us with the number of a cab company that was a call away too. My group and I were truly pampered at Summertime, and it's in no small regard that this trip evoked as many memories of my yesteryears too. I shall certainly be coming back for more if Hans & Sucheta will have us back. Until then, I can only wish the crew at Summertime the best in creating more summer memories for more weary travellers."Tugu Lombok: "Magical in every aspects"
"We could have not chosen a better place to celebrate our special anniversary. We were spoilt from the moment we arrive until the very sad moment we left. All staff without exception went out of their wat to make us feel like royalty and gracious care. Everything about Tugu Lombok was magical. We felt both at home and in an island paradise at the same time. Would love to go back to this magical island and Tugu as our home.."Villa Song: "Superb boutique haven"
"A wonderful boutique hotel away from the madness of district 1. The option of a shuttle boat along the river into the heart of the city is a nice touch. Either eating or drinking out on the patio area of a evening with the boats quietly winding their way down the river is a superb setting to while away a few hours with the high rise buildings of the city lit up as your backdrop. Other reviewers have commented on the small portions at breakfast. Whilst we both love our food we did not consider the portions too small. However, as the management have commented the staff I am sure would only be too happy to serve addional helpings if requested. All in all a great option for a stay in HCMC."Villa Song Saigon: "Wonderful and Relaxing Boutique Hotel. Luxury of a bygone era"
"French Colonial Property (in District 2) overlooking the Saigon River .... immaculate ... superb !!! Everything about VILLA SONG was superb, including it's location ... so close to the city BUT far enough away, allowing you to fit into the groove of trendy District 2's ever-changing residential area) Friendly staff and very very helpful. Courtesy river transport to and from the city. Grounds magnificent. Pool sparkling. Rooms in keeping with French Colonial theme ... so relaxing ... rain or shine. Breakfast delicious and fine dining at restaurant ... superb. Anything they could do to help you enjoy your stay ... they did. Would go back in a heartbeat !!!!"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Lovely"
"This is our second visit to Golden Buddha, the first was 4 years. I would say that many things have improved since then, First and foremost, the new manager, Massi, is truly wonderful - what a change! The restaurant have been rebuilt and now looks more smart, a new shop has been added and a pizza bar near the beach has been built. The staff is extremely friendly and smiley - many thanks to Nin, who works at the restaurant - she is a gem. The massages, we had one every day for 11 days are great too. We loved the food, but I think guests would welcome a slightly wider selection of dishes. The villas are truly well kept and very comfortable - I would recommend staying in a beachfront one and away from the restaurant. You also may want to check how close your particular cottage is to the neighbouring one. the island, with its long, deserted beaches is unique. the fact that there are truly just 3 resorts, of which Golden Buddha is the smartest, remains a big plus to us. There are a couple of things we were not too keen on. I should say that we decided to return to Golden Buddha to relax, enjoy the peace and quietness and pick up yoga again. Since our last visit the resort seems to have become popular with families with young children. Whilst some kids were well behaved, others where not and it made dinner and breakfast at the clubhouse less enjoyable that it might have been. The biggest disappointment were the yoga classes. Alex, the so called teaches ranted at each lesson about, what he called, new age yoga. Basically everything but the pure original yoga. He therefore stated that he was tracking Indian gymnastic instead. What was most annoying was his lack of interest and the fact that he did not want to correct people, hence, in my view, did not teach at all. Lastly, prices for food and massages were a tini bit high I thought and I would recommend that the resort buys lounge chairs for all its guests. In any case, I would still highly recommend Golden Buddha,. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Satri House: "Charme et raffinement"
"Nous avons été séduits par cet hôtel situé à qqs minutes du centre ville. Calme absolu dans un cadre enchanteur. Bel espace piscine, très bon restaurant. Des bicyclettes sont mises à disposition. Personnel très aimable. Nous recommandons vivement."Maduzi Hotel: "Truly a gem"
"Stayed at Maduzi for 5d4n. It was a Breeze to locate from Asok BTS. Take the airport express and stop at the station that links to Sukhumvit station. Since Sukhumvit and Asok are interchange stations, u just need to walk towards Asok and orientate from there. It's a 5 mins walk. Bear in mind that the entrance is along Ratchadaprisek Rd, main rd right at the start of Soi 16. If u look from Asok station, locate Clover hotel and walk in that direction. The minute we entered, we were greeted by a very sexy lobby, like an A&F boutique. Check in was a Breeze and we were brought to our room. The lift was equally sexy but some may find it too dark cos of the mood lighting. Our room was on Level A, with M being the topmost. The floors are numbered M A D U Z I and lobby. As we entered our room, we were greeted by a pantry with our own coffee machine and a free minibar (light snacks, drinks). The FREE minibar is topped up daily and I loved it. Coconut juice to end each day was godsend. The pantry door slides open to reveal a HUMONGOUS room. I could roll over 3.5 times and still be on the bed. It is HUGE and comfy. I find the pillows too soft for my liking but with 5 pillows on the bed, it's heaven. There's a work table beside the bed, separated by a partition wall so if u need to get work done, you won't bother those who are trying to get some rest. The Bose sound system is amazing! With auxiliary cables provided, u can plug in ur iPod or phones to play your own music. Hidden at the back is the toilet, dressing area, wardrobe and safe, and bath. I love the spacious dressing area. Long counter so u don't have to wrestle for space. Good supply of personal amenities such as toothbrush kit, comb, hair dryer etc. During shower time, you can opt for a stand up shower or the IN ROOM JACUZZI! Since the hotel does not have a pool, the jacuzzi is the best place to soak and relax after a tiring day out. Panpuri toiletries are provided which smells sooooooo good. We also bought bath bombs from the stalls in chatuchak market for added pampering. Breakfast every morning is served at the restaurant at the lobby floor. U are given a choice of 5-6 items, all of which are enough to fuel us for the morning. We also tried room service which was equally delicious and affordable. For those who do not wanna spend about $10-$12 for pad Thai, can just walk across to the 7-11 to grab stuff to eat. Overall, the hotel is conveniently located. Just 5-7mins walk to Terminal 21 and 15mins walk to Healthland Asoke Massage centre. But this hotel is a gem of a find. I will definitely return to stay here again and will recommend it to those who are coming to Bangkok!"Reverie Siam Pai: "Luxury stay at Pai"
"This property is really astonishing. Very beautiful and fully equipped room, luxury restaurant and 2 nice pools. A shuttle (some sort of Rolls Royce golf caddy) from the hotel picks you up and drops you off again at the bus station. The shuttle drives you to town every 30 mins. Reception ladies really helpful and friendly. Only thing that was a bit less: the cocktails were rather expensive and more ice then Cocktail. The hotel has some home infused gins, so we had to try that one out. But after one, we called it a day. Too much Baht for that amount of drink. I guess its a bit a normal standard in this kind of luxury hotels. But that is really the only downside I can think of."
