Le Calao: "One of the better restaurants in town"

Review by: Tor O | Source: Trip Advisor
Visited twice, good food, excellent service, smiling and smart staff. Have tables on several floors and terraces, indoor and outdoor. Situated in an old newly renovated house, well done. Highly recommend.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Surpasses all expectations"

Review by: leeds29 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at the Glenburn after a week travelling around Sikkim and it was the perfect end to the trip. We received a warm welcome on arrival from Faye and Will the management team and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. We were offered refreshments throughout the day (fantastic teas) and found everyone very friendly. The rooms are lovely, each bedroom is different and in a colonial style and the food was excellent with a different theme each evening which we loved. Our stay was relaxing - we enjoyed the walk down to the river where we had lunch, exploring the tea plantation and reading on the veranda admiring the views. Just what we were looking for in a tea plantation. Thanks to Faye and Will and their team for making our visit so memorable It was a few days of luxury that I would highly recommend."

Villa Song Saigon: "A wonderful boutique hotel"

Review by: millywils0n | Source: Trip Advisor
"Villa Song was the first stop on our recent SE Asian odyssey and it did not disappoint! We arrived after the best part of a day's travelling so were quite tired and ready to relax and chill. The reception staff were great and got us booked in very quickly (lovely watermelon juice as well) and off we went to our room. Beautiful view over the terrace, restaurant and Saigon River, the balcony was fairly small but there was room for 2 chairs and a table so that's really all that's needed. There was plenty of storage, a very nice bathroom including many extra accessories such as a sewing kit, cotton buds, wipes etc and the queen sized beds were extremely comfortable. We repaired to the beautiful poolside where we were able to recharge our batteries and partake of the gorgeous cocktails (Happy hour was 5 - 7 pm with 2 for 1 on cocktails and various other drinks). The breakfasts were awesome! Fruit platter to start and the menu had 15+ items on it from English breakfasts to Continental to Pancakes to Vietnamese specialities - you could have as many dishes as you wanted, plus you didn't actually have to have it at breakfast time (although we did). Being in district 2, Villa Song is a little way off the beaten track, however there was a complimentary river shuttle from the hotel to downtown which ran several times a day and which we utilised on our free day so that we could spend the entire day downtown - I recommend taking the shuttle, much more interesting than a taxi. Lastly I must give a huge shout out to the staff at Villa Song - nothing too much trouble, always smiling, checking we had enough coffee/tea/beer/cocktails/juice...I think with the hotel only having 20 or so rooms it has a real family feel to it. I would highly recommend Villa Song to anyone Stayed February 2017, traveled with friends"

Maison Polanka: "Refined, authentic, peaceful boutique hotel"

Review by: mlechaczynski | Source: Trip Advisor
"Amazing stay at Maison Polanka. You step into a luxurious garden and a heaven of tranquility here. Everything is done to make you feel welcome; from the unpretentious French owners and their insights on the local life to the kind and attentive staff. The room (actually a fully detached house with a private outdoor living room) is decorated with incredible style. The food is worthy of any great restaurant in town. They helped us book experienced guides to visit the temples and had a Tuk tuk on stand-by for all our trips. A must stay place to visit the area! Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"

Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Lovely service, imaginative food, and great attention to detail"

Review by: sr201753j9 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I read an article about Le Du and was intrigued by its promise of elevating Thai style food. I have been in Thailand for several weeks and have enjoyed the food but not been blown away by anything that I have not tried before until tonight. We elected the 6 course tasting menu. This is really a bit more than expected because there is an amuse bouche and a fruit plate that is not listed. Server was Erica who was warm, attentive and knowledgeable. The dishes range from sea bass, river prawn, aged beef, pork jowls and a sustainable fish. Each was presented with a lovely Thai inspired sauce and accompaniment. While all the dishes were terrific in their own way, our favorites were the pork jowls an the sea bass. The lovely staff recognized my husband's celebration of his birthday with an extra dessert. So what would I say could be improved: the beef dish was the weakest in that while flavorful, it was a bit chewy. I did not observe the concerns voiced by other reviewers as a high noise level, or feeling of being rushed. We were dressed in a neat manner and felt welcome. We thought the bill was reasonable for this type of meal. Yes, there is a service charge but the charge is 10% which in our opinion is low for the amount of service and 50% of the expected tip in the US. I did find the reservation system challenging. I made a reservation for one evening, and then realized we would be open earlier in the week and tried to change the reservation. I sent an email, and initially, did not get a response. The hotel clerk called for me and changed the reservation, But I received no confirmation of change. This is partly my fault because the hotel gave the name on my passport which is slightly different ( nickname versus formal first name) that they did not recognize as the same person. We called again, confirmed and a few hours later I received a change of reservation with right day, wrong time. 2 more calls and 3 emails later, it was cleared and confirmed. So lesson learned; choose the time you want on the first try. Also, the location is a little tricky. It is in a a Soi or a little alley. So leave a little time to find it."

Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Worth seeking out"

Review by: slmaleski | Source: Trip Advisor
Glad we found this! We stumbled onto Le Du on our way to another restaurant where we had reservations. It looked so interesting we made a reservation for the following night. Choose options for each of the four courses. Each is creative and well prepared. A modern take on more tradtional thai ingrediants with a french influence. Each dish is complex and the server carefully explains what is being served and how it was prepared. They offer wine flights, go for it. Each wine was perfect with the food that it accompanied. Hard to have made better wine selections. A generous pour of all four wines (four courses) unlike many wine flights. Easy walk from skytrain staion Chong Nosi. My ONLY critisism is that for the thrid course they only have one option that does not have a surcharge. It was fantastic, but would have liked at least one more no sur charge choice.

Villa Song Saigon: "An Oasis on the Saigon Riverbank"

Review by: crystalyschang | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stay at Villa Song Saigon only for one night but we got a late check-out since our flight depart late in the evening. The shuttle boat is fabulous. You could book the schedule and enjoy a 20-min ride to the city center which avoid the bustling traffic on the road and feel like a celebrity. The complimentary breakfast is delicious and we have a variety of local flavor and western style to choose from. You could also enjoy the pool, whether swim or do nothing. Villa Song Saigon really is a romantic boutique hotel embodying the beauty of Saigon. "

Samuay & Sons: "Number 1"

Review by: Jonky1 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Fabulous! Chef/ owner trained in San Fransico for 2 years, and has worked at an array of influential restaurants and hotels. Talented and gifted, his dishes are extraordinarily delicious, and put together with mindful thought and experience. Udon Thani is very fortunate to have such a master of food and will undoubtably be launched into celebrity status soon. Restaurant is tastefully decorated, I only wish the seats were padded, and menu had pictures. Staff very professional all wearing matching uniforms. It is only a matter of time, this restaurant will be rated number one (1) in Udon Thani!"

Reverie Siam: "Loving it"

Review by: ahfook | Source: Trip Advisor
"The hotel has a very beautiful ground. Everything were just amazing. Nice restaurant, unique room with jacuzzi, great pools, friendly staffs. Everything was cater to my request. I really feel I was well taken care off. I dare to say that this is probably the best hotel in pai. It's close to town yet far enough to enjoy some quiet moment. The villa 9 I had was located along the pai river. The view is amazing. The rate is high, but surely worth every penny for special occasion. Yes, at night there might be some noises and music from drinking places beyond the bank. But they stop after 10pm. It's not a problem if you close the door. But then you will not enjoy the crisp fresh air during the winter. Some mosquitoes flying in from outside, but strangely, they seem doesn't bite. I am blood type O, and I am doing fine! Haha... not sure if it's because it winter month. For rural area like pai, this is definitely a gem! Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"

Supanniga Eating Room: "Review of Supanniga on Sathorn 10 (Near W Hotel)"

Review by: EdwardLeung | Source: Trip Advisor
This restaurant has a few branches and we visited the Sathorn 10 branch. Not difficult to find as it is near the Chong Nongsi BTS station and W Hotel can be a landmark. Food was excellent with a little western fusion in the mix. They serve interesting cocktails as well. Service was attentive and good. Its not your typical thai restaurant but the ambience was good and pleasant.
