Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "A must do in Mekong Delta"
We travelled on Bassac 111 with Annie who is charming and lovely, very clear with her instructions and information. Food is amazing, you never seem to stop eating and it is superb. Cabins are comfortable but compact as you would expect on a junk with only a small number. The trip to local village where Annie's Aunty lived was interesting, authentic look at delta life. Very relaxing on board, great views, peaceful and quiet. A highlight of our holiday. The Island Lodge: "Safe Haven"
On arrival, our car dropped us. You have to take a small path to get to the hotel. This lush haven is by the Mekong River. We are greeted with a great "welcome drink". The rooms are beautiful, spacious and decorated tastefully. We are in the midst of lush nature and facing the Mekong. Children have much appreciated the lovely large pool. What happiness! The Village House: "Gorgeous Boutique Hotel"
This is the perfect place to unwind for a few days. It's an easy 40 min drive from Kuching, and it's incredibly relaxing and peaceful. It's a simple hotel but a lot of care and love has gone into its set up and decoration, and it was full of beautiful artwork from local artists. The rooms were lovely (we stayed in the Raj room), the food was delicious and the service wonderful and attentive.Locavore: "VERY fresh and different"
"My BFF and I went straight to this restaurant for lunch after landing in BAli at 10am. Took us about 45 min to get to Ubud and we walked over from Sens Hotel and Spa to get there in time for our 1pm lunch reservation. Took us about 2.5 hours to finish the multitude of courses! The food was different and oh so very fresh. First time I had deep fried tempura style leaves and other assortments of dishes. I have tried Andre in Singapore before but the way locavore did the dishes were so different. The herb they seem to used allot is Tamarind, it was featured in quite a few of their dishes. Their cocktails were also nice. My friend had the ROJAK cocktail and boy it really did taste of rojak but in a super refreshing way. there are 2 menus only to choose from, either Vegetarian OR Meat & Fish. :) Price difference is about 100K IDR between both."Maison Polanka: "A haven and a retreat"
Stepping back rough the private gates into this beautiful estate with its garden, pool and delightful traditional house and rooms, was a perfect balance for the busy town and temple trips. The team lead by Kathy and Francis were all superb and nothing was too much trouble. We took a package that included guide and transport. We used the massage facilities also. Cold towels on hand as we returned from our trips out, glasses of iced water by the pool was all part of the welcome. just 5 rooms in total meant that it was like a private villa. We stayed in the Green Room in the main house which has a large terrace with seating and fans and is the nicest room being the original sitting room of the house before it was a hotel.Villa Song Saigon: "Classic Oasis in Saigon"
"Villa Song Saigon provided my family with a great two days in Saigon. It is a quiet and classic getaway away from hustle and bustle of the city. The staff was incredibly welcoming and took great care of my family of five. The breakfast was delicious and the river side location enjoyable. It combines classic architecture and modern amenities. If you are looking to be in the center of District 1, this is not the place for you. However, there is nothing in District 1 that can come close the the classic Saigon experience of Villa Song Saigon. Room Tip: If you don't like climbing stairs, choose a room on the first or second floor."Chakrabongse Villas: "Perfect oasis in Bangkok"
"I had a wonderful time staying at Chakrabongse Villas. I had hoped for a leafy enclave to get away from the bustle and pollution of Bangkok whilst still being well located to explore the city. It was that and much more. The private complex has an interesting history, and the setting gives views of the Grand Palace right across from its own section of the river bank. There is a traditional longboat and speedboat available for guests' use, whilst the Garden suite is well equipped with a very comfortable bed, and incense burning outside! The staff, however, made the trip for me. They were charming and friendly and made me feel completely looked after. I very much hope to return - thank you again to the team at Chakrabongse Villas."Rachamankha: "Quiet luxury"
Is simply perfect. Very well located. Great service. Elegant with style. Delicious breakfasts serve the precious Chinese dishes. Wonderful swimming pool. Just 26 rooms distributed around two internal cloisters as gardens. unforgettable hotel. Plenty of antiquities. Very much recommended4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Too bad there are no 6 star ratings"
"We stayed at 4 Rivers for a week, and wish we could have stayed for a month. As the boat arrives and the machine is turned off, you look around and you know you are going to spend an incredible time. This place is like no other: not only it has reached perfection in service, style, cleanliness and comfort, but also it allows you to rest and relax while appreciating all the beauties of the region. Yet the most exceptional thing about this resort is the staff. They have been caring, extraordinary helpful from the beginning until the very last moments. We cannot thank you enough for what you've done… but we'll try ;) First, thank you Bona for giving us the warmest greeting, making sure to explain everything, and taking on board with us to the resort (plus, your cocktails are delicious). Then, a big thanks to the tour guides, Vy, Sambo and Naren, you are great people and the funniest guys. Thank you to the restaurant team, Kenneth and E-J, you were adorable and always smiling. Thank you Adonis for your constant good mood, your big smile and your fun personality. Last but not least, thank you Anna for your precious time and for being the most amazing encounter we had in Cambodia. Keep doing what you do for the local children, for the biodiversity and for your team!! We will definitely come back... Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Great Stay!"
"We stayed at Golden Buddha Beach Resort for 3 Nights. The resort is surrounded by great nature and a beautiful, amazing Beach. It‘s very quiet except for all the great animal sound. Wild life nature The staff was very nice and super helpful with everything. Some sun beds on the big beach would have been nice since not every Bungalow is Beach front . Food was ok, small plates. If you need a Break from Thai food the beachbar serves Great Pizza. We definitely recommend this resort!"
