Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Luxury Retreat For Nature Lovers Looking For A Break From City"
If your looking for a place outside Chiang Mai with excellent hospitality, stunning views, luxury villa and a place to really kick back and unwind then Michael's place is the one. Easily my favourite place to stay in the Chiang Mai area.Locavore: "Long, Drawn-Out Food Mystery Tour"
"I have had two lunches here and although I liked almost all of the dishes, there are a few that were borderline disgusting. The whole showmanship aspect, lengthy affair of eating each morsel as its own chapter of your life, starts to feel more like some sort of culinary striptease rather than a joyous gifting. I know they want to give each taste its due, but the timing never felt quite right, and sometimes I would anticipate when the next dish would arrive, eating ridiculously slowly, only to be surprised by the sudden arrival of the next amazing thing. This place aims to create a tour de force dining experience, with discs of some mashed-together vegetable, or a deep fried leaf of something you never thought of eating. Exquisite sauces, pleasing texture combinations, and clever reinventions of some silly thing like a mushroom... these are what are in store for you at Locavore. But every once in a while, you get some taste of something straight out of American Psycho, the novel where young investment bankers vie for tables at NYC's latest culinary palaces, with such bizarre dishes as ""Shad Roe Omelet"" are on the menu. By the way, I want to thank Locavore for never serving me anything with sea foam on it. There's a gimmick you will see at Mosaic, but, thankfully, never encountered that fad at Locavore. The chef is into invention, rather than riding trends set by others. That said, there were a couple of memorable dishes (for the wrong reasons) which were just too weird to finish. I mean, I could eat around this one that had some sort of oatmeal-type grain... it wasn't polenta or oats, either. It was just too cold and mushy, though, and I went for the sauce and crispy bits next to the gruel. When I asked for a custom cocktail, describing to the waiter that I liked bitters and dry flavors, he came back from the bartender with a suggestion for something described as using sugar. I had to kind of back-and-forth it for several minutes with the waiter and bartender before he arrived at something without sugar or fruit, and it was tasty and original, but I was surprised by the amount of discussion we had to have. I do appreciate the precision concern for my tastes in alcohol and seasoning, but be forewarned that if you ask the bartender to invent something for you, it may mean starting a conference. I still give these guys a high score because there is nothing else like it in Bali, and the cooks take such pride in their work. But be aware that not every exquisite little dish will be a firecracker of pleasure. Hard surfaces throughout the restaurant make for awful acoustics. Sound bounces everywhere and I prefer softer atmospheres for fine dining."Pindaya Farm House: "Fantastic"
It was our last day in Myanmar just before flying to Yangoon and back home. It was exactly the place we were looking for after visiting and staying at different hotels around Myanmar. The location and the big hut are magical, look and feel as if inside a legend. The warm hospitality and the great food made us feel at home. unfortunately we stayed there 1 night only. Could stay there for a week.Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "really a good one"
it was a really good night out, the food was fantastic and really worth to have this kind of flavour experienceSEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "The most memorable dinner in Yangon"
We were privileged to be invited to an exclisive pre-opening private dinner by Swiss Chef couple Felix Eppisser & Lucia Eppisser to their new venture , Seeds Restaurant in the prime residential area with beautiful lakeside location in Yangon City. Food was heavenly with personally created degustation menu from amuse bouche of Scallops , pumpkin soup with Lobster & truffle , seabass on avocado puree, Australian tenderloin steak with mushroom cream followed by dessert of mixed berry parfait at Chef's table seeing dishes prepared & excuted right in front. All dishes were perfectly cooked & delicious ! The most memorable meal we ever had !!!Heritage Suites: "Lovely stay at heritage suites hotel"
"We stayed for 2 nights while visiting the temples. First of all - it was nice to be picked up from the airport. The driver was great and explained things about Cambodia in general and also the town. The hotel is beautiful with a vintage feel, with a nice swimming pool to think about while sweating in the temples all day. Breakfast is delicious- a la carte but you can chose more than one thing so its more than enough. The free 15 min spa treatment is a great touch. I think the best thing though is the heritage adventures package which allowed us to have a different experience. We were really pleased we had chosen it, would definetly recommend."The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Perfect hotel, perfect location, perfect restaurant!"
We stayed two nights at the Cabochon and I could have happily holed up there for weeks. The staff were so brilliant, our room was gorgeous, the location just of Sukhumvit was perfect for exploring Bangkok but far enough away from the main road to provide some peace and quiet while we were back at base. The rooftop pool was amazing and exactly what we needed after the heat of the city. But the real praise has to go to the kitchen - this was easily the best food we ate in Thailand. We loved the relaxed atmosphere of the Cabochon. Despite it's luxurious and ornate colonial vintage style, it didn't feel stuffy or 'too nice to touch.' Everyone was super lovely and very chilled out and there was nothing more blissful than having a happy hour cocktail on the front porch after spending the day exploring the city via the nearby Sky Train. Thank you for a wonderful stay to everyone at The Cabochon. Frankly, I can't wait to get back there.Slow Villas and Spa: "3 nights – 25-27 July 2017"
I stayed with my husband and 2 teenage children in a two bedroom villa with private pool. I can only describe Slow as, calm, instantly relaxing, bare foot luxury! Stunning bedrooms with lovely outside bathrooms. So fabulous to be in the shower looking at the incredible stars (no light pollution at all!). Sadly we only had a short stay here as our sole purpose for being on Gili Air was to complete our PADI Open Water certification. How wrong we were not to stay longer. Gili Air is quite magical. No cars or scooters. Just horse and cart or bicycles. Slow Villas is situated in the middle of the island 5 mins from the beach. Definitely the best location away from the bars dotted around the coastal path. We had early morning starts and Slow made sure we had lovely homemade muesli/fruit and yoghurt in our fridge the night before so we could have early breakfast. We borrowed bikes every day to get around. Great fun!! Our stay was so short that we didn't have time to try the spa which I'm sure would be equally wonderful. Thank you Martin and the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back.Tugu Malang: "Two nights in Malang to climb Mt Semeru"
"I'd previously stayed here in 2015 and was aware of their leisure activities programme as the objective for this visit was to climb Mt Semeru (3,676m), the highest point on the Indonesian island of Java. My colleague and I were warmly welcomed by staff and allocated an upgraded room which was much appreciated. Whilst the heritage hotel is very well laid out with lots of antiques and memorabilia, this would count for nothing if the staff weren't up to looking after guests to a very high standard. I've stayed in many great hotels around the world but the Tugu Malang is included in my top 5 hotels in the world. The trekking arrrangements were satisfactory but for various reasons we didn't reach the summit but if we try again we'll allow for an extra day for this. The catering here is exceptional with variety and quality spoiling guests for choice. I can highly recommend this hotel!"Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "The boutique resort in Samui"
"The small and best resort in Samui. First of all, they offered me free upgrade to pool villa beach front which was the best view. Second, staff was very helpfully and warmly, one of them support me to called with a agent tour who miss pick up me. Finally, I am feel like stayed at home when they treat me as well as possible Love this resort, peaceful place, nice beach and services was good Stayed January 2017, traveled solo"
