Rachamankha: "Breakfast, service, and spacious rooms"
"I had horrible allergies here, but I still think that this hotel deserves a 5 star rating. I loved the 3 course breakfast (probably too much food but prepared us for some long days!) Pool is huge and relaxing although we never saw any other guests in the water, and it closes early. A perk (for me) is that this hotel is designed for adults, and there's beautiful art everywhere. Housekeeping was always available, and the location is extremely close/walkable to shops, markets and Wats while maintaining a secluded feeling."Sukoon Houseboat: "Floating Fantasy!"
This was my first houseboat experience and it was wonderful! After driving the hideous road from Kargil (which was in itself ugly and dirty) arriving at Sukoon was such a welcome paradise. Clean lines, white sheets, excellent food and a great shower! Simply spectacular! The staff were incredibly friendly, especially Babu and the view was beautiful!Villa Mathis: "second séjour, toujours le paradis"
Pretty well decorated room, a beautiful card to the restaurant, attentive staff, good places to stroll or go on trips, a little away has Seminiak which is rather more since the place is very Zen with shuttle to downtown. Also thank you to the new manager and his wife for their hospitality and kindness. we will returnYandabo Home: "Wonderful hotel that tastes like home"
Coming from the busy and noisy Yangon, spending two days in Yandabo Home makes you feel like in heaven. Beautiful rooms with a crazy chic style; very few places like this in Myanmar. One of the best trained staff in the country. Totally worth going!!!4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Slice of Paradise"
"How I wished we had another night! This is a remarkable experience in the middle of the jungle. Don't be put off by the thought of a tent, this is luxury rather than camping. You can swim from your deck and borrow kayaks and fishing rods, or simply relax in the sunshine. We went on the sunset trip which was beautiful. The fireflies were an unexpected bonus. We also took the trip to Tatai Waterfall. That was great fun and we kayaked halfway back which was so peaceful. They provide lunch and towels. Just take sunscreen and a swimming costume or you could jump in like the locals fully clothed! On our second evening we drank cocktails on the main deck and watched the sun go down before dinner. The food is good- delicious homemade pineapple jam at breakfast. We also enjoyed the waffles which were more like American pancakes with fruit and ice cream. The portion was huge so one to share was plenty. Thank you to the staff for looking after us so well. This is really a unique experience you don't want to miss. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Villa Song Saigon: "Elegant hotel on the Saigon River"
"We stayed a couple of nights at this hotel and it is really special. Right on the Saigon River and in District 2 of Ho Chin Minh. The service was really good and the location is perfect. You can catch the hotel boat shuttle directly to the main district 1 if required. The area around the hotel is quiet and we found some really nice restaurants. This hotel is number one on trip advisor for a reason. "The Village House: "Great romantic hideaway"
"We stumbled across this hotel by chance after being deeply disappointed and cancelling our reservation with Damai Beach Resort. As soon as we walked through the door I knew this was the place. The host came out to greet us and we enjoyed a refreshing welcome drink. It's a fantastic place for couples. Very relaxing, chilled with great food. I especially enjoyed the hammocks with a good book. We took advantage of the free cinema and games room every night which was a nice touch!"Manda De Laos: "Amazing"
It blew my mind! On top of a picturesque setting, food was beyond compare. I would pick it over and over again.Chakrabongse Villas: "Off the Scale !"
We arrived in Bangkok with a few hours to discover the city and enjoy the hotel. Wow - there are not enough words except to say Thank you Paul Walker at Secret - Retreats - what a place and what an amazing hotel. This is not a hotel its an experience and without doubt the best place to stay in Bangkok ! A royal palace with a difference, ooozing style, charm and service you cannot ask for anything better ! Thank you xxxSupanniga Eating Room: "Best Thai food in Thailand!"
I realize my title is a bold claim. This is the food capital of the world, after all. (OK maybe NYC). But the passion for quality here is simply remarkable. The cabbage with fish sauce dish, for example, is so simple and yet mind-blowingly delicious. I believe this chef has another restaurant in BKK and one in NYC - both of which also get unbelievable reviews.
