Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Delicious Food and Amazing Service"
Very original dishes mixing French and Cambodian savours. Great results as all the dishes we had were really delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is remarkable, spacious and traditional, perfect for romantic dinner. Last but not least, across all the restaurants I was lucky enough to try in Asia, I hardly met people as dedicated and nice than at Cuisine Wat Damnak. I can't eat a wide variety of food, and it can be particularly tricky specially for fishes (some I can, some I can't)... Carole Salmon was kind enough to follow-up with me days in advance to accommodate the best meal possible, and proactively warning me about sauce I could eat or not. Cuisine Wat Damnak was recommended to me by my friends who traveled in Siem Reap before me, and I will do the same to anyone who go there - if there is one restaurant to try, that's really it!Samuay & Sons: "Great meal well worth a visit"
We were meeting friends in Nong Khai and they asked us to go to their favourite restaurant in the area. We were not disappointed and can fully understand why they enjoy it so much. It's a narrow restaurant with a sort of mezzanine that allows you to overlook the restaurant and see the food being prepared and cooked from upstairs. It does not hold too many customers. The staff were very friendly, but the food is the real star of the show. It is fresh, tasty and well presented. A real surprise was the lovely desserts. "We held our wedding and stayed at this beautiful property last month. We have booked two suite rooms facing the library garden (if you know where the hidden library is) and a few superior rooms. Our family and guests loved the peaceful and oriental ambience of the property. Located in the old city, waling distance to Wat Pra Singh, Oasis Spa Lanna and Sunday night market. only 10-15mins drive to the airport. If you would like to stay away heavy touristy area and would like to enjoy the resort indulgence and retreat, this could be an option. If anyone is also considering a destination wedding at non-beach location in Thailand, highly recommended!! The hotel does not offer a package but will customise according to your needs and preference. We would like to thank you for Rachamankha to have made our big day successful and memorable! We would love to visit and stay on our anniversary day again! Please note that the hotel does not allow a child under 12 years though. "As soon as we stepped in the door we knew that this was going to be a wonderful experience. Imam the Manager gave us a warm welcome. Every room is unique and in traditional style set around numerous courtyards with wonderful decorative detail. Breakfast is waitress served by professional staff at all levels. There is a menu with a wide range of choices. Afternoon tea is served with a selection of treats. Attention to detail is given and nothing is too much trouble. I would echo all the previous reviews. Yes this place is out of the way, and in a completely different spot to the big resorts in Damai.
