Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Great staff, great views, enlightening walks"

Review by: ChicagoMarc | Source: Trip Advisor
Marcus Cotton and the rest of the Tiger Mountain family have created a unique oasis in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Superb food, well stocked bar, appropriately appointed rooms and a morning view from the infinity pool that simply cannot be believed combine to let you relax from the bustle of Kathmandu and enjoy the rest of the country as you continue your trip after a few days. While Pokhara had its pleasures, we found the nature walk, particularly the interaction with locals (particularly children) from the homes scattered nearby, to be one of the highlights of our almost month long trip. We were there prior to the date in the TripAdvisor menu, but our travel agent says the location remains largely unchanged. When we talk about checking off all the bucket list places, and starting round two, Tiger Mountain is always the first location mentioned. We'll be back, Marcus...

Supanniga Eating Room: "Consistantly good"

Review by: Aureliochine1 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We've hit Supanniga again last night. Every time (twice a year) we come to Bangkok we make sure to have dinner there and have always been rewarded for sticking to good old habits. Last night was no exception. We tried to innovate choosing dishes we'd never tried before and were pleased with every single taste. Service was as always attentive. Supanigga remains a good destination for whoever is looking for good thai food with a twist in a cozy yet animated environment"

Maison Polanka: "Our second home"

Review by: Brandon O | Source: Trip Advisor
We just loved how they treat their guests like their own family. We stayed here for 4 days and loved it. Our room is so clean and the best part is that the food being served to us when we go back to the hotel after a long tiring day at the temple is tasty! Over all the place itself is magical. We loved the pool an the garden with a lot of flowers blooming.

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Hidden Gem"

Review by: Slipper2 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Dear Marcus and team, we had such a lovely stay....2 nights just wasn't enough. Fantastic rooms, stunning views, out of this world food, great birdlife, informative nature walks, such friendly locals, a beautiful pool and a world class host. We'll be back. Oli, Sam, Jonathan & Sonya "

Inle Princess Resort: "Amazing hotel."

Review by: Rohan_8866 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Stayed at Inle princess for 2 nights on a family holiday to Burma. We had 3 rooms in total and unfortunately we didn't get the front river rooms but even the standard rooms are quite unique and special in their design and construction. It was cold in the month of February especially in the evenings and night but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The bathroom got much colder but it was manageable. We travelled by boat throughout our two days in inle- which was also an amazing experience. Service at the hotel was excellent. We usually ate our lunches in the market, but had all the dinners in the hotel itself as it's not possible to travel out at night. Every avocado dish was outstanding. We also got a 60 mins couple massage at the hotel which was ok. Disappointed that they didn't have the option to take a steam included with the message as this was priced separately and the amenities/ facilities didn't seem worth the extra cost. Overall a great stay, beautiful hotel, highly recommend!"

Satri House: "Quiet and relaxed"

Review by: H4Holidays | Source: Trip Advisor
"Thank you to all the very kind and helpful staff at the hotel who gave us lots of good advice, arranged tuktuk and minibus drivers and always had a friendly word. The rooms are fine, a bit cramped but comfortable. Snacks left in the afternoon were a nice treat after a day out. Breakfast was wonderful with lots to eat and a big pot of tea. The jams are amazing and I don't usually eat jam! Sitting in the bar in the evening after eating out and visiting the night market was lovely. The hotel is very close to town. Leave by the back route by the pool if going into town. We recommend this hotel and thank all the friendly staff for a lovely stay."

Mathis Retreat: "Ultimate Relaxation"

Review by: emily r | Source: Trip Advisor
"I've stayed at this hotel with my parents twice - once in 2014 and once in 2016. It was then known as Kenanga. I hope that the name change doesn't impact anything else, because our stays were both so perfect. The staff are SO attentive and friendly. The service is really amazing. You're welcomed with warm smiles every morning, and really begin to feel at home. We stayed in the bungalows the first time. They are renovated so beautifully, with a cool and comfortable design. Every detail, from the bathtub to the nightstand to the soaps, seems to be intentionally planned. The second time we stayed in normal rooms. Like the bungalow, the room was lovely (only a little smaller). The only difference is that the bungalow is closer to the pool/restaurant and that the room has a nicer view of the rice paddies. All in all, I could stay in either and be just as content. The entire property is so beautiful and peaceful. They play quiet but fitting music in the open air restaurant, the pool is spotless and has a perfect temperature, there are shady and sunny spots surrounding the pool to read and relax at, the restaurant is beautiful during day and night, and the hotel isn't too far away from Ubud. During both stays we walked from the hotel to Ubud, and it's really a charming walk. The drive is less than ten minutes. I would really recommend staying outside of Ubud and going into the town during the day. It's a lot more peaceful. When I look back on our stays at Kenanga, I really feel an inner bliss. The food (again, I hope this stays the same in spite of the name change) is actually AMAZING. You have several different breakfast choices from the menu, all of which are prepared so well. It leaves you full, but not too full like at many other buffet-style breakfasts. I hate to be the kind of tourist who eats most meals at the hotel, but I have to admit that my mom and I ate two of four dinners at the hotel. Absolutely no regrets. The food is so tasty, and you can choose from local flavors to western food. I mean it when I say that this is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. They also prepare the most lovely drinks out of all kinds of fresh fruit. I'm under 18, so I only had fresh juices, but I'm sure their cocktail and alcohol selection is great. The kitchen really knows how to use natural ingredients. I had papaya juice every morning with my breakfast, and tried out several of their mixed juices during the evening when my parents had wine. My family usually doesn't go back to past destinations, and definitely not back to old hotels, just because second and third stays usually can't compare with first impressions. Kenanga is an outlier, however. We couldn't help but return for a second stay, and I'm having a hard time not knowing when I'll get to go back again. I hope everything about this hotel stays the same - the atmosphere, the charm, the service, the food, the views, and the size. I'm fine with a name change (though the name Kenanga has a special place in my heart) as long as the experience will be the same whenever I get a chance to return."

The Island Lodge: "Great weekend get-away from Saigon"

Review by: HanKeMi | Source: Trip Advisor
We spent a wonderful weekend at the Island Lodge Beautiful surroundings, great service. An extremely convenient destination for weekend get-aways from the hustle and bustle of Saigon. We came with our toddler and everything was made easy for him and us. The bike and boat tour was lovely.

Supanniga Eating Room: "Excellent food and great service."

Review by: bencomley | Source: Trip Advisor
We had some really different and interesting dishes at this restaurant with the unrepeatable name for westerners. The Isan cuisine from northeast thailand has some really unique flavours and is distinct from most of the food you'll have tasted in standard Thai restaurants. The prices are high for the area but still a bargain. Service was excellent and the obligatory sticky rice with mango was delicious. Without any alcohol we spent 1,700 baht on mains and a shared pudding and some fancy fresh fruit drinks. Highly recommended.
