Muang La Lodge: "A magical experience in Northern Laos"

Review by: travelerchetd | Source: Trip Advisor
"We have been fortunate to travel to many wonderful places with wonderful experience but I must say our recent stay at Muang La Resort rates among two that felt magical. The attractive designed buildings and immaculate green grounds set smack dab beside the Nam Pak (river) in this little valley beside the Muang La village is an idyllic spot for a vacation. From the moment we were welcomed by the general manager and staff with a welcome beverage and snack, to our beautiful and comfortable rooms and the delicious meals - we so enjoyed our stay here. Since traveling with our high-school aged son we booked two adjacent rooms at the edge of the property which overlooked the Nam Pak. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, as were the bathrooms. We enjoyed walking to the dining area (covered but open to beautiful views of the river and surrounding hills) as there is well cared for lawns and tropical plants. The meals were delicious, from several choices for breakfast to the gourmet fusion dinners. We found every staff member to be friendly and attentive to our requests and needs. You could lounge at the Resort property and thoroughly enjoy yourself - we chose to experience it all, from the infinity pool on the island in the middle of the Nam Pak (complete with pool bar and snack service - recommend the Lao Mojito and Khamu Blue), to the hot spas (both the resorts's private dip and the very hot community spa shared with the village)... the steam room was a treat for the nose and sinuses with a mixture of lemongrass and other herbs). We rode available bikes to the Khamu village across the river and also took several excursions with the arranged guide Don. Loved the mountain bike ride along the rice paddies to the local villages and through town. The 4-wheel drive adventure to the Hmong village and through the forest to climb the rock overlooking the valley was an amazing and exhilarating journey, but the biggest impact on us was walking through the villages and interacting with the people - such kind and warm people who willingly shared their life with us. Getting to Muang La Resort requires dedication (for us, a 5-hour van ride from Luang Prabang) - but so much worth it. This stay really gave us a feel for the warm-hearted people of Southeast Asia. Thank you to the management and staff of Muang La for a perfect stay - memories we will treasure!"

Nimmu House: "A really nice change of pace!"

Review by: tigertomPackwood | Source: tripadvisor.com
Most people spend their first night in Ladakh in Leh (the site of the airport) which is fine, but another- and arguably better- option is to drive one hour west to the village of Nimmu near the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, and stay at the wonderful Nimmu House. I stayed in one of the excellent and comfortable tents, which were both spacious and quiet (unlike Leh). The food was really good, especially the lemon chicken which was absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly, and the only improvements I could suggest would be some better grounds maintenance. I would definitely stay here again!

Talabgaon Castle: "Best of India"

Review by: A TripAdvisor Member | Source: Trip Advisor
"I can't begin to express how incredibly gracious the manager and staff are and how hard they worked to make sure our stay was nothing short of magical. Do yourself a favor and add this to your itinerary if exploring Northern India. We went to Jaipur right after by car and driver. So this was definitely doable, even if just for one night. Be sure to get cash out before you arrive and come hungry. The chef is fantastic. They have a bar and a beautiful pool on the property as well. Safe travels! Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

Locavore: "Awesome set menu"

Very fine place to lunch or dinner. Reservation by phone quite hard, but female staff more helpful when you come to booking. However, the set menu is amazing. You will happy to spend two hours meal. 😆😙👍

Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Outstanding Cultural Experience"

Review by: Mia T | Source: Trip Advisor
Staying at Rakkojae Seoul was incredibly fun. Highly recommended for anyone seeking history & culture vacation. Rakkojae resided in the heart of the Bukchon village, convenience location, great walking neighborhood, steps away from tourism info center, and minutes away from subway station. We stayed for 3 nights in the separate house. The house was well maintained very nice and clean. The staffs were very friendly and helpful especially Mr. Kim the manager. The traditional breakfast serve daily was excellent. Rakkojae brought us an amazing experience in Seoul that one may not get if staying at modern hotel.

The management is superb, each meal delicious, serene location in the countryside and wonderful staff. Also, the massages are special and the hot springs a surprise. We heartily recommend Muang La Resort to all.

Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "A peaceful and luxurious haven"

Review by: lemonpepper | Source: tripadvisor.com
From the moment I arrived I felt at home in my comfortable room. Very friendly staff, excellent service wished I could have stayed longer. The food was fantastic too and as for the quirky interior design it must be seen to be believed. This will now be home from home whenever I come to Bangkok. They also arranged a trip to a tranquil and beautiful spa for me,

Sukoon Houseboat: "Can wait to go back again!"

Review by: Pips30 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I stayed in this beautiful houseboat for 3 nights with my mother. We had the most wonderful time here. + The staffs are very good. They all made sure we have a comfortable stay. Thank you Bashir, Ashiq, Rasheed, Passang & Bela. + The view from the sun deck and the front area is breath taking + The food is yummy. Not spicy and not with too much masala + The rooms are clean and bathroom is big + We had an opportunity to meet the owner of Sukoon. He is such a fine gentleman. It was a pleasure meeting him - The bed is a bit too soft. I realized it only on my last day when I woke up with a stiff back but I guess if you inform them they will take care of it. - wifi is a bit slow but then who needs a wifi if the view is mind blowing We shall be back again very soon with our entire family."

Villa Song: "Absolutely worth a stay! One of the nicest boutique hotels and great service."

Review by: Kris G | Source: Trip Advisor
From soup to nuts, the experience was superb! Greeted by a big smile and by name upon reaching the check in desk. They were prepared. The room is beautiful and clean. Refill of the complimentary mini bar each day was a great added bonus and not expected, plus it ensured you had fresh water in the room. The pool area and pool was lovely and inviting. I spent more time in and around the pool than I do in most locations. So relaxing! It was nice touring during the day and completely relaxing when at the hotel. Breakfast time could be chosen all day -- another absolutely amazing and much appreciated bonus to this hotel. Loved the food and the setting out by the river was so nice. In fact, I imagine the food was so good that they ran out of a couple things I really wanted to try on a couple of occasions. The boat ride into town was unique and let you experience the quiet outside of the center when at the hotel. The spa/massage was fabulous as well. In short, no complaints. Highly recommended. I would absolutely stay here again!!! Another bonus: the cream puffs at the turn down service one night were delicious!!
