The River Resort: "A destination in iteself"

Review by: Vincent G | Source: Trip Advisor
I am just back from an extended week-end trip to The River Resort. The resort is so peaceful, the rooms are absolutely beautiful, with large terraces, and the outdoor shower is fabulous! We went to visit the temple and some waterfalls, and I had not realized that so many other attractions are available nearby. That is great: I will come back then :)

Satri House: "Lovely oasis in Luang Prabang"

Review by: NeilC5 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed at Satri House for 3 nights at the end of our Laos trip. The hotel rooms are beautifully refurbished and full of antiques (and have modern showers & A/C!). Rooms fumigated every night too to get rid of mosquitos. Lovely pool to relax in and little poolside bar. Free bikes on offer to explore the city and the staff are very helpful in arranging / suggesting places to visit and restaurants. No TVs in the room help relax and adjust to the pace of life! Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"

Tugu Lombok: "Vast rooms with plunge pools, lots of art and relaxed friendly style"

Review by: happyholidaygirl059 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We arrived here at the end of our holiday. Set on a very pleasant quiet area of Lombok near a local village it has great grounds with lots of sculptures and rather wacky at times art but fun! Room - very big with an enormous double bed, facing out onto a sweet garden then straight onto the beach also the garden has a great plunge pool. Comfortable rooms with good linen and bedding. We had an outdoor shower, bath etc and again a back garden complete with fish and additional water features! Staff - a delight, friendly yet professional with a good sense of humour and interest in their clientele. One spent ages teaching me the local Indonesian words they really. You can have your meals wherever you want here - on the beach, by the pool nothing is too much for the staff. Food: We were impressed with he food and enjoyed trying the different indonesian dishes for lunch and even breakfast - try the black rice with coconut and palm sugar. Afternoon tea is a mixture of local delicacies and sweet cakes. Facilities: two really great pools, paddle boards and all the snorkelling great available as well as bikes. We did a snorkelling trip on the hotel boat which is a traditional craft, lovely picnic provided by the hotel. Snorkelling is quite nice although I worry that full marine control isn't quite happening in Gilli and Lombok - lots of boats and lot of fishing - so we didn't see very many big fish but 4 turtles!! We did a great bike ride and enjoyed cycling through the villages where everyone was very smiley and welcoming. We took Adi one of the hotel drivers for a day and had a day trip - he was great, flexible and recognised easily what we wanted. The grounds - they really are a delight and make for a very restful holiday. Everything is easy. I was greeted each morning by the man who did the flower arrangements for all the rooms and dining and he always offered me one of his creations....it just is a friendly and easy place. I would readily come back."

The Island Lodge: "A charming adress in Mekong"

Review by: FranckMarteau | Source: Trip Advisor
After a vibrant week end in Saigon, the island lodge is the perfect place to be : stunning view on the mekong river, just wildness around, an amazing lodge with only 12 bedrooms, lovely decorated in the spirit of the old 'indochine', superb bathroom and a terrace on the river to relax. The swimming pool is beautiful, cristal clear, and you can enjoy a jacuzzi, a sauna and also a typical spa for great vietnamese massages. Michel and Francoise, the french owners will ensure that everything is made for you with a true sign of details and perfection. If you want to pick a unique adress along the Mekong, the island lodge is the place to be ! We left by boat to Cai be and the lodge had organized a nice pack lunch on the boat....what a pleasure !

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Elegant food and service"

Review by: getmeonaplane_10 | Source: Trip Advisor
"My wife and I enjoyed a dinner here as part of our honeymoon this week. I had the 6 course vegetarian menu, and my wife had one of the six course omnivorous options (including a frogs legs option!). All courses were simply superb. Beautiful balanced flavours were supported by technical flair. Service was perfect, warm yet unobtrusive. The decor was subtle and the atmosphere calm. Truly, this was one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed. Thank you!"

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "The Last of a Dying Breed"

Review by: JohnThangaraj | Source: Trip Advisor
"They don't make hotels like this anymore. Which is a pity, because a stay at Tiger Mountain is about so much more than just 'physical' luxury. It's enriching - visually, intellectually and emotionally. First things first - it's a fantastic property, perched high up on a mountain overlooking the Pokhara Valley with fantastic views of the Annapurna range. This is eco-luxury at its finest : great views, great service, great food but with minimal environmental impact. The rooms are nice, in a spartan sort of way (no TV, no WiFi, no aircon - not that you need it) with four poster beds, charmingly rustic furniture and a private, sit out balcony. The food is fantastic - among the best you will ever have, whether it's traditional Nepali fare or the more Western dishes that are traditionally served at dinner. But many hotels have great views, great rooms and great food. Tiger Mountain's secret weapon are it's guests and the fact that dinner is a communal meal where all the guests get together over 4 courses and copious amongst of alcohol. Over the course of 3 nights we met a couple who had driven a Land Rover from London to South Africa and who were currently doing relief work in Nepal, a Scotsman who spent a year living in a campervan with him family and his dog, and an ex military attache who also oversaw the recruitment of Gurkhas for the British Army. Simply put, these are things money can't buy. And that's to say nothing of Marcus, the Managing Director of the place who makes it a point to have a drink with every one of his guests and who has a number of remarkable insights and anecdotes about Nepal, India, England and everything in between to share. If you're looking for a traditional luxury hotel with every modern comfort, this property probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for old world charm, delightful dinnertime conversations and a view that just doesn't quit, Tiger Lodge has your number. It may be a bit pricey, but it's Worth Every Penny."

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing Experience on Peacock Safari"

Review by: Mara L | Source: Trip Advisor
Fantastic. Despite not seeing any leopards (which is very unlucky so we have heard) my family and I had a lovely time. The food was beyond delicious, the staff were so attentive (one staff member per guest) and while it was camping, the set up made it feel very luxurious. The 5am wake-ups were a challenge but were balanced by the yummy breakfast we received on return, and the fun of the safari. We stayed over NYE and the staff made sure to make it a special evening- celebrating a "Singapore" NYE with Moet at 9pm due to our early wake up the next morning. We were even treated to an amazing "leopard dance" by Silva. He was a staff member who is an ex dancer and it was phenomenal!

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Great food in a lovely location"

Review by: "Poppygoodwill " | Source: Trip Advisor
A comfortable, modern interior with funky sculptures and lots of light. A gorgeous lake view and terrace to sit and enjoy a pre-dinner drink. Delicious food and knowledgeable, attentive service. The genuine hospitality of Lucia and Felix. And it is truly vegetarian friendly. We let them know beforehand that I am vegetarian and without asking, the amuse bouche and other little extras that came were all vegetarian, which was very much appreciated. A really lovely evening in a special place. Well worth it.

Villa Song Saigon: "The most decadent hotel in a peaceful location"

Review by: Versusthevoid | Source: Trip Advisor
From the moment we got out of the taxi upon arrival to getting in a taxi to leave, the staff were all tremendously helpful, polite and cheerful. They really made everything seem as if it were no trouble at all. Our room was decadent, comfortable and a joy to stay in. To top it off, all of the added perks just made this the most wonderful hotel to spend our short time in Ho Chi Minh in: the Apple TV, the complimentary minibar and the boat shuttle to the centre.
