Mie Cafe: "Amazing"
This hidden gem is amazing. Ribs you can cut with a fork and the coconut ginger ice cream are must haves.Inle Princess Resort: "Prime Position"
A beautiful place in an idyllic setting. Spacious chalet with outside deck whetjr one has Lake View or Pond View (slightly less expensive. Excellent breakfast and very good dinner. Binoculars and bird book a very nice touch. No tv anywhere. Wi-fi not available in guest rooms, only in reeption and dining area (although we had good wiifi in our chalet number 102. Approach is by motor boat from town about 30 minutes away althogh last 500 yards is by leg rower so there is little noise disturbance. Consider your return to Heho airport by car all the way (omitting the 30-minute boat ride and loading and unloading luggage) which save about half an hour on the journey. The final touch -- it was my wife's birthday on the dy we left and sh had a sing and a cake from the staff at 0630 in th morning and a beautiful silk skirt as a present from the owner himself who seems sincere about greening Burma and providing social benefits to his employees and the local community.Tugu Malang: "Wonderful Heritage Hotel"
"This is a 5 star hotel and more on the expensive side. We stayed here two nights and were very content. The reason we decided to stay here was because they have a room that the first president of Indonesia, Sukarno, used to stay in. You can see his room on request. They also have a lot of historical indonesian objects on display like a full gamelan set which you also get to play, an original tea room with complimtary teatime and snacks, breakfast was included and you have the choice between continental breakfast and indonesian breakfast (both are excellent). Our room was pristine with crisp linen sheets and has ac. The shower and toilet is outside and feels very exotic with all the plants. On your arrival you get a complinentary drink and fruit. The staff is very friendly and help you with anything you need. What we especially liked about the hotel was that all the packaging wasn't plastic. They used natural material. We would definetely stay here again if we could."Reverie Siam Pai: "Lunch at Riverie Siam"
My friend has recommended me to this place for overnight stay but unfortuniately all rooms were occupied. I decided to stop over for lunch which I had nice Italian dinning, good taste, great presentation by the waitress and I guess the owner. Totallo love it and looking forward to coming back soon!Mie Cafe: "Our last night in Siem Reep"
My partner and I wanted to go out for a nice meal as it was the end of our holiday. We were getting tired of 'Pub Street' and wanted something special. We found out about this place on TripAdvisor and thought we would give it a try. We were very fortunate being a walk in as it's a rather small restaurant and it was quite busy. The food was absolutely wonderful. It was contemporary Khmer cuisine at its best. This was complimented by wonderful service from very friendly staff. A wonderful evening out.Rachamankha: "Location, location, location"
Best place to stay in Chiangmai as its central to everywhere. The hotel is a 5-star oasis to escape from the city yet it is located in the city. The staff are friendly and professional making our stay extremely seamless. The room is exquisite with old Thai charm yet furnished with modern day necessities. We definitely would come back here next time!Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "Wonderful stay!"
It's as though we walked on the the set of "Out of Africa" with all the period pieces. Great location, staff, room was neat, clean and spacious. It's off the beaten track but then again most of the great places are.Supanniga Eating Room: "Amazing food"
"The food was fantastic. My sister who's lived here for over 20 years couldn't agree more with the authenticity of the food and ingredients, some even pleasantly surprised us. The service is maybe a lack of English. But they are trying very hard. Much appreciated. I'd recommend The trio appetizers - Yum Mieng Yong, Ma hor, Khaotang Namprik Kakmoo, - Yum Crispy Leaf Fish, and Hor Mok Crab Meat. "Glenburn Tea Estate: "Invitation to a Country House"
"Understated elegance, unobtrusive service and superb comfort food using the best of local produce with a focus on the hill cuisines of north east India sums up the Glenburn experience. Glenburn effortlessly creates the ambience of a country house weekend, with the guests mingling easily over evening drinks followed by a communal dinner around a cosy dining table with the conversation flowing easily. I asked Holly (who along with Jemima manages this gem of a hotel with easy efficiency) whether they choose their guests and she replied that the guests choose themselves! This small eight suite boutique hotel near Darjeeling sits on a beautiful site overlooking Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. The suites are cosy and luxurious recreating the life style of the tea planters in their glory days. The estate, a working plantation, continues to produce the best of Darjeeling tea, and I would recommend even the hardiest of coffee drinkers ( I am one as well ) to forgo it while they are here and focus on imbibing some of the exquisite tea's produced by the estate. There are probably places where there may be better cuisine (though I would doubt it), more luxurious digs (I have yet to see them) and maybe a location better than this little piece of heaven; but it is really how everything, including the guests, comes together which makes Glenburn truly special. Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"Heritage Suites: "Charming and relaxing boutique hotel"
Stayed in one of the executive bungalows for 3 nights in October and had a wonderful visit. The rooms are spacious with a steam room, and the staff are so attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend a massage at the spa (you get a 15 mins complimentary one as a guest), as well as the food and happy hour cocktails! The free airport transfer in a vintage Mercedes was a real highlight. Would stay again if coming back to Siem Reap.
