Chakrabongse Villas: "Quiet oasis, great location"

Review by: rtwnomads | Source: tripadvisor.com
The Oriental Villa was perfect for our family of 4 (kids 10 and 8). Great location to explore the highlights of Bangkok. Dinner on the river was outstanding, and Ms. Atom reserved us a table at Sala Rattanakosin (within walking distance, also on the river) when their chef was off and it was equally memorable.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Great Service!"

Review by: jay_uk1 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"This is an awesome place to go. Can't fault it at all. Definitely do the waterfall excursion as well for some more natural beauty. But besides all of that, I just wanted to say what amazing service the staff delivered. The resort manager is a man called Adonis, and he really did go above and beyond. I ended up dropping some red wine on my beige trousers during dinner and I was leaving the next day. I didn't have the time or the right washing materials to get the stain out. Adonis said he was doing his personal washing that evening and very kindly offered to wash my trousers for me too. He used some stain remover, some other washing stuff, gave it a good hand scrub, and even managed to get them completely dry for me to take back the next morning (stain free). This was not part of any laundry service and he personally did this as a favour...thank you Adonis! Really great service all round. An awesome experience and would highly recommend staying here."

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Fine dining at very good value for money"

Review by: Joan S | Source: Trip Advisor
So pleased I reserved this restaurant 90 days before we got there! It is so much in demand and I am not surprised. We chose the 6-course dinner accompanied by their recommended wine and with each course you look forward to the next one. Art on a plate and simply delicious. Just $31 for the 6-courses! Unheard of!!! Chef came round each table for our comments which we really did appreciate especially when the restaurant is so busy. The hostess was also very helpful and pleasant.

Rachamankha: "Really beautiful hotel in a nice location"

Review by: FengCao | Source: Trip Advisor
First of all, this hotel really takes me back in time with a Chinese courtyard style layout which oozes culture and character. Sitting in the chairs in the common area, I felt like I was in a different era enjoying a slow afternoon tea. Hidden in a quiet secluded corner of the Chiang Mai old town, it was the perfect place to be after the craziness of Bangkok. The location of hotel is very convenient to all the temples and the night markets. The hotel restaurant offered very tasty breakfast and dinner.

MesaStila: "Hidden treasure – a lovely escape"

Review by: Jintymikmax | Source: Trip Advisor
"Our party of 19 stayed at this amazing resort on the last leg of our trip. The MesaStila is housed on a vast area that was once a coffee plantation. Imagine lush greenery, manicured lawns and beautifully landscaped plants. These grounds are peppered with bungalows of varying sizes with some having connecting doors. This proved useful for all the kids in the party to visit each others' rooms. We also had the privilege of staying at the Bellavista (also referred to as the Presidential Suite). This palatial residence has a living room large enough to house all 19 of us for dinner without feeling cramped. The amazing staff obliged to our request to have room service served there because of the kids were too tired to head to the restaurant for dinner. The living area also proved useful for group discussion sessions and a good game of hide and seek. The bedrooms were equally mind blowing with the ornate four poster beds and sunken baths. A beautiful blend of antiques and modern requirements - copper sinks and faucets, flat screen TV, wooden bar locks, electric kettle and a bar fridge. The resort kindly obliged to our request for extra beds as some of us had 3 in a group. The rooms were large enough to accommodate the bed without it feeling like space was compromised, The other villas has a variety of bedding combinations including one with a loft bed! Within the Resort, the Hammam Spa was a wonderful escape as I opted for the 90min Intensive Massage Therapy. My therapist managed to work through my knots from the previous day's hike and left me feeling so refreshed, I was tempted to add another 90 minutes! Breakfast is served daily at Java Green. There is a decent selection of local and international food (try to chicken porridge!) but the one thing you must not miss is the daily dose of Jamu (Indonesian Traditional Herbal Drink) served by the loveliest little lady at the entrance of the restaurant. There are several concoctions to choose from - be warned, some taste better than others - but they're all good for the system. And if the lady's appearance is anything to go by, I'd be happy to drink the stuff daily! If you're wondering what to do at the resort, here's a list of stuff we tried: Cycling through the Padi fields and taking a soak at the local ""hot spring"" at the end of the ride The Coffee Plantation tour - very educational with more than just coffee to see Take a swim in the lovely pool Relax at the SPA Play pool at the bar Read a nice book at the clubhouse Ask about the Jeep tour to Merapi (Indonesia's most active volcano) Visit the amazing Borobudur Plenty to see and do! There's also stuffwe didn't have time to try, like batik painting, learning to play the Gamelan, morning Yoga sessions, pony rides, etc. Check with the Reception for the daily activity schedules. While the 8 parents on the trip were quite awestruck by the place, I also have to add that we had 11 boys with us - all aged 12 and some were slightly spooked by the ornate architecture and furnishings when we arrived on the first night. The city boys having just left a rather modern upmarket hotel did take a while to get used to the antiquated outlook of the place. That said, they were very happy to run around once the sun came up and once familiarity set in, they were a bit sad to leave after 3 nights there. I would recommend the establishment for couples, anyone in need of peace and quiet, people who appreciate old architecture or just someone in need of a slightly different holiday."

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Spa/restaurant/beach"

This place is one of a kind. The location is beautiful. The seafood is excellent with authentic Kerala food. Our room is awesome and very rustic. The beach was beautiful. We were surrounded by wild life and everything was wonderful.

tugu malang: "Best hidden gem in Indonesia"

Review by: Sarah W | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We're currently living in Jakarta, and sometimes you need a little getaway from the Big Durian. Malang is it - and this is the hotel to stay in. I loved everything about this place. The hotel staff are really friendly - arranging early check in and late check out with no problems and playing with my baby. The rooms are gorgeous, really comfortable beds, huge beautiful bathroom with really nice products, and wood floors (great for a crawling baby). The grounds are like a museum with so many places to walk and explore. The hotel is located in a very walkable location and the hotel staff are helpful with recommendations. The restaurant has the best Indonesian food I've had in Indonesia. They'll modify for vegetarians - try the Nasi Campur. The breakfast that's included is also incredible - you can order off the menu and take from the buffet - all included! The coffee is amazing - we took home 2 bags of beans, very reasonably priced. The afternoon tea that's included offers a wonderful selection of Indonesian snacks to try and great tea and coffee. They include a welcome massage of 15 minutes, and we bought a full massage, which was really high quality and totally worth it - and reasonably priced. "

David’s Kitchen: "Must try in Chiang Mai"

Review by: Jennifer J | Source: Trip Advisor
Davids Kitchen is located 15 mins drive from the old town, but it definitely worth a visit if you are in Chiang Mai and for special occasion. You would be amazed by the garden when you first arrive. The food is fantastic and staffs would give you great recommendation if you are not sure what to order. David was also in the restaurant and making sure every guest is enjoying the dinner. We also got a little sweet surprise at the end of the dinner. Would definitely come again.

Inle Princess Resort: "Well-appointed hotel with a sensitivity to its environment"

Review by: menagLondon | Source: Trip Advisor
This hotel manages to provide a high standard of accommodation and service in a simple, rural part of an emerging nation. Our room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable with a gorgeous lake view deck. The hotel's isolated location meant we, unusually, used the restaurant on each of our three night stay and really enjoyed the food. The service in all respects was marvellous. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The lack of tv and patchy wifi are simply not an issue - the surroundings and potential to tour the lake are what we visited for. It's a beautiful area where tourism is helping a fragile local economy. This hotel tries hard to boost that in a sensitive way.
