Neeleshwar Hermitage: "One of India’s best boutique beach resorts"
"Just 18 bungalows/rooms, each beautifully and comfortably furnished with their own semi-outdoor bathrooms. Efficient air conditioning. Spa with a range of treatments and massages. An endless white sand beach. Good sized pool although more sunloungers might be a good idea. Yoga centre. Two restaurants to choose from: one on the beach which is especially fabulous at breakfast. Fresh seafood and lots of local dishes too. And everything is set in beautiful gardens. A truly relaxing place to stay. Stayed February 2017, traveled with friends"Heritage Suites Hotel: "7 nights with an attentive staff in a lovely property"
The hotel is a bit out of the way but a short tuk tuk ride you are in town. We stayed in the saffron suite. Lovely room, very large, great air conditioning. Staff is very kind and attentive. If you ask for anything they respond quickly. I was ill for a couple of days during my trip and they kept checking on me, asking my wife if I was getting better, bringing extra water to the room. My only complaint was the mattress was not very comfortable. Everything else was perfect.Jing’s Residence: "An Asian Oasis of Calm"
Quietly unassuming plain wooden doors lead into this beautifully crafted small hotel and restaurant. We were offered tea and honey roasted dates as we sat down to register and then shown to an exquisite bedroom with with a warm wooden floor, huge bed on a wooden platform and a perfect bathroom. What a relief to find a room with no television but with lovely pictures, curtains and furniture. Tea comes in three loose leaf varieties and a bowl of tangerines was a nice touch. We dined in the beautiful restaurant on honey and ginger roasted chicken, stir fried beef and vegetables with rice and two glasses of really excellent Chinese wine. An unusual and wonderful small hotel set within the busking car free streets of this fascinating walled city.David’s Kitchen: "Memorable experience"
The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere, the music was vocal jazz and relaxing. The restaurant created a lovely mood, suitable for couples or even families. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. The food was exceptionally delicious. The beef was tender. The dessert was also special. The service was great. No dissapointment for sure.Rachamankha: "Delightful boutique hotel"
"Delightful boutique hotel set in an old building with lots of character. We had a room set around a pretty courtyard area. It was a bit small by 5* Thai standards but nicely decorated and a very comfortable bed. The restaurant is set in a lovely courtyard where you have both breakfast & dinner. It has a reasonable breakfast choice with buffet & a la carte options - I had the Egg Benedict and an omelette on separate occasions which were both really tasty. We also ate twice in the evening (see separate entry). Lovely quiet swimming pool with the sun from 09.00. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Location might be an issue for some people as it is quite far from the market and busier part of town but I would certainly go back to enjoy the tranquility of the place. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"maisons war kor: "“Fabulous stay”"
"Although a little further away from Battambang (around 2km) than other hotels, the beautiful surroundings, well-appointed rooms and excellent food are well worth it. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. We were there to celebrate a 60th birthday and they arranged dessert with candles and sang happy birthday! We had a great tour of all the sights around Battambang with Mr Dan the tuk tuk driver, arranged by the hotel. Also, we had a cookery class in the restaurant just for two of us which was a great experience. Thank you for a brilliant stay."Poring Hot Spring Nature Reserve: "A variety of activities, available in one place"
We visited on a weekday - a previous review says the tubs are empty. Yes, they were, but that is so as not to waste water. The taps (one hot spring water tap, one cold water) are there for you to fill at your leisure. We clambered up to the Canopy Walk - it's a bit of a hike, but well worth the effort! Also visited the serene and informative butterfly garden and information centre. My husband and I sat in the pool at the base of Kipungit Waterfall, while our daughters trekked off to see the bat cave. I was surprised by 'sucker' fish, nibbling at my toes - you know, the ones you pay for in the 'fish massage' places? And I got mine for free! There are also sites for a rafflesia garden (world' largest flower), and an orchid site. I think this place is underrated, and offers so much for someone who has a morning / day to spareSatri House: "Indeed a secret retreat"
"Beautiful hotel with a charming service. The room was very nicely decorated. Even if not in the city center, it is easy to go by bicycle and see all major attractions of the city. A little minus for the air conditioning unit located just above the bed."Villa Song Saigon: "Awesome!"
"We arrived at villa song to a warm welcome, we booked a sanctuary suite which was very spacious and high ceilings with a lovely standard! The hotel is French colonial architecture which is gorgeous, we was also welcomed at breakfast by the manager Yega who gave us some interesting info of places to see and do in Saigon which we did and much appreciated, thank you Yega. Overall the place is gorgeous and in a great location on the river Siagon and you must take the complementary speedboat to the city!!! :)"MesaStila: "Exquisite Gem"
This is the perfect place to relax and unwind from the busy city life. Surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and the forests and ricefields and plantation. The public areas are very well appointed, having taken pains to fill the clubhouse and the bar/lounge with vintage, period pieces. The staff is always helpful and polite. Excellent service by everyone. We even had a private tour of the coffee plantation where we were introduced to the flora and fauna of the place, the organic garden, the coffee area and once more given traditional snacks and more coffee and jamu. One can spend an entire day just lounging by the infinity pool by the jungle. Or playing billiards in the lounge. Or walking around the extensive estate. The spa/hamman facilities and menu are also top-notch. I can't say enough good things about the place. It is a very, very gracious place full of hospitality, warmth and the beauty of nature.
