Bassac Cruises: "Not too big, not too small, just right for couples – highly recommend"

Review by: E K | Source: Trip Advisor
My wife & I were running out of time and only did a 2 day/1 night but we were glad we did the Bassac Mekong Cruise (we were on Bassac II) . BestPriceTravel organised a lovely guide Annie and we were so very pleased with the boat quality, the crew service and Annie's informative talks (Annie spent college years in Melbourne - so a good english speaker). The boat looks older but inside it is very modern and although the rooms are small, these are more than enough for a 1 or 2 day cruise as ideally, you will be up on deck watching the interesting Mekong river activities, waiting for an excellent dinner. We stopped of in a village, did a floating markets and a land market and a couple of candy factories. I'd taken several pens and paper 'packs' in ziplock waterproof bags to distribute to young ones and Annie help pick a some candidates that were less fortunate and even convinced the guy driving the boat to pull alongside a floating market trader - the smiles from the children and their mums were worth all the effort of taking and giving. We had based ourselves in Saigon and although the drive to and from the Mekong was a few hours each way the journey was worth it. Great food, educational, and some really interesting sights.

Rachamankha: "A quiet retreat in busy Chiang Mai"

Review by: minchik2017 | Source: Trip Advisor
"What a beautiful hotel. This hotel has really beautiful gardens with lots of little retreat areas tucked away for you to relax with a book or a refreshing drink. Our room was on the ground floor and was spacious and comfortable. It had a very comfortable king sized bed and a roomy bathroom with luxury bath products. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They performed their duties efficiently and quietly. Breakfast and dinner is served in a beautifully designed courtyard with a cosy feel. Especially at night when the area is subtly lit with candles on each table. We chose to eat in the restaurant each night because of the excellent choice of delicious food. The pool area was also very relaxing and well maintained. We totally enjoyed our stay at the Rachamankha and plan to return in the near future. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing people, amazing place!"

Review by: Tom B | Source: Trip Advisor
My wife and I visited in January, and Noel Rodrigo's Leopard Safari was our first stop in a week-long trip. After a 6 hour drive from Colombo, we were greeting at Camp with fresh towels, cocktails in the open air lobby, and then dinner under the stars. The food - wow, the food! - was delicious, the conversation with other guests enjoyable, and the service perfect. We did two game drives the next day and saw countless animals, including a leopard. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable about the animals, their habitat, questions we had, and more. The jeeps were well-stocked with snacks and sodas, and the food back at Camp between game drives - breakfast and lunch - was delicious. The curries, roti, and fruits were delicious. Lastly, we stayed in the standard tent the first night which was comfortable. I decided to upgrade to the luxury tent the second night to surprise my wife, and it is spectacular. Beautiful room, nicely decorated, and an A+. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Noel Rodrigo's Safari Camp to others looking to see Yala National Park and the infamous leopards.

Mume: "A great evening, great tastes & ambience"

Review by: HKFrequentFlyer | Source: Trip Advisor
This is arguably one of Asia's finest restaurants … the a la carte menu is a fusion, at times I felt like at home in Sydney, at times it went to Scandinavia … The ambience is minimalist, dress code casual (loved that aspect), staff friendly and informative; the food we ordered (and most of it shared) was excellent, top marks to the wagyu tartare and ribeye. I read some negative reviews below … I am guessing people were expecting a Chinese banquet for the price. This is quite a different experience, its all about tasting the food, the fresh ingredients and the innovative. We certainly did not leave the restaurant hungry, quite the opposite. If you are a couple like us, choose different starters and mains and try as many as possible. My only objection is the wine list … for a restaurant of this calibre, they should entertain more wines … especially from NZ, Australia (they would go well with the food).

Inle Princess Resort: "Lakefront luxury"

Review by: A TripAdvisor Member | Source: Trip Advisor
From arrival to departure, everything at Inle Princess resort was an absolute delight. The enormous lakefront room is filled handcrafted decorations and a beautiful ceiling that stretches 10 metres above you. The outdoor shower is a fantastic addition. The resort grounds are again filled with handmade pots, signs and other decorative elements - all crafted on-site. The pool is wonderful, and quiet, the free breakfast consists of warm freshly made pastries and delicious eggs to order, and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. To have received a hand-wrapped and hand-written gift from the staff at the end of the stay was the icing on the cake. A wonderful experience. One minor criticism was that we found the taxi to the airport to be a little expensive so we sourced our own but a very minor blot on an otherwise fantastic stay.

Supanniga Eating Room: "Best Thai food in Thailand!"

Review by: Ryan M | Source: Trip Advisor
I realize my title is a bold claim. This is the food capital of the world, after all. (OK maybe NYC). But the passion for quality here is simply remarkable. The cabbage with fish sauce dish, for example, is so simple and yet mind-blowingly delicious. I believe this chef has another restaurant in BKK and one in NYC - both of which also get unbelievable reviews.

Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "Wonderful stay"

Review by: AnneandMark | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a wonderful hotel to stay at - staff are superb and friendly. Food is excellent - very tasty (the best food we had in Laos) and just the right sized portions. Room is very good and the only criticism we had is that there was no shower screen but it really didn't need one. Shame about the pool being out of action whilst we were there but Raphael compensated us well for that problem.
