Rachamankha: "Best stay in Chiang Mai"
"This was one of the most peaceful hotels that I have ever stayed in, it feels like a retreat where the soul is nourished away from the everyday hustle and bustle. The architecture, gardens and decor are amazing. In the morning someone comes to cut the grass with a pair of garden scissors instead of a lawnmower so the peace is just never disturbed. We had lovely meals in the restaurant and enjoyed every send of our visit and we will visit Thailand again for the third time just to stay in this hotel again."Misool Eco Resort: "Simply splendid"
Torn as to whether to share info about this place, or keep it a secret. Stayed here in April-2014 with my partner, in water cottage number 5. The location is spectacular and the resort is just lovely. Decent food (excellent wines), high end facilities, and wonderful/friendly staff. It is truly impressive to see what the owners have accomplished here, up to and including the engagement of local stakeholders/residences to make this place part of the local community. Oh, and the diving is truly high-end... Diving is second-best ever, following Sipadan, but all in, this place was a notch above. This, and Auberge du Manoir in Chamonix France, are the only places I/we intend to revisit. Congratulations to the owners, on an impressive undertaking.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing nature, food and hospitality"
"We arrived by a perfect flight into Yala on the day as a large group for a friends birthday celebration holiday. Noel was the perfect host, the staff and team were hospitable, knowledgeable and friendly. We did 4 safari's, over 2 large lots in the national park, spotted 8 leopards (one for a good half hour posed around a waterhole for perfect photos) and discovered many other birds and wildlife. The food was magical, different every meal, great vegetarian mixed with a touch of meat, no-one was left hungry, a great introduction to Sri Lankan food, it was hard to match after we left. Beds are comfortable, flushing toilets and outdoor showers added to the Safari. The honeymoon tent is aircon and glam so jump into that one, otherwise stay cool in the hammock provided outside your tent. I can honestly say, as an animal and bird lover, this was the highlight of my and my husbands trip, I not have the safari bug and want to do so many more! The best Safari in the region."MesaStila Resort and Spa: "Great location to unwind and relax"
"The stay was actually in December 2016, so this review is very long overdue. The five of us booked two villas, and since we were the only guests during our stay, it felt like we rented the whole property. The property is quite secluded, which makes it the perfect location to just get away from the hustle and bustle of life and relax a bit. Get closer to nature, join a yoga session or two, and there's even a rigorous jungle gym trained by a marathoner for the more active guests. Service was great, everything was meticulously prepared with great care by the staffs. When we left, almost everyone (including the management) came out to bid us farewell. Almost makes us not want to leave. One other thing worth noticing is the jamu (javanese herbal concoctions), which are freshly made every morning during breakfast. I'm not usually a jamu person, but I partake quite a lot (almost every kind) that's available."Villa Song Saigon: "Boutique hotel offered a change to district 1"
We came to vietnam & had 4 days in ho chi Minh then travelled to nha trang for a week by beach then back to ho chi Minh for 2 days before flying home. We stayed in district 1 for first 4 days & that was helpful as all the sites were in walking distance & with the heat it meant you didn't need to be out all day you could pace yourself. When we choose villa song we wanted to see another district and we got that it's in district 2 more upmarket & residential. The hotel run an hourly complementary shuttle by speed boat to district 1 which is fun & useful. The hotel Breakfast is nice and u can have it all day which is a bonus I recommend the French toast! The staff here are super friendly & helpful from restaurant to reception. They couldn't offer a late check out but offered a place for us to freshen up before going to airport which was appreciated. The last shuttle returns to hotel at about 7pm so a cab in the evening will cost you around 250,000 dong. The hotels rooms are all different but there are only about 20 so you definitely get a more personal service here.Villa Song: "Absolutely worth a stay! One of the nicest boutique hotels and great service."
From soup to nuts, the experience was superb! Greeted by a big smile and by name upon reaching the check in desk. They were prepared. The room is beautiful and clean. Refill of the complimentary mini bar each day was a great added bonus and not expected, plus it ensured you had fresh water in the room. The pool area and pool was lovely and inviting. I spent more time in and around the pool than I do in most locations. So relaxing! It was nice touring during the day and completely relaxing when at the hotel. Breakfast time could be chosen all day -- another absolutely amazing and much appreciated bonus to this hotel. Loved the food and the setting out by the river was so nice. In fact, I imagine the food was so good that they ran out of a couple things I really wanted to try on a couple of occasions. The boat ride into town was unique and let you experience the quiet outside of the center when at the hotel. The spa/massage was fabulous as well. In short, no complaints. Highly recommended. I would absolutely stay here again!!! Another bonus: the cream puffs at the turn down service one night were delicious!!David’s Kitchen: "Number 1 for a good reason"
Its the best! Tried different restaurants in the area but this one stands out. The food is so tasty! Try it and believe the hype.Inle Princess Resort: "A true sanctuary with excellent attention to details"
We stayed in 4 hotels in Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay & Inle in Myanmar. They were all top-notch 5-star and 4-star hotels, but Inle Princess was by far the best among them! The hotel is located on a private canal, away from the lake, which is great, as you won't be bothered by the incessant noise from the motor boats. Once you are near the hotel, a rower comes onboard your boat and starts rowing quietly to the hotel. When you step foot on its premise, you truly enter a sanctuary. The service was intimate and personal - the restaurant staff remembered what we ate the previous night, and made a special dessert for us outside of the menu so that we do not have to eat the same thing twice in a row! The food was delicious, rivalling those of expensive restaurants in major cities. The spa rooms are huge and yet cosy. There are no TV in the rooms, but we take that positively as you really want to take advantage of the culture and activities of the hotel and Inle, to disconnect and not to be distractedCuisine Wat Damnak: "French class comes to Khmer cooking"
We had a wonderful night at Cuisine Wat Damnak. The owner greeted us personally at the door and we had a brief conversation in Khmer. The food was exquisite and there was a choice of two degustation menus. In truth it was hard to choose because they were both so good. Great quality food and great value. Highly recommended.NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Just amazing"
"We are a family of five and have been in several luxury lodges around the world so far and for that matter we are not easy to impress. But, the devotion to fulfill his guests’ expectations as seen in Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safari Camp is hard to mach. Everything is so well organized and you feel special from the first minute you arrive there. Since we are not used to such high temperatures and humidity, we were afraid how we will cope with that, but stepping in to an air-conditioned tent and cold, wet towels as a first thing when you step down from your jeep made our fears totally irrelevant. The tents and amenities are excellent, very clean and safe from bugs. Even if you never stayed in tents before, there is no reason to fear from lack of comfort. The touch of luxury that we found in our Luxury tent was in range of a five star hotel. You cannot admire enough the hard wood furniture and commitment to details that makes this tent an accommodation for royalties. This is a rare lodge where breakfast, lunch and dinner, could compete with any top restaurant (or a million star Michelin as Noel calls it since it's under the amazing starry sky). You can ask for a special menu for kids and if you are celebrating a special occasion, the staff will do their best to make it unforgettable. Even the birthday cake made in a jungle kitchen is not a problem for them. The staff shows extensive knowledge on all the animals, but having Noel as a guide and driver is incomparable to any other. Noels lodge is a 20 minute drive from the park entrance Block 5, but the jeeps are comfortable and there are interesting things to see even on the way. The landscapes in the park are just breathtaking and beyond this world. The park is a treasure box for a birdwatchers. We love all the animals, but spoting leopard was our goal. Spoting animals in such a thick jungle is very difficult and it's not always easy to find one in an open space. But, Noel has a six sense for it and with him on the wheel, you cannot miss. His years of living in nature and his devotion to leopards taught him how to read signs, leopard footsteps and monkey alarms, to be able to bring his guests to amazing sights of animals in their natural habitat. The respect and love for nature that he and his staff are showing must surely impress you. And the passion he shows when he finds that leopard is just contagious. We saw leopards up close, sloth bears and many other animals, more then we could ever hope for. Of course, a camp like this, has its price and it´s a lot of money, but don't let the price be your main decision factor. In Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard safari camp you are buying something money can't buy - the love and passion for animals and nature and absolute commitment to every wish you might have during your stay in this camp. We returned home with some great pictures, unforgettable memories and I might say, friends for life. Thank you Noel and Cecile for making it happen! "
