Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Wonderful food, setting & service"

Review by: Rob S | Source: Trip Advisor
Don't know why this is not No. 1 restaurant in Siem Reap. Have been 3 times in last 5 months and tried many other upmarket restaurants, this is by far the best. Flavours of Cambodian food explode in your mouth in a wonderful tasting presentation by the French chef. Other Cambodian restaurants try and some are very good but this is miles ahead of all others. Can't wait to go back.

Inle Princess Resort: "Perfect"

Review by: eliza725 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We can entirely recommend this resort - in fact I can't think of a single criticism (except that wifi could be better, but that is true of everywhere in Myanmar. Give it time) The setting is lovely - the hotel insists that all boats arrive rowed with their motors off to keep the tranquility, which also means there is lovely bird life to observe. Food is delicious - and you can see their carefully tended organic vegetable garden. There are lots of little touches that make a difference - the personal welcome note on handmade paper, the mosquito repellant at dinner, the bikes, the little appetiser at dinner.... They say they are conscious of conservation and we saw evidence of that. plus the staff here seem genuinely happy Genuinely recommend."

Mathis Retreat: "Small, peaceful and calming paradise in the ricefields"

Review by: Ajda S | Source: Trip Advisor
My boyfriend and I started our Bali journey in the heart of the island. After a good hour drive we arrived at the Kenanga Boutique Hotel in Ubud and were totally amazed by it only after a few minutes of our stay. Away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud downtown, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the rice fields. A sleep in the traditional-inspired suite made all the anxiety and jetlag disappear, the staff was extremely nice and made us feel very welcome, while the whole atmosphere left us feeling relaxed and peaceful. Beside the outstanding views, Kenanga has the most amazing infinity pool. A swim by the rice field panorama, relaxes your mind in a nicest way possible. I had one of the best breakfasts in there, the food overall was extremely delicious (I would highly suggest you visit their Terra Cotta restaurant for a healthy meal with the best view ever) The hotel was the perfect starting point for exploring the Ubud area (...) The reason more why I would recommend a Kenanga stay is the fact that they are highly connected with the local community, therefore they are helping good local people make their living. The manager was very kind and helpful, providing us with many relevant information. The overall experience exceeded our expectations, a calming and relaxing feel made us forget about the worries and opened the Bali trip we would surely never forget.

The Island Lodge: "“Thank you Michel"

Review by: Glyn T | Source: Trip Advisor
"Really enjoyed our two night stay with Michel and Francoise. This place is exactly what it says on the packet - a quiet retreat outside HCM. We tried the spa (massage) and the morning bike ride with Michel. Really enjoyed both. If l had one wish it would have been for a couple of stable classics on the menu - maybe a burger and a pasta. But the food was great so no issues there :) FYI. Car transfers took 2 hours from the city."

Rachamankha: "Luxury retreat"

Review by: Reblecka | Source: Trip Advisor
"A luxury hotel experience. Very helpful staff. They responded to every question or inquiry with great attention and desire to be as helpful as possible. Beautiful hotel. We had a standard room with a king sized bed, which was very nice and comfortable with a nice sized bathroom. Be sure to check out all the beautiful details of the grounds, pool, library, guest lounge area. We had an awesome couples Thai massage one evening that I'd highly recommend. There were a lot of mosquito's out in the evening, although i know they try to keep them away with coils, etc. I'm not sure if they spray for mosquitoes, if not, it could be worth considering. I would have liked to stay outside a bit more but mosquitoes love me so I had to retreat to our room. The restaurant and bar are lovely. The food was good but not amazing. With so much good food in Thailand, you might want to go elsewhere if you are only staying a couple nights. The location of the hotel in Chang Mai is okay but not the best for evening activities, which seemed to be more on the other side of town and a bit far to walk. Rather than walk late at night we would take a taxi or tuk tuk home in the evening. Thankfully the hotel provides cards with the name of the hotel so you can show those to the drivers because we never figured out the best way to pronounce the name of the hotel."

The Village House: "An amazing place – absolultely beautiful and run by the loveliest people"

Review by: LaurelG15 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"The Village House is an easy and traffic-free 40-45 minute drive from Kuching at the foot of Mount Santubong. It's absolutely beautiful - it's clear the owners have put tremendous thought and effort into creating a relaxing little oasis, and they've accomplished as much. The grounds are beautiful - very green and very relaxing with a luxury, boutique-y feel - when you see it, you can't believe how little they charge to stay here! The rooms are immaculate with gorgeous four-poster beds and well thought-out décor. The hotel is really, really gorgeous, but the highlight is the service - they went WAY above and beyond anything I've ever experienced. We forgot a backpack, so the owner lent us one - and not only that, but very kindly stocked it with bug spray and band-aids for our climb up Santubong! Then, when we got a little stranded and couldn't get a taxi back, the hotel chef came to pick us up - couldn't believe how helpful they were. We did two activities while we were here (climbed Santubong and a day at Bako) and they organized everything for us at VERY reasonable prices. We spent no time at all making our own arrangements, which made the weekend super enjoyable and relaxing. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. We've been to the Kuching area three times and this is by far and away the best place we've stayed - and in all my travels, the best customer service I've ever received from a hotel! "

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "6 course vegetarian menu for $26 — reserve way in advance"

Review by: Hope K | Source: Trip Advisor
What a treat for vegetarians to enjoy a set menu at a fine dining establishment. We reserved way in advance and even then could not get the date we wanted (my birthday). Plan ahead. Food and service were excellent.

THE SAMAR: "The Samar Villa & Spa Resort"

Review by: vwg0lf | Source: Trip Advisor
I highly recommend this delightful boutique hotel in Siem Reap. The staff were welcoming, efficient and professional. We received good advice with regard to visiting the historic sites from the General Manager Bertrand and arrangements were put in place to make it very easy for us to make the most of our time there yet we were still able to fully enjoy our stay. Situated near to Angkor Wat and the center of town yet peaceful and quiet within the bounds of the hotel. A clean and pleasant swimming pool. We were served a very generous breakfast. All the meals we ate at the Hotel were well presented and very tasty with dishes on the menu to suit all palates.

Slow Villas and Spa: "Paradise within paradise!"

Review by: Erica L | Source: Trip Advisor
"My 2-night stay at Slow Villas has been EXCEPTIONAL. I was looking to unwind and relax in Gili Air and I couldn't think of a better place to do just that. First of all, I love that it's eco-friendly! From bio-septic tanks to reusable water bottles, they are clear advocates of our environment. The Villas itself is very well-maintained. They provide just the right amount of of comfort and luxury. Every concept of the villas is centered around the guests comfort. The bed is huge and I love that it faces the pool-- perfect for lazy mornings. Our one-bedroom villa is HUGE, which even includes a garden. Although I'm not the type to sunbathe, it was nice to have it to ourselves. The pool is definitely amazing. It's not really a private villa without your private pool, is it. The service is great-- refillable water, fruits in your villa, breakfast at your own privacy, wifi, and a cable tv. They even add a little touch by providing a USB with movies just incase the cable is down. Simply amazing. Everything is top notch! Location wise, it's definitely on the isolated corner of the island, but it's perfect for couples like us who were were looking for pure tranquility. They truly lived up to their name. The instant I entered Slow, it was as if time froze and the rest of the world drifted away! Thank you Slow for a phenomenal experience!"

Les Maisons d’Itac: "Great place to stay"

Review by: MrsFanke | Source: Trip Advisor
We really enjoyed staying at this resort. We slept at Maison Ulysse and I really enjoyed the interior and . The resort has a lot of details and it very well looked after. It is hard to communicate with the staff as they hardly speak any English. But Bryan (the manager) is most of the time present to help and give you tipps. Due to the fact that this resort is very small, it has a familiar atmosphere which we enjoyed. We also felt very safe, never looked our hut
