Hotel Tugu Lombok: "Idilic Tugu"
What a wonderful Aloon Aloon room we chose with a partly outside bathroom - which did tend to get a little wet in parts due to a deluge of rain at times but we had plenty of towels to mop up with if needed - well it was the rainy season-Many rooms to choose from - The hotel is approx an hour and a half from the airport - but the last half an hour has very winding roads which have amazing views but I felt quite sick sitting in the back of their private taxi - the driver was very good and stopped for me when needed - on the return journey I sat in the front and was much better - we had a lovely welcome from Mr Lin - we sat in front of the wonderful pond with the fish to greet us - Mr Lin let me feed them a few times which was very nice of him - All the staff were very helpful indeed and special thanks to Ellie - sorry if spelt name wrong - enjoyed our chats etc - I couldn't believe the vast grounds of the hotel - you have to see it to believe it - and two amazing swimming pools -not the best beach Ive been to swim in - but you could get their dragon boat which was fun over to the Gillies for half or a day - so comfortable - I could go on and on about Tugu but all in all had a fabulous time so again thank you to everyone - just one thing - the hotel does not have hair dryers which I did find out about before I come after reading trip advisor so I took my own - but it wouldn't hurt to have one for the ladies.Mathis Retreat: "Great views, great staff, great stay"
"Spent 5 nights here with our two kids (aged 2.5 and 9months) and thoroughly recommend it. Spacious rooms, beautiful views overlooking the rice fields, great pool, good food. Far enough away from downtown Ubud, but close enough to get there when needed. Staff couldn't have been nicer, and were more than happy to whisk our kids away to play - allowing us to relax at the end of meals. Thoroughly recommended. "Tugu Bali: "Excellent property with excellent team"
"Tugu Bali is exotic experience. this is not modern multi story sky scrapper with typical stereotype ambiance. Its just different. It offers that serenity. you get chance to experience local culture and local recipes and most importantly, if you are looking out for total relaxation, this is the place for you. Most impressive part is the hotel staff. the whole team is courteous and make you feel special. They take extra care to meet your every expectation. They are too good. Food quality as well is very good, though the variety is bit limited."MesaStila: "Colonial charm fantastic place"
Great place to explore central java, borobudur, prambanan etc. Estate build in colonial times is perfect getaaway from the city. Nice touch with heritage style villas. Coffee plantation tour is fun and informative, get freshly ground coffee as well. Nicely nestled amongs the mountains with spectacular views, infinity pool and a massive spa for those who like to indulge. Food is decent with good mix of western and local food. Great coffee cocktails! Service is also very very good extremely friendly staff. The Apsara Rive Droite: "Dejligt hotel med super service"
Stayed June 2016, traveled with family"The Island Lodge: "A Great Place for Weekend Getaway"
"A very nice boutique resort, one hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Stayed one night at this remarkable resort for my family of four. Relaxed and enjoyed totally with the attentive service from all the staff. Restaurant offer good food and beverages with reasonable price. The sightseeing tour is sufficient and good for the kids to explore the locals in Mekong Delta. Only one negative comment is that the wifi connection in room was not stable throughout my stay at The Island Lodge. Highly recommended for a short trip stay (2 nights) away from the bustling of Ho Chi Minh City."David’s Kitchen: "Best dining experience in Chiang Mai"
This restaurant is a must if you are in Chiang Mai. The food, service and overall experience were exceptional. David greeted us upon arrival to the restaurant and continued to check in on us throughout the meal. He and his staff made us feel like royalty. The food was second to none. Highlights included the pumpkin soup and wagyu beef cheek. We walked away with full stomachs and fuller smiles. We can't wait to come back next time. The Island Lodge: "Relaxing place with lovely staff"
"We stayed here at the beginning of our trip to Vietnam for three nights, with the intention of recovering from jet lag at a leisurely place and pace. One of us had started the trip with a nasty cold and we decided it needed a look from a doctor. The hotel owner, Michel and his assistant Amy were very helpful in arranging this quickly and with a minimum of fuss. Within a couple of hours we had been to the local clinic (with Amy on hand to translate) and returned with appropriate medications. This was above what we would have expected and topped off a very relaxing stay in a well thought out hotel. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"LEOPARD SAFARIS - WILPATTU: "Highlight of our trip"
"We booked our safari with Noel's leopard safaris after reading the other reviews even though initially we thought it seemed expensive. The whole thing was brilliant, our camp host and safari guide Pila, is a walking encyclopedia and wildlife expert. He also has eyes like a hawk and an amazing ability to spot hidden wildlife. We arrived each morning as the park opened and though there were never many other jeeps he always lost them. Possibly beginners luck, we saw 2 leopards and a sloth bear on our first safari, along with a miriad of smaller mammals and gorgeous birds. Then on our last trip finally saw 2 elephants. This would have been enough but in addition the tents are comfortable and the food delicious. If you are not sure don't hesitate you won't regret it. "
