Rachamankha: "Enchanting hotel"
We stayed for two nights and loved the peace and tranquility this special hotel provided. It is located in the Old City, and thus is slightly removed from the bustle of central Chiang Mai. Really the attraction here alongside the quiet is the extraordinary architecture. The property's attention to detail in design and decor is one of a kind. If these features are not what you are seeking this may not be the hotel for you but if so it is a special and unique stay.Mume: "Modern contemporary cuisine in Taipei"
Helmed by chefs whom trained at the world renowned Noma, comes a modern contemporary restaurant with Taiwanese elements. Ingredients are mostly locally sourced I believe. The sensibilities are quite close to the Nordic style of cuisine, which is subtle in flavour albeit quite well balanced.Rachamankha: "Beautiful peaceful retreat in the old city"
Very elegant and quiet with lovely art work and antiques throughout. Excellent service and extensive breakfast. Very nice pool. Small and personal. Puts you in a great mood. They pick you up and take you to the airport as part of the service.Manda De Laos: "A very special place"
"Having booked our table here some time ago we were hoping for something out of the ordinary to remember our stay in Luang Prabang by. The special table we were given certainly lived up to our highest expectations and the food was just sublime. We thought the meal we had at another restaurant the previous night was excellent but the food at Manda de Laos took us to a different level. Claiming to be an authentic taste of Laos we can only confirm that this is cooking to a very high standard comparable to any we have eaten whilst travelling around the pworld. The suggested menu, describing it as fixed would do it a disservice, was delicious with wonderful flavours throughout the meal. Staff were attentive, friendly and courteous and described each element with knowledge and passion. There are some who will and have commented on the cost here but knowing the cost of things whilst not appreciating their value is one of life’s biggest mistakes. Let us just say it was good value and leave it there. This is a must visit restaurant in Luang Prabang so go all out for the Manda de Laos suggested menu, and we hope, like us, you find it as enjoyable and memorable as we did."Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Worth seeking out"
Glad we found this! We stumbled onto Le Du on our way to another restaurant where we had reservations. It looked so interesting we made a reservation for the following night. Choose options for each of the four courses. Each is creative and well prepared. A modern take on more tradtional thai ingrediants with a french influence. Each dish is complex and the server carefully explains what is being served and how it was prepared. They offer wine flights, go for it. Each wine was perfect with the food that it accompanied. Hard to have made better wine selections. A generous pour of all four wines (four courses) unlike many wine flights. Easy walk from skytrain staion Chong Nosi. My ONLY critisism is that for the thrid course they only have one option that does not have a surcharge. It was fantastic, but would have liked at least one more no sur charge choice.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Peaceful with commanding views"
While the drive up to the lodge is challenging, the lodge itself is an oasis of tranquility. Excellent service by the staff (Jhalak was always present to answer questions), and nothing is challenging for them. There are killer views from almost everywhere, and you can spend your time just gazing !! You can see the Annapurna and Macchapucchare ranges from the lodge, with the sunrise views being particularly awesome (we didn't mind getting up early to see it, especially since there was a pot of tea waiting :-) ). We undertook a short trek, and had a very knowledgeable guide about the flora and fauna that we encountered, as well as the region as a whole. The rooms are clean, and the food, both continental and Nepali, are great ! Marcus is an exceptional host.Pindaya Farm House: "Excellent warm and cozy boutique hotel with amazing food"
"My wife and I stayed at Thahara in Pindaya on our last night in Myanmar. What a delightful end to such an enjoyable trip. Thahara is situated on a private farmhouse, providing such a warm and cozy feeling to guests. The hosts were very gracious and warm. The views of the surrounding fields - especially during sunset and sunrise - are breathtaking. The host family prepares delicious meals and use produce and herbs from their garden, taking ""farm to table"" to a whole new level. The food was absolutely spectacular, as not only is it so fresh, but the hosts are amazing cooks. The rooms were all modern and in great condition. We highly recommend staying here!"Inle Princess Resort: "My kind of paradise"
This resort is everything and more of what you could possibly expect for a great holiday. Contrary to most other lake resort on Inle, it is very quiet and feels very private. Rooms were amazing and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great Spa in a nice setting is a plus as well.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Another relaxing and indulgent week spent at an idyllic beach resort"
"We have stayed here before so know what to expect and are never disappointed. From our comfortable bungalow with its semi-open bathroom to the amazing food in both restaurants, our stay was the perfect antidote to the pace and stress of everyday life at home. No request is ever too much trouble for any member of staff from housekeeping to the spa, waitors to the yoga intstructor. A week flew past, we could have happily stayed another."villa song: "Elegant, relaxed old world villa"
"Sit on a table with a cooling fan watching the working boats ceaselessly chugging back and forth on the River Song, sipping a cocktail or enjoying a wonderful breakfast - Villa Song is a truly delightful, charming old villa, Modernised to perfection and providing a calm oasis close SE to the deranged mayhem of down town HCMC. The bedroom we stayed in was huge, with a fabulous bathroom, and a separate room with a huge bay window overlooking the river. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable. We loved the fee motorboat service into the city centre - atmospheric trip past the rapidly changing city skyline. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough!"
