Mathis Retreat: "Ultimate Relaxation"
"I've stayed at this hotel with my parents twice - once in 2014 and once in 2016. It was then known as Kenanga. I hope that the name change doesn't impact anything else, because our stays were both so perfect. The staff are SO attentive and friendly. The service is really amazing. You're welcomed with warm smiles every morning, and really begin to feel at home. We stayed in the bungalows the first time. They are renovated so beautifully, with a cool and comfortable design. Every detail, from the bathtub to the nightstand to the soaps, seems to be intentionally planned. The second time we stayed in normal rooms. Like the bungalow, the room was lovely (only a little smaller). The only difference is that the bungalow is closer to the pool/restaurant and that the room has a nicer view of the rice paddies. All in all, I could stay in either and be just as content. The entire property is so beautiful and peaceful. They play quiet but fitting music in the open air restaurant, the pool is spotless and has a perfect temperature, there are shady and sunny spots surrounding the pool to read and relax at, the restaurant is beautiful during day and night, and the hotel isn't too far away from Ubud. During both stays we walked from the hotel to Ubud, and it's really a charming walk. The drive is less than ten minutes. I would really recommend staying outside of Ubud and going into the town during the day. It's a lot more peaceful. When I look back on our stays at Kenanga, I really feel an inner bliss. The food (again, I hope this stays the same in spite of the name change) is actually AMAZING. You have several different breakfast choices from the menu, all of which are prepared so well. It leaves you full, but not too full like at many other buffet-style breakfasts. I hate to be the kind of tourist who eats most meals at the hotel, but I have to admit that my mom and I ate two of four dinners at the hotel. Absolutely no regrets. The food is so tasty, and you can choose from local flavors to western food. I mean it when I say that this is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. They also prepare the most lovely drinks out of all kinds of fresh fruit. I'm under 18, so I only had fresh juices, but I'm sure their cocktail and alcohol selection is great. The kitchen really knows how to use natural ingredients. I had papaya juice every morning with my breakfast, and tried out several of their mixed juices during the evening when my parents had wine. My family usually doesn't go back to past destinations, and definitely not back to old hotels, just because second and third stays usually can't compare with first impressions. Kenanga is an outlier, however. We couldn't help but return for a second stay, and I'm having a hard time not knowing when I'll get to go back again. I hope everything about this hotel stays the same - the atmosphere, the charm, the service, the food, the views, and the size. I'm fine with a name change (though the name Kenanga has a special place in my heart) as long as the experience will be the same whenever I get a chance to return."Inle Princess Resort: "A true sanctuary with excellent attention to details"
We stayed in 4 hotels in Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay & Inle in Myanmar. They were all top-notch 5-star and 4-star hotels, but Inle Princess was by far the best among them! The hotel is located on a private canal, away from the lake, which is great, as you won't be bothered by the incessant noise from the motor boats. Once you are near the hotel, a rower comes onboard your boat and starts rowing quietly to the hotel. When you step foot on its premise, you truly enter a sanctuary. The service was intimate and personal - the restaurant staff remembered what we ate the previous night, and made a special dessert for us outside of the menu so that we do not have to eat the same thing twice in a row! The food was delicious, rivalling those of expensive restaurants in major cities. The spa rooms are huge and yet cosy. There are no TV in the rooms, but we take that positively as you really want to take advantage of the culture and activities of the hotel and Inle, to disconnect and not to be distractedManda De Laos: "Amazing setting with the Pond and great dinners"

"I can't get the phenomenally tasty food from Cuca out of my mind. The clever play on familiar foods you & I grew up eating but presented in a modern way with textures to please your palate to the moon and back. Must try items include the pulled pork pancake buns, turkey meatballs & all the desserts!! Great cocktails too. Sit at the chef's table to see the kitchen in action! Big big props to Chef Terry & his sous chef (sorry didn't get your name bro!) who are both MALAYSIAN! So sad to see our talent out of the country instead but so happy to see what great food & flavours our home grown revolutionaries serve up to people from the world over at one of Bali's top dining destinations!"Villa Mathis: "magnifique établissement"

QUIET in effet..Superbe establishment run by a French garden and épouse.Magnifique Okay entretenu.La room is very large and includes dressing room, indoor and outdoor bathroom plus a large terasse.l'hotel has 4 swimming pools one at the foot of the villa .Very good stay4 rivers: "Unique Experience"
"Had a really amazing and unique stay in this floating hotel. The hotel is a 30 minute boat ride from the road and so is very isolated and with only 12 Tents for guests it is very peaceful. A place to slow down and contemplate the quieter life. "Mathis Retreat: "Peaceful and charming"
We treated ourselves to a night here to escape the busy Ubud centre. It's gorgeous. The rice field views, the beautiful swimming pool and the elegant restaurant. The rooms are comfortable with a modern Balinese design. The owner spent time to introduce herself after breakfast and part some helpful knowledge. We hope to be back!Amata Lanna: "Stunning oasis near old toen"
"I cannot say enough about the beauty, tranquility and service provided at Amata Lanna Village. Everything about the place was excellent. Especially noteworthy, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Before we left, the manager (we think it was the manager) even traveled to get us coffee at the farm because it was the best coffee available. The location was decent. It was an easy tuk tuk or cab ride to town. There was a small market nearby and coffee too but hours for the coffee shop (off site) was not predictable. My only complaint was that the walls to the bathroom had decorative cut outs so privacy was limited. It didn’t matter to us as a couple. Do not hesitate to book this place!"
