Manukan Island Resort: "Wow"
Spent 3 days, 2 nights here. Started with a lovely greeting by very friendly staff. Great room with water views. Large room, good bathroom and nice verandah to sit on and watch the world go by. Try the walk up to sunset point - was cloudy when I went, but still nice. Food in restaurant is nice, dearer than mainland but still cheap compared to home. Good buffet breakfast. Lots of people on the island during the day with locals coming over, but they all leave late afternoon then it's all yours. Very relaxing, peaceful few days. Went on snorkeling trip to nearby islands from here too. Great. Would love to come back here.Chakrabongse Villas: "An oasis in a busy City"
"The villas are in the heart of the Royal 'precinct' in the old part of the city. Its a great location, close to the Royal Palace, the Siam Museum and the flower markets. However once inside the walls, it is very calm and very relaxing. The villa's have a very authentic old Thai feeling to them and it is a refreshing change from normal 5 star hotel rooms. There are a limited number of villas and this allows them to make each guest feel very special. We dined at our own table out beside the river each night. We loved it! The food is also excellent. Another aspect of the villas that make the experience different is the story behind the villas, and the links to the Royal family. It is another reason, this hotel is a refreshing change from the normal 5 star hotels. I would highly recommend the villas and I am looking forward to going back there next time we are in Bangkok"Mathis Retreat: "Magique"
We enjoyed staying at this resort as it was both quiet and remote yet close to busy lake and its wonderful sights. The locally recruited staff is great and makes you feel truly welcome. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel given the location and enjoyed our food every time.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Wild at Heart"
"As we pulled up to the meeting point , we were met with a striking man in safari attire, Danu. Danu (our host) is a much younger Sri Lankan version of Sir David Attenborough-with a dash of Indiana Jones. His knowledge for wildlife is amazing and he has an eagle eye for spotting animals as did our amazing driver who is so knowledgable and we loved hearing about his tiger encounters in India. Both these guys are passionate conservationists but make it really interesting and are very sensitive to the needs of wildlife and safari newbies. My husband and I became so comfortable around then we found ourselves asking ridiculous questions like ""Does that elephant get lonely?"" Danu is a true professional for keeping a straight face when he answered ""Um, I haven't gotten around to asking him""... We are still laughing about but seriously these guys are like your personal wildlife Wikipedia. We booked the normal tents and were absolutely blown away by the luxury. We have been staying in 5 Star hotels throughout Sri Lanka but this was the cleanest room/tent we have ever seen with the crispest sheets and plugs for my phone. I will miss my outdoor shower, there is no better feeling than having an outdoor shower after a big day in the park. I have to talk about the food. It was next level! This was by far the best food I have had in Sri Lanka and what made it SO special was Danu showing us how to eat it like a local. I loved learning about the cuisine and Sri Lankan culture under the stars. The guys who were serving us in the bar and restaurant- a lantern lit space under the stars treated me like a jungle queen! I miss them already and plan to kidnap them the next time I come back. So I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who has a deep respect for wildlife, a love for a bit of luxury in the jungle and those who are wild at heart. Yala is calling for you. Visited the Sathorn branch which is just a 7 mins walk away from Chong Nansi BTS station. Important note to book in advance for a place as it got packed pretty quickly, even had a table of ladies celebrating hen's night there. You can easily make a booking through their website. The food there is exceptional!! The ambience is nice with music and soft lighting. Portions are good for 2 pax and we were able to order a variety of dishes to share. They had the deep fried siakap fish with yummy garlic soy sauce and the pork in yellow curry was super yummy. For dessert, you must try the thai tea-flavoured panna cotta, which is literally melt in your mouth concentrated thai tea with smooth texture! Will definitely come back again!Reverie Siam: "Amazing!"
"We stayed at this hotel on our Honeymoon in September 2014. I would write a long review about how good this hotel was but you will see there are countless others already! All I will say is our stay here was amazing, from the fantastic villa to the brilliant breakfast, great pool, delicious evening menu, lovely drinks and even great entertainment. 100% recommended"Villa Song Saigon: "An Amazing Boutique Hotel"
"What an unforgettable stay we had in Villa Song ! The restored colonial villa near the river is stunning. Decorated with nice antique furniture combined with modern art. We were happy to stay for 4 nights in the Sanctuary Suite consisting of a cosy sittingroom, a large bedroom, a luxury bathroom and last but not least a large comfortable balcony overlooking the river. We spend lots of moments with a tea early morning and with a drink late evening to watch the river and its boats passing by, which gave us a peaceful feeling. The hospitality of the staff is excellent. We had a pleasant chat with the General Manager Mr. Yega and the Chef Cook Mr. Kevin, both with a lot of experience in hotel business. But also the restaurant manager Mr. Freddie, the waiters, the bartender's, the receptionists and the cleaning staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The speed boat service to town is well organized and a great experience. No need to waste your time with a taxi in the hussle of the traffic. In a 15 minutes enjoyable ride on the river you are in the heart of town. On the moment we stayed in Villa Song, we had the pleasure to choose our diner besides the regular menu, from a special menu created by Chef Cook Kevin and a guest Chef Cook from singapore which came for two weeks for this special event. We had surprising and delicious dishes with a fusion of Asian and Western food and this all in a romantic ambiance near the river. Villa Song is the top of luxury and hospitality… a beautiful place to stay. Thanks a lot to Mister Yega and his team !"Slow Villas and Spa: "Best of the Gili islands"
Amazing place! Luxury, privacy and wonderful staff, definitely one of the best places to stay on the gili islands, thank you Julie and your slow family for having us! Couldn't recommend this place moreSEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Culinary delights. Visiting friends"
The restaurant SEEDS in Yangon is gorgeous not only from the location. The cuisine will win. Treat for the palate and for the eyes. The service is very friendly and competent. From the design of the house, the decoration up to the dishes nothing was left to chance. Lucia and Felix Episser create an atmosphere as if you were visiting friends. Can SEEDS recommend that it was too for a romantic evening, a family dinner or a business occasion, the SEEDS is all needs.
