4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "The best of Cambodia"
"We were picked up from the airport in Phnom Penh in the car arranged by 4 Rivers. It was a Toyota Camry, the driver was excellent, we felt safe driving through the traffic of Phnom Penh. After about 1.5 hrs we stopped for refreshments at a roadside restaurant that had the cleanest toilets ever. As we got out of the city traffic the scenery got more and more rural with great views of village life. It took us about 4.5hrs to reach the reception on the banks of the River Tatai. Our luggage was loaded on to the boat and we left straight away for the 30 minute transfer to the floating lodge. As we passed the final bend in the river the lodge came into view. What a sight!!. We were met at the lodge by Adonis who showed us to our tent and gave us information about the lodge. The tent was well appointed and had the most amazing view of local village houses on the opposite bank. We chose the last tent on the west side of the lodge and felt at one with the river. We relaxed on the pontoon during parts of the day soaking up the sun and spent the rest of the time with our guide ""By"" (I think that is the spelling) He took us on a trip to a local fishing village and introduced us to the local people. He gave us an unforgettable experience and enabled us to get a real view of the hard lives of the fishing community and some of the environmental challenges they face now and in the future. We finished the trip by kayaking into the mangroves and By's local knowledge made our time so special. The following day he took us out again at dawn on a short Jungle trek. We saw some wildlife but the high lite for us was seeing the school children arriving for classes at the local school we were able to pop into the class and see the children in their lessons. Really special. The evenings were so serene the sunsets were amazing whilst swimming in the river. At night the staff continue to impress with tasty cocktails and great food. (you choose you meals in the afternoon when one of the staff visits you at your tent). The food here is first class nice authentic Khmer cuisine with more western options for those who prefer. They also offer reasonably priced wine by the bottle or glass (yes wine in the jungle). Before dinner there is also the option to see the fireflies. All aboard the boat for a short trip down the river. Then lights out engine off as you drift slowly down stream looking for the fireflies. Really special we did it twice. We spent 3 nights at the lodge and I must say this was the most memorable part of our time in Cambodia. All the staff were amazing and it was an honour to meet them and hear about their lives living and working in this most unspoilt part of the world. Thanks to everyone at 4 Rivers. We wont forget any of you and will cherish our memories. Room Tip: The tents at the end of the row are more private"Mudanwan Villa: "Quiet, beautiful, comfortable"
We stayed in Mudanwan 2 nights. Everything is great, besides you may have some same food in these two days... We went fishing, swimming, stayed in our private outdoor hot spring pool, sit in the 2F library you can see the whole landscape of the place. My little boy loves the ducks most, he always looks at the ducks and chases them, ha... This place is kind of far from north Taiwan. If you go there from north Taiwan, remember to reserve 2-3 nights.Discover Muang La | Visit Laos | Luxury & Boutique Hotel: "A great resort in Northern Laos"
We had no idea what to expect but the resort proved to be beautiful. It is at the confluence of two rivers and has its own hot water spring. The staff are delightful, the gardens lovely and the rooms outstanding. But in fact the best feature of all is the food. The breakfast is fine but it is the set five course dinner which stars - a fascinating fusion of Lao and Western tastes. Lovely herbs and spices but not too much chilli! It is difficult to get to but well worth the effort. Highly recommended for those who want to get away from it all in great comfort amid stunning scenery.Tugu Bali: "Nice hotel"
"The tugu bali hotel is well located in Canggu: near the beach, close to restaurants & bars and surf spots! The rooms and suites are fantastics as well as the the swimming pool and the spa. The garden near the beach is really pleasant. The staff is always smilling ! A great place to stay ! "Chakrabongse Villas: "Stay in a prince’s palace"
This was built in the 19th century by a Thai prince. It's on a busy street and right next to the river. Once you get behind the gates, it's your own private palace. Pool, garden, decks overlooking the river. I think there are only about 9 rooms. It's pricey, but worth it. Our dinner was about a 7-course meal (prix-fixe), each one a delicacy. Took off my shoes at the gate and wandered around the rooms and gardens for all three days we were there.Tugu Malang: "Lovely place, lovely staff"
Stayed here for just one night whilst passing through Malang. Have been planning to stay here for a while though due to good reports. The staff were super friendly on arrival and got me checked in quickly. Afternoon tea was delicious and very welcome, and then a trip to the spa for my 15 mins welcome massage plus another hour which was fantastic. Dinner was scrumptious - please note there is a separate vegetarian menu but you have to ask for it. So much food on offer! My room was great with a lovely soft bed. There are a number of breakfast menus - so much choice! I had an upset stomach and once I told the staff they brought me some herbal tea to help. The staff also gave me a free bag of coffee and some bread snacks to keep me going on my ride back to Surabaya. I didn't want to leave! Will definitely be back to explore more of Malang and experience the Tugu again. Terima Kasih banyak! Sampai Jumpa Lagi!Villa Mathis: "Une merveille"
I stayed at Villa Mathis for a week in April 2017 with my son .... it was a marvel. Everything was perfect, beautiful setting, decor, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, the tranquility of the place .... a real haven of peace and serenity. The kitchen, also a delight! I recommend the Rice Villa, simply Wonderful!Rachamankha: "A Quiet Oasis in a Bustling Town"
This was a quiet oasis in a bustling town but still well positioned to see everything Chiang Mai has to offer. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and our room and bathroom was spotless and the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed excellent service from a very friendly and polite staff. The breakfast buffet is very good and they make a neat gin and tonic in the bar. The hotel laundry service was very efficient and cheap compared to hotels elsewhere in the world. If we visited Chiang Mai again we would definitely stay here againThe Apsara Rive Droite: "Schönes Hotel in zentraler Lage mit super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis"
Stock buchen"Satri House: "Oasis in Luang Prabang"
"The Satri House was a welcome relief from airplanes, heat, crowds and all the travails of international travel. Greeted by friendly and efficient staff, stunning and immaculate grounds, the sweet smell of lemongrass and air conditioned room, I felt ready to relax before heading out for 5 days of discovery in Luang Prabang area. If you have time, enjoy a massage in the spa and be sure to look around at all the grounds...a treat for body, mind and spirit. The staff does all they can to make your stay very pleasant! Breakfast was good but a little more variation would have been nice since we were there for several days. This hotel was selected for us by our travel company, so I have not looked into details of price, value, etc. I can only say we did not select the very top hotel package and we're not disappointed at Satri House! Room Tip: I would suggest an upper level room, as the wooden floors seem to be noisey."
