Tugu Lombok: "world class tropical island resort"

Review by: michael b | Source: Trip Advisor
"We recently stayed at hotel Tugu for our honeymoon. From the moment we were picked up at the airport the hotel staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel staff were always very friendly, and happily greeted us at breakfast, lunch and dinner and whenever we were out and about in the resort. The staff were very enthusiastic to offer us activities around the island during our stay. We were pretty much able to make any of our Lombok dreams come true. We were able to experience traditional weaving in a traditional women's weaving village, amazing water falls at sanur, my husband hand fished with the local fisherman, snorkeling with turtles in beautiful clear waters off the Gili islands and a beautiful romantic beach side dinner at sunset. our honeymoon at hotel Tugu was an absolutely amazing experience. We were welcomed like family, a perfect getaway. Complementary breakfast and afternoon tea was always wonderful and of the highest quality. The complimentary massages were very welcoming as well, thank you. Half way through our stay we were generously upgraded to an Oceanside villa with a plunge pool which was extremely generous, thank you Mr Henry. We traveled in low season and it felt like we pretty much had the whole resort all to ourselves. If you want seclusion, privacy, away from ""the rat race"", relaxation, beautiful surroundings, wonderful atmosphere ,world class service and a romantic tropical island beach resort get away, we would highly recommend hotel tugu Lombok. A special thanks to hotel manager Henry and every single one of his amazing team on there attention to detail and customer service we received at all times throughout our stay. We will definitely be back in the future. Mr & Mrs Bruno Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Villa Song Saigon: "Is Villa Song as good as before"

Review by: David B | Source: Trip Advisor
We visited Villa Song in May 2015. Our review was a bit gushing but accurate. We finally made it back for our second visit hoping it would be as good.......it is better. If you were to write a handbook as to how to run a 5 Star boutique hotel, start with Villa Song. Nothing is left to chance. The staff are professional, friendly, efficient and so happy. The rooms are stylish and very comfortable. The pool and public areas are excellent. The restaurant puts out superb, beautifully presented food created by Chef Kevin and his brigade - you won't get bored with his brilliant and evolving menu. A guest asked for a drink from the bar that the bar staff were not familiar with. My wife told them the ingredience but before they gave it to the guest, they mixed two and brought them to our room to see which was better before mixing it for their guest.....service? I could go on and on about the hotel. In my first review I said that they treat you like an honored guest. This time we felt like friends. Who knows - next time we may be treated like family and have to make our bed and wash our own dishes...we will still be back as soon as we can. 'Our Second Home'

Everything was excelent. The staff are very helpfull. Can't wait to stay again in this perfect hotel. This is a gorgeous hotel. The setting is peaceful and glorious and the staff is high quality & professional. Tugu Bali: "Unique property. Wonderful staff"

Review by: HappyTraveller9999 | Source: Trip Advisor
This boutique hotel is impressive. We were wowed from the moment we arrived. The hotel is a museum and houses an impressive collection of art and sculpture. Ask Ari for a tour as he's a wealth of info on the history of each piece. We choose a Dedari suite with a private plunge pool, an amazing outdoor shower/bath that overlooked a private coy pond and the most comfy hotel bed I've ever slept in. The hotel is a two minute walk to the beach. I walked the beach each morning but preferred to lie by the swimming pool and enjoy the serenity. The staff are attentive and kind and the service is exceptional. Sri was outstanding and really took care of us during our 3 day stay. The restaurant menu is substantial. The food is delicious. You can order a meal anytime and eat it anywhere on the property. There's also afternoon tea. The Japanese restaurant is in a Chinese temple reconstructed on the property and is beautifully decorated. Thursday night is cultural dance night and not to be missed. We also tried the spa - seashell facial, pedicure and Balinese massage. It was the best massage I'd had in all of Bali! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend the Tugu. I would definitely choose this hotel brand again! Thanks to Jenny and Ari and the team for the wonderful vacation.

Satri House: "Really lovely!"

Review by: Dmf6375 | Source: tripadvisor.com
I looked at many, many hotels online for Luang Prabang and could not have been happier with my choice. This property is absolutely lovely - a serene and tranquil escape after busy days of sightseeing! The staff could not have been more hospitable and accommodating, and the food was great! Stayed for a week utilizing all the various services - dining room for a variety of meals, pool, spa, bar, library - all terrific. Special kudos to the staff who were truly so nice!

Mie Cafe: "Great Authentic Cambodian Food"

Review by: kellyjay | Source: Trip Advisor
We recently ate here and had some very well prepared authentic khmer cusine for an extremely reasonable price. The fish amok and chicken amok were wonderfully prepared as was the pork mixed with eggplant and not overly spicy beef curry. Nice atmosphere and good service.

Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Traditional Exotic Hotel Perfect Location"

Review by: RacheleAustralia | Source: Trip Advisor
"My son (16) and I stayed in this traditionally styled hotel. We were seeking a 'real Korean experience' and that is what we received during our stay and didn't want to be stuck in a western hotel. We chose traditional style bedding but could have selected western style and they would have switched beds. We chose western style breakfasts and they were first class (complimentary). My son looked forward to breakfast everyday. Our washing was done everyday (complimentary), fridge in room with 4xdrinks (complimentary each day), wifi (complimentary). Aircon was fine as was the bathroom, perhaps a bit tricky for elderly to get into the bath/shower if not so nimble - we had no issues! The hotel owner Mr Kim and his staff met all our needs and requests in an instant. Only 4 or 5 groups of guests at anytime and they all received the same level of service. The hotel is just a few hundred metres from the subway, airport bus and very close to all the main tourist areas (although study map before to be sure of directions - we used iPhone maps rather than google maps as it was superior). Tourist information centres were in each tourist district and near our the subway. We ate vegetarian (and fish) and preferred to eat in Japanese styled restaurants when Korean food got a little complicated or just meat/spicy. The hotel is not far from a few 'local styled' supermarkets that are in the main tourist strip in the adjacent street/lane nearby with all the restaurants and lots of tourists. Just one of many tourist options in the vicinity. We stayed 5 nights but I think we could have achieved a great insight into Seoul in 3 or at most 4 nights max."

Villa Song Saigon: "Fantastic boutique hotel, plus free speedboat and minibar"

Review by: Simon W | Source: Trip Advisor
"We absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful, quaint, great staff, lovely food and wonderful rooms. It's no wonder that this is the top hotel in Saigon on Trip Advisor (at the time of writing). We stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the pool, with a deeply comfy double bed, separate shower room and washing facilities, TV, private balcony and all the usual mod cons included. Their service is second to none. There's a free minibar in all rooms (including beer, water, milk and juice). They serve breakfast at any time of the day (seriously - you could have it at 10pm if you REALLY sleep in), and it's included in the price of the room. And electricity can be left on in your suite when you leave, meaning those devices that keep dying might actually get charged. They have UK plug sockets too. Best of all, as the hotel is not right in the city centre, they put on a speedboat to ferry guests to the main bit of the city, on a first come first served basis. (Although it was never full when we stayed in May). The boat takes approximately 15-20 minutes, but you'd wish it would be longer, because it's brilliant. The last boat is at 6pm, and a taxi back to the hotel should set you back 150,000 VND. If it's more than that, they've got lost! The pool is excellent, as is their restaurant, which is overseen by Kevin the chef from Luxembourg - who will certainly seek you out to say hello, or offer some food and drink recommendations. Food and drink here, incidentally, is a few more pennies by Vietnamese standards, but very fair when compared to the rest of Saigon, and even better when compared to the likes of London. Breakfast, which I briefly mentioned, is very good. The best we had in Vietnam, in fact. And it offers up some really well done variations of Western classics like pancakes or a full English versus your traditional and excellent Pho noodle soup. (If you're really hungry, you can even have both - in fact, it was them who suggested it, which I greedily accepted). Their staff are great, too. When we wanted to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, the front desk organised a speedboat to pick us up from the hotel's own private jetty - and one of the highlights of our trip. If I was to take points off this hotel, and it is being picky, then their airport to hotel transfer service is very expensive in comparison to most hotels we stayed at in Vietnam (all of which have a comparative distance from airport to destination). It was a nice air conditioned private car, but then it was no better than every other hotel provided us. And 1,386,000 VND is a bit steep. Full disclosure: they had quoted this price to me some time before we arrived in Vietnam, and I could have shopped around for cheaper prices, so I can't really blame them for quoting a price to me and then accepting it. But it might be something they could look at in the future! The taxi they booked us for our return to the airport after our stay was much, much cheaper at 300,000 VND. So maybe shop around for your original pick-up. I know there's loads of 'taxi scams' in Vietnam, but you should be able to find a decent service for cheaper transfers if you need. None of that dented out love of Villa Song Saigon, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I really miss their speedboat..."

Sea Dance Resort: "A gem of a hotel"

Beautiful quiet resort not far from the liveliness of Chaweng. A very personal service from the best staff ever, who used our first names. Great breakfast & fabulous food, especially the set menu on Weds.
