MesaStila: "Relaxing getaway"

Review by: rnsrnsrns | Source: Trip Advisor
Beautiful place just like the photos. The rooms are nice, clean, in the middle of nature. There are a lot of activities to do in house from coffee plantation tour to yoga in the morning. The staffs are nice and made the experience exceptional, especially our coffee tour guide. What can be improved is perhaps food; it is not that it sucks but rather for such a nice resort we expected more. Wine by the glass at the restaurant wasn't great either and overall wine prices / corkage price are high. However I think the overall experience is great. Very relaxing. Would come back.

Manukan Island Resort: "10 idyllic days in paradise"

Review by: juniorBrighton | Source: Trip Advisor
"Hillside villas: fantastic, bright, airy, separate bedroom and lounge, satellite tv incl movies, huge bathroom with waterfall tap over bath, good warm showers, lovely little touches like slippers, bathrobes, 2 complimentary waters, 2 cokes, and 2 sprites per day. For cheaper and no steps the beach suites are newly renovated, very nice, a couple of minutes walk from the private beach area, 5 minutes walk max from restaurant, view nice but is on edge of busy public beach. Wi-fi was assigned to each room and worked all the time for me. 27 rooms/villas total now. Beach: We stayed on private beach for 10 days - wow! Gorgeous, soft white sand and lovely warm sea, palm trees full of coconuts, views of the rainforest, sunsets, monitor lizard takes a nightly swim. The beach is cleaned immaculately daily. But the seabed does need to be cleaned more from odd bits of rubbish - we mentioned to Ben, the Manager, who is talking with Sabah Parks about it. It did NOT put us off sea swimming. Facilities: huge varied breakfast outside with fans, we had all meals outside with fans - perfect, even on the beach! 16 choices on the menu but Joey the chef made a different vegetarian menu for me every night, at a very good price, our maximum bills were 65MR pp for huge buffet , most meals were less than this, even with starters. We spent under £300 for the 10 nights on food and drink! A bargain. Alcohol expensive, as per Borneo. This is indicative of the personalised service at Manukan - everything is possible, just ask! Quiet bar, pool area very quiet but nice, small parties come for an evening meal from the mainland some nights. 3 piece acoustic & bass band serenade you every night too. Staff: EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. Friendly, not intrusive, really care about all the clients and their happiness. Small and informal with very high standards of cleanliness and service. Thank you Ben, Welther, Joey, Sabre, Frederick, Yazid, Shima, Jessica, the new Mazilla, Nora, the band,.... The monitor lizards are safe and lovely to watch, hardly any spiders at all, but we used lots of deet against the mosquitoes (not too bad) and sand flies. There are mosquito plug-ins in the villa and a coil is lit at the evening turn-down service so you can continue to sit on the balcony at night. Things to do: we went on a day trip to Kota Kinabalu to see the City Mosque and do some shopping in one of the malls. Management and reception will arrange a boat at a good price 65 mr pp return (£13) or you can use the public one, slightly cheaper. It is only 10 minutes. From Manukan - There are watersports - thankfully they go offshore so it is not noisy, the sea-walking looked amazing, trips to other islands, snorkelling trips (there are not many fish jsut off the beach in comparison to the Maldives but other guests said the 3 island trip was good for fish). Cafe and shop run independently too if you need, but Manukan also sells the necessities, toiletries, drinks, crisps, beer in their shop too. A longer stay, 10 nights, allowed us to really appreciate this island. We had been to Sepilok Sanctuaries and also Turtle island before and were glad to have such peace in magical surroundings. Our memories will last forever. Do not hesitate to ask questions. Jayne and Mark"

Hotel Tugu Lombok: "So unique"

Review by: A TripAdvisor Member | Source: Trip Advisor
If you ever have the chance to visit Lombok for honeymoon occasion, consider staying at Tugu as it has the most romantic beach in the North part of the island. A beautiful white sandy beach combined with breathtaking view is too good to be missed. They offer lots of activities such as golfing, snorkelling to Gili, and some recommended tours. There are not many choices for food outside the hotel though. The service is excellent in many ways. Our stay was the most memorable one as the staff always paid attention to every small detail. It was a truly unique experience

THE ISLAND LODGE: "Great place to stay"

Review by: Noriko U | Source: tripadvisor.com
"I'm currently living in My Tho city and this is my first time my boyfriend visiting me in My Tho. I have worked for Thoi Son island for 3 months but didn't know they have this kind of great resort hotel on this island. We stayed here for two nights and had dinner for the first night. Tastes awesome and the staff who served the dishes was really friendly. We also tried spa and it was awesome too. We really relaxed and felt great. Next time my bf comes over My Tho city, we will stay here again for sure. "

Rachamankha: "A tranquil haven and touch of paradise"

Review by: Graham R | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed five nights in this beautiful hotel. It is a haven of peace in the busy city of Chiang Mai. The restaurant (Courtyard under the stars) is perfect with excellent food, perfect service and evening Thai musicians. Rooms are traditional with all mod cons. Public areas are charming and the pool perfect. Most areas of the old city are within gentle walking distance 10 - 45 minutes). All staff are most helpful. We found this hotel to be a touch of paradise.

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Delicious food and friendly service"

Review by: Cynthia852 | Source: Trip Advisor
I was only my way to another restaurant but i stopped by and checked it out as i saw this on tripadvisor. While i was looking on my phone on the tripadvisor review, the owner came out and said i shouldnt be standing on the road as its dangerous. He invited me in to look at the menu and i decided to stay for dinner. There were two set menus with 5 or 6 course and they are very delicious and value for money (US 27/31). The duck pancake was particularly delicious. I asked to switch some dishes from the other menu and they were happy to accommodate. Wine was only US 4 per glass. Service was good and the decor was lovely. The owner will also come and present some fruit as well as chatting with you after your meal. Id have to pay more than US 100 a meal like this. Highly recommended.

This is truly a food lovers total package . Not cheap but in saying that what is produced here isn't cheap wear ever you are. Thank you Locavore for an amazing lunch. PS. Cocktails are pretty good to boot"

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Mrs"

Review by: EmilyB-N | Source: Trip Advisor
"Our adventure was with our two best friends & our four children. Be prepared for a bumpy ride to get to Glenburn but once you make it, it's like your very own piece of Eden! The bedrooms are exquisitely decorated with beautiful Indian material & very comfortable all with electric blankets & glorious white cotton sheets. We stayed in the Planters suite which boasts a huge four-poster bed as well as a single bed for our 3 year old daughter & Glenburn provided a travel cot for our younger daughter. We were all very comfortable & warm during our 3 night stay. The staff are exceptional & will stop at nothing to help make your stay the best it can be. They are charming & polite & were fantastic with our children. We even managed a child free day when we did the 2 hour walk to the river & stayed for a leisurely lunch while the children were looked after by the team. On our return they were all happily exhausted from a day of outside playing & two very content couples had a peaceful night! The food is utterly delicious, with lots of it grown from the beautifully kept Glenburn garden - I definitely put on weight over my 3 night stay! One of Glenburns other charms is being able to enjoy a delectable 3 course dinner in the lovely dining room in the company of the other guests who are from all over the world. It is so interesting sharing travelling stories & hearing others different experiences. All in all I cannot rate Glenburn more highly & hope very much that I will return again. Many thanks to you all at Glenburn for making our stay such a happy one - we all loved it!"

Supanniga Eating Room: "So much goodness"

The crab is fabulous, but I can't get enough of the wing bean salad. I know, salad right? But is just so good.

Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Get away from it all"

Review by: carkb | Source: Trip Advisor
We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. There were only 4 other couples staying, we had the pool to ourselves most of the time, the hotel is surrounded by lovely gardens/plants/trees with a giant lily pond in the grounds. Food was very nice but it is cambodian only, if you want western then you will have to go into battambang. Unfortunately you cannot get away from the party/religious music that goes on at night and early morning from the village (April is party/wedding season) but keeping the air con on all night helps to drown it out. Also dont worry about creatures jumping on the roof in the night - not sure what they were but you get used to it. Lovely staff. Would not say this is a place for families just couples.
