Les Maisons d’Itac: "Surprising quality"
We took our staff for a company outing to this property over 3 nights. We are surprised with the quality of the villas, cabanas and pools and the amazing service that was provided. They are really lovely people and Bryan manages the place very well. We had no complaints and nothing went wrong,We purchased our foods and they cooked for us. Its a very quiet and peaceful location which is hard to find in Philippines. The only downsides are the long trip to get there which is about 3 hours and the lack of a beach to swim. On the plus side there are interesting activities around the place like kawasan falls and oslob whale watch, Ideal for people needing such a holiday or company affairs.Glenburn Tea Estate: "All you need to know about tea"
A fantastic three night stay on the Glenburn Tea Estate. Amazing, sumptuous suite with fabulous views of Kanchanjunga, Sikkim and Darjeeling. Delightful guide lead walks around the tea plantations and a very interesting tour of the tea factory complete with tea tasting. The food was exquisite, the setting dreamlike and the service second to none. The 40 minute jeep drive from the main road down a very bumpy, twisty track descending 3000 ft is not for the feint hearted, but for others it may add to the adventure. The drivers were marvellous. We never fealt unsafe.Tugu Bali: "the dream holiday"
"I have been to TUGU Bali few times and every time it is more and more relaxing and pleasant. I find great the idea that a guest can have breakfast at ANY TIME without bothering about timing..and ANYWHERE (pool, room, sea front...). The spa is also very pleasant! and if you have time you can also follow a cooking class..!!...I always felt pampered at TUGU!!....and, last but not least, the staff is excellent, professional and always caring about the guests needs. I will returner sure!"Villa Song: "Beautiful hotel, grounds and artwork."
Our family of 4 stayed in a suite with balcony. Bedroom area was a little cramped with one extra bed for our girls to share, lots of room in the entrance/bathroom/balcony though. Close enough to get to town with ease and so quiet and relaxing to come back to. Kids loved the pool and we really enjoyed our included massages. The artwork and attention to detail were lovely. Staff were great, super helpful. Would have liked to stay longer.CHAKRABONGSE VILLAS: "The perfect oasis in the heart of Old Bangkok"
"I have used tripadvisor to plan trips for years, but our magical time at the Chakrabongse Villas has finally inspired me to write a review of my own. We could not have found a more perfect place to spend the final 3 days of a 2 week trip to SE Asia. Atom, the manager, and her staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful in making our stay in Bangkok so special, and upgraded us to the Garden View Suite, which was lovely. Tucked away in beautiful, lush gardens right on the banks of the Chao Praya river and directly across from Wat Pho and a short distance to the Grand Palace, the Chakrabongse Villas, is truly a hidden gem. Being in the heart of Old Bangkok meant that we could return to the hotel for a quick dip in the gorgeous pool to cool off from the infamous Bangkok heat before heading out for the next excursion. I highly recommend arranging to have dinner at the Chakrabongse Villas for an unforgettable experience - the dinner we had with a private table set up on the terrace right next to the river was the most romantic, and one of the most delicious, we've ever had (the owner is a descendant of the Thai kings Rama IV & V so the dishes are from the Royal Family's own recipes). We also enjoyed our tour of Bangkok's canals in the Chakrabongse Villa's own long tail boat. If you are looking for the perfect boutique hotel that offers a peaceful, historical oasis in hectic and hot Bangkok, then I cannot recommend Chakrabongse Villas highly enough. Thank you, Atom, for helping to make our stay so extraordinary. "Reverie Siam: "Loved it and will definitely come back"
"This hotel came strongly recommended by a friend and I wasn't disappointed. Though it's not far from the relatively busy center of Pai (the resort provides a free shuttle service), the Reverie Siam feels like a different world. It's perfectly peaceful, with nothing but mountains and green fields as far as the eye can see. There's a lovely colonial aesthetic to the place and an attention to detail that I really enjoyed (books left open to specific passages in rooms, benches engraved with quotes). The staff honestly couldn't have been more thoughtful. From arranging a dinner reservation and dropping me at the restaurant to purchasing bus tickets and making sure I got a good seat for my return journey, they definitely went the extra mile to make my time more enjoyable. The breakfast, which comes with options like cappuccino French toast with caramelized mango, is also a big plus. I'm looking forward to coming back here. It's the perfect spot to curl up for a weekend and I'd happily recommend it to anyone."Inle Princess Resort: "Perfect balance between East and West"
"We loved our two nights at the Inle Princess and wish we'd had longer. Approaching the hotel in a canoe with a local oarsman foot-rowing was the start to a wonderfully relaxing and romantic stay. It is always tricky getting the balance between traditional style and atmosphere on one hand and modern needs on the other. I think they get it just right. The hotel is a series of traditional Burmese wooden houses with verandas, tiny gardens and an additional outdoor shower cabin. We had a lakeside view with wonderful sunsets. It is all beautifully landscaped with paths (lit by small lights at night) winding through trees. There's a pool and a spa where you can get a treatment and enjoy another stunning view. To our surprise there were no insects, apparently they come with the better weather. None even around lights in the garden. August turned out to be not a bad month to go - very few tourists, no bugs and (apart from an occasional downpour) good weather. All the staff were smiley and helpful and the whole place had a peaceful atmosphere. Our room and bathroom were large. The wash area was tucked away separately so the bathroom was basically a large room with a tub in the middle. The lighting was quite dim,so anyone putting on make-up would have a challenge not looking like a painted clown. Contrarily the curtains were quite thin so light streamed in once the sun was up. Large bed was very comfortable. We only ate Asian food and it was pretty good. Stick to cocktails, forget wine. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake will leave an enduring picture in my mind. I could have done without canned music which clashed with the atmosphere but I think it was only breakfast and in the bar. A day on the lake visiting floating islands and local craft-making was a delight. We had a tropical downpour and ponchos and umbrellas were immediately produced. We were on a tight schedule mixing work and holiday so couldn't have the 3 or 4 days we would have liked. For charm and a distinctive atmosphere this hotel deserves a good rating."YL Residence No.17: "Our wedding venue"
"This was our wedding venue for over 100 people last weekend. Pros: gorgeous location, good lawn to hold ceremony or reception, club house is big enough for contingency plan for 100 pax, good dance floor area and the rooms are lovely. You can sit out on the coconut lawn with your guests staying at the venue (we booked the whole place out over the weekend), it's very relaxing and the staff try their best to cater for your needs. Cons: communication leading up to and on the day of the wedding could be better. A few things went wrong (which had previously been discussed and agreed over emails and after a personal site visit made last August) such as glasses weren't pre filled for the first toast at our dinner, wine wasn't on the tables for guests to help themselves, the projector and audio during speeches broke and the team were very quick to jump in straight after dinner and clear everything out. The night before the wedding a unknown man came into my room at 4 am which was a bit odd - lucky I was in there to ward off any unwanted guests! The day after the wedding (Sunday) I was disappointed to see they had endorsed the next wedding structure to be set up right on the main lawn - we were checking out on the Monday and had just finished our farewell brunch so couldn't use the lawn even though we had booked all the rooms and paid ""location premium"" for exclusive use of the grounds. So it felt a bit sausage factory like - clearly it's a very popular venue! Overall I'd say it was a great wedding, very expensive but stunning location - you'll have to be patient with the emails and be prepared to invest a lot of time in going back and forth organising various members the YL Team and thinking of things that may be obvious - such as clearing the rubbish off the beach that YL overlooks."Arumdalu: "Best way to reconnect with nature, Arumdalu is your gateway to get-away"
"Arumdalu is the best place to get a little getaway from your hustle and bustles in daily life. This is the ultimate destination to connect with the nature, enjoy the calm beach, catch the sunset, and to touch base with the unexplored. Sahang Beachfront, their in-house restaurant is one of the best restaurant on earth, where they serve delicious fusion culinary using their natural and organic ingredients. Overall, Arumdalu Private Resort Belitung is a must-visit place in your lifetime, it will be much worth it. Stayed March 2017, traveled on business"Pindaya Farm House: "A charming farmhouse"
Unlike many popular and expensive hotels in Myanmar with extravagant yet very poor in taste decorations, Pindaya farmhouse stands out with cozy and warm ambience. No TV, no hot shower but that’s ok... it’s more natural that way... It fits exactly for people who look for different tastes when they travel. Farm hosts are not only extremely hospitable, but very good in making meals. We are treated with beautiful breakfast of variety of farm grown fruits & Shan noodle. It’s almost like visiting a friend’s house for a night. It was during high festive season in Myanmar of Lighting Thadingyut festival when I was there. Many people make lanterns out of local Shan paper. Night sky was filled with floating paper lanterns. I can’t express how much I enjoyed staying there for a night. I wished I had more time to stay there a bit longer to do some cycling among those beautiful valleys, canola fields and wine yards. Needless to say how pleasant highland weather was. It was a memorable stay, it was an instant love and joy.
