The Cabochon Hotel: "French Indochine Chic"
This hotel is set in an elegant period building down a quiet lane. It has a 1920s period styling with a bit of big game hunter and French colonialism thrown in for good measure. It's not an all-out luxury hotel. It's more an experience hotel, and I had a great experience. IT's like going back in time to a by-gone period which a jarring and interesting juxtaposition from the hustle and bustle happening less than 100m on Sukhumvit. Choose this for a unique boutique experience in central Bangkok.Tugu Lombok: "Exceeded all expectations"
I cannot rate this place more highly or thank the team enough for making our stay so perfect. Tugu Lombok has been sensitively designed in keeping with the island's heritage. The resulting effect is the combined pleasures of traditional style and modern luxury. It's location on Lombok's north west coast means it is well away from the main towns and villages (although you are only ever a taxi ride away from anywhere you want to go, and the team at Tugu Lombok can arrange transportation as required). There is excellent snorkeling to be had, and coral reefs less than 1/2 km offshore. Alternatively check out the nearby Gili Islands (approximately 20 minutes by boat) which has amazing coral reefs and under water gardens (we saw turtles, sea snake, and all manner of tropical fishes). During your stay be sure to check out the excellent activities on offer. Whether visiting the waterfalls or surfing or snorkeling around the Gili Islands, all our tours were exclusively designed and delivered for us: No groups or crowds, just personalised service and outstanding experience. The food at Tugu Lombok is produced to the highest standards, with attention to detail both in presentation and the ingredients that were used. There are traditional local dishes as well as a good selection of western style dishes to choose from, so something for everyone. The spacious rooms follow a similar theme with luxurious fabrics and furnishings combined in a traditional style, topped off with thoughtful details to delight you. The staff worked tirelessly to keep our room tidy, and would remake it up to 3 times each day without ever being seen. This focus on delivering outstanding customer experience runs throughout Tugu Lombok, from day trips and excursions, to restaurant and bar team, to reception and the management team who are always on hand to assist you, to the florists and room cleaners, to the drivers and tour guides, to the gardeners and everyone else in between. We wish to thank you all for making our stay do perfect. Tugu Lombok is a magnificent hotel. But the team and customer service ethos will exeed all your expectations.Rakkojae Seoul: "A peaceful"
This hanok is very beautiful. I had a peaceful moment when staying there. The food is delicious and the host are very helpful and nice. He is a good English speaker, it is easy to communicate with him and he is always in quick respond. Definitely, I will stay here again and highly recommended!Rachamankha: "Real and Unique Lanna"
"The hotel was very nice with the unique Lanna combining with Chinois design and decoration. The place is clean, serene and peaceful. Just like i was walking in another world and time paused. The staffs were so helpful and gave me very warm welcome. The hotel is located behind Phra Singh temple where is the heart of old city area in central Chiang Mai. It's very to promenade the cultural sight-seeing. Also it's very easy to go to Sunday weekend market for your intersting Thai and handcrafted arts snd souvenirs. If i have a chance, i surely go back to stay here."Inle Princess Resort: "WOW, WOW, WOW – just awesome"
"This place is the best!! I read some of the negative reviews and after staying at this property, I can only assume that the people were on drugs who did not like the place. This beautiful property sits waterfront on the lake. When you boat arrives, they turn off the engine and paddle in so the guests are not disturbed by engine noise. Our room was massive! All wood and just beautiful beyond belief. Same with the bathroom - massive. The big treat was the outdoor shower, we both loved it. No television in the room which is great. Perfect bed and netting around the bed. Dining room was just great with great food. The service was off the chart great - from check in, bar, dining room and even the friendly gardeners. I had a massage which was also just great. Our tour guide picked us up each day in the boat and off we went to see the sites. I regretted not having an extra day just to hang by the pool or sit on my deck, something you might want to think about because it is so peaceful. PROS: Massive room Great air conditioning Great Service Great food - especially breakfast Good drinks Great views of the lake - quiet Great bedding with turn down service They spray for mosquitos like crazy CONS: None I would highly recommend this place. If you are looking for a hot, jumping disco club disco place, this is not for you. If you want to relax and see the sights, this is it!!!"Manda De Laos: "Traditional Laos food in wonderful setting"
Dinner here, The setting is wonderful with lily ponds and palms and mood lighting. Fantastic Lao cocktails followed by traditional food. All wonderful and at a reasonable price for those used to eating out in equivalent places in UK The hospitality was outstandingCuca: "I need a six star button to review this"
Great location, stunning food, beautifully presented. Cuca is right up there among the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure in eating in. I have been several times already and I love this place - and thankfully I live very nearby!Samanea Beach Resort: "Wonderful Resort"
Can be the best place to stay in. The view is great and the services are wonderful. The stuff are so friendly and warm welcoming that they gave make me wanna go there again. The decoration are so classic and l love it.Glenburn Tea Estate: "A wonderful place"
"On the journey down to Glenburn I was rather wishing we had just stayed in Darjeeling ...and then we arrived. From the moment we stepped out of the car I was smitten! There was a lovely warm welcome from Jemima and Glenburn itself is the most beautiful place, it feels straight from the pages of an upmarket magazine. The house is full of the most beautiful textiles and furnishings and the views are to die for. We had lunch under the pomelo tree - and what a treat to be able to eat salads after 3 weeks in India. The food is delicious, fresh and unusual and different at every meal. All the staff were lovely and Jemima organised everything seamlessly and with a smile. I would go back again in an instant. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"Reverie Siam: "One of my favourite hotels of all time"
"Stayed three nights in a villa and absolutely loved it. The grounds are beautifully manicured and the entire resort is just so peaceful. The riverside bar is stunning and serene, and the cocktails and wine list are excellent and well priced. The villa was lovely, done in a colonial style with a private outdoor patio, bathroom with glass ceiling and walls and a large jacuzzi, comfortable beds with high quality linen, to and DVD player, and basically anything else you could need. Staff were friendly and efficient. The included breakfast was of a very high standard and you could choose two meals cooked to order each morning. There is a free tuk tuk into town on demand which was useful for going in for the night markets etc. Despite being the most expensive place in town, it is not expensive by western standards and represents very good value. My only suggestions for improvement would be to allow food by the pool, and perhaps to even develop a poolside snack menu, so that people can enjoy some fries or another snack by the pool with their beers and cocktails! Also the food at the restaurant, whilst delicious, often came at different times to my dining partner whilst it should have been served together. These are minor points however and I would recommend this place to anyone, and will undoubtedly return next time I am in Thailand, as I have never found a resort as relaxing and peaceful as this before. Stayed February 2017"
