The Island Lodge: "Very recommended place"
I didn’t stay here, I only visit friend whom was staying there. This place a hidden gem, very quiet and peaceful. I really impressed when the owner also greet the their customers and visitors, the staff also very friendly. I tried their croissant, the taste just so lovely. Maybe sometime I would love to come back and stay there with friends for a night.Satri House: "Bliss!"
The resort is absolutely beautiful and the staff are brilliant :) They spoke perfect English and made everything super easy. The location is a couple of blocks out of town so the free bikes are a good idea.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Luxurious, Eco – Friendly!"
"After a month of trekking and sight seeing in Nepal. Tiger Mountain was a much welcomed stay. Marcus was an absolutely fantastic host along with his staff. Both went above and beyond to accomodate and ensure we were having the best of times. Definitely recommend to anyone travelling Nepal // January 2018"Supanniga Eating Room: "So much goodness"
The crab is fabulous, but I can't get enough of the wing bean salad. I know, salad right? But is just so good.Mie Cafe: "Excellent fashionable fusion cuisine"
Great food with creative and exciting dishes sophisticatedly presented. Perfect if you are fed up with 100% authentic Cambobian food and want to spice it up a bit. Not the best value for money in our opinion but an excellent dining experience.Reverie Siam: "Pure indulgence"
"My wife and I absolutely lover our stay here. I would go as far to stay it is the nicest hotel/resort we have ever stayed in. We chose the villa with your own private hot tub looking out over the gardens - highly recommended! The pool areas are gorgeous and peaceful. The food is all top class... Highlights for me were the coconut waffles for lunch and the meat tapas board for a late lunch. Also live music every night was a nice touch when enjoying dinner and wine. We hired a motorbike but the hotel have a free shuttle to take you in and out of Pai. Thanks to all the staff for welcoming us, we had a great time :) "Sukoon Houseboat: "Floating Fantasy!"
This was my first houseboat experience and it was wonderful! After driving the hideous road from Kargil (which was in itself ugly and dirty) arriving at Sukoon was such a welcome paradise. Clean lines, white sheets, excellent food and a great shower! Simply spectacular! The staff were incredibly friendly, especially Babu and the view was beautiful!Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Wonderful property with a few tiny misses"
"Walking into the Blue Mansion really does take your breath away. It's a beautiful property with a sense of serene grandeur that photos don't *quite* do justice. Every courtyard, corridor, staircase and room just looked beautiful. The feeling of tranquility was such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of George Town. There is a new pool that is opening in January apparently. We could see it through a window and it looks AMAZING. The 3 daily tours (don't go into guest wings) gave a great historical background to the property, walking through the building afterwards you could feel the echoes of past inhabitants. Overall Would definitely stay here again, serene, relaxing, historical, photogenic! Room We stayed in a Liang room - Towkay. Liang is the base room type, but it is very big and spacious. Comfortable and appropriately decorated in keeping with the mansion. Snacks and juices were provided daily. The room was really welcoming and relaxing to come back to after a humid day of urban hiking and eating! Some other reviews mentioned mosquitos, we didn't have any problem. We were staying in the quiet wing, away from the hawker centre next door. That side has some decorative pools, so maybe an issue on that side, but we didn't have any problem at all with mosquitos or noise. Breakfast The breakfast is served in the central courtyard and was fine. Good coffee, fruits toasts, DELICIOUS spreads. There is also an a la carte menu of around 6 choices of local and western cooked breakfasts, which were good also. Not spectacular, but good. We didn't eat lunch or dinner there. The staff could sometimes take a looonng time to acknowledge you and the cooked breakfast could take it's time. Coffee was good :) Location Great. Walking distance to everything you need. Close to a hop on hop off bus stop if that takes your fancy. Service Good by Malaysian standards. Calls to the front desk were dealt with promptly, friendly and cheerful at all times. Tiny Misses The wifi in the room was great on the first day and then terrible for the next day or two. Really, really frustrating when using to research things to do and book tours etc. When we asked if it was being fixed, we were offered a pocket wifi to use out and about and in the room. This may have been mentioned in the room booklet, but we didn't notice it until our last day! We arranged an airport transfer, and understand that this is always going to cost way more than a taxi or uber. Pick up was good, in a nice car. Return trip they put us in a taxi that I think was waiting for someone else, the driver put the meter on when we sat down and had no idea that it was paid for by the hotel and had to go back in and check. I don't think they actually booked the return trip. We could have got a taxi ourselves and paid half the price we did. PS. Uber is so super cheap in Penang! Nice Touches Juices, treats most afternoons, and some nice soaps as Christmas presents (we were there on Christmas day), friendly front desk staff. Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from the Red Garden hawker centre. Ask for pocket wifi on arrival!"The Island Lodge: "Perfect"
"We went on a Les Rives Cruise (two day cruise) and this was our overnight stop. I cannot fault this place. The swimming pool is wonderful and it's right next to the Mekong so you have wonderful unspoilt views. While swimming I spotted a kingfisher (or similar) just perched nearby. We enjoyed some lovely French wine with dinner and the food was very nice. I am vegetarian and I wouldn't say it's exceptional but there are enough options. The live music at dinner was also a wonderful touch. Breakfast was amazing - but a big risk of over ordering. The small cakes on arrival and by the pool were a lovely touch and tasted great. Our room had a wonderful view over the Mekong. I very much wished we'd stayed longer and it is the perfect place to relax. It's also a relatively small hotel so never feels crowded."Misool Eco Resort: "Most incredible scuba diving"
"Where to start!!! Misool is truly unique! You arrive on a fast launch, to a wonderful tropical island, you are greeted on the jetty by all the waving friend staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The island is set up wonderfully for scuba divers, fully equipped dive centre with nitrox that is free to qualified divers, you can hire equipment or take your own. A dedicated area is available for you to work on your camera equipment. You could do 4 dives a day if you wish too. Dive sites are accessed by fast boats, many sites are only 15 minutes away or less. All dive sites are wonderful! The corals are in pristine condition from down deep right to the surface. The fish life in variety and quantity is truly amazing! The Maldives 35 years ago was fantastic, Misool today even beats that NOW!!!! Why? The team at Misool and their wonderful Rangers and their Charity have a huge No Take zone and this is paramount in protecting the area. You can stay in a very comfortable water bungalow, near the dive centre and restaurant or you can stay in a very secluded bungalows on the south beach. These are accessed by steep steps up and down over the hill. A boat taxi is available at certain tide states. Meals are extremely healthy using lots of local ingredients. I found that for me the strong Indonesian influence was not always to my taste. It is hard to fault Misool! I consider a stay there is A TRIP of a LIFE TIME !!! May Misool go from strength to strength!!!! Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"
