Muang La Resort: "Hidden gem"

Review by: Jean claude V | Source: tripadvisor.com
By the moment we checked in, we felt at home. Great rooms on stlits, nice decoration and superb bahroom. Great riverview watching local life (bathing, laundrying, fishing) and buffaloes. Superb attentive service, such as hot herbal and ginger tea in the tub, local espresso coffeemachine on the terrace below the rooms. Friendly staff with a special mention to Rodolphe, the French Manager, who makes your stay being so special. Excellent creative meals and picknicks, enjoyable excursions. A great guide showed us the secrets of the Laos forests (edible herbs, medicinal plants), a true authentic experience. and last but not least, the MASSAGE....unique and perfect.

The Governor’s House: "Boutique hideaway in the city"

Review by: Soph1605 | Source: tripadvisor.com
I stayed only 2 nights at the hotel but Yin Yin and her team really looked after me and it felt like I was a guest in their house. The hotel is beautiful with its antiques but manages to integrate modern amenities. Breakfast and lunch were delicious, with big portions I thought. Although the property in on a boulevard it is secluded enough not to be noisy. It's in walking distance to downtown and its main attractions, so it was the perfect fit for me.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "New Year’s Eve"

Review by: Ajit K | Source: Trip Advisor
A boutique property in the midst of the tea estate with captivating views of Mt Kanchenjunga. The 19th century built cottages are luxurious and remind of the English countryside. One can spend the entire day relaxing and sun bathing in the beautiful lawn gazing at the variety of flora and the majestic mountain ranges. They offer various hikes exploring the nearby villages walking though the tea estates with expert in-house guides. Must visit property if one wishes to get pampered in the most beautiful of locales.

Villa Song Saigon: "Great place with a great view"

Review by: Jacqueline C | Source: Trip Advisor
"We love this place, especially for breakfast or lunch or just a cup of coffee. Look out over the river and relax. We went here with my son of 6 months, they are very baby friendly. They provide a high chair and baby bowl. The staff is very helpful. The food is very good, we had breakfast there and that is great. Choice of different types of breakfast. For lunch we had fish and chips and a duck salad! Very good. Try it out!"

Maison Polanka: "GREAT AMBIENCE, TASTY FOOD!"

Review by: Schmidt P | Source: Trip Advisor
Visited Maison Polanka a day after my birthday and I had nothing but a super pleasant experience. Surrounded by beautiful greenery and a nice, calming atmosphere, it helped me relax for a bit and forget city life. Tried their Beef Samosas and their expertly brewed coffee... Will I ever come again? DEFINITELY.

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Full of Love"

Review by: Rob12375 | Source: Trip Advisor
"As their website states the husband and wife team that owns and operates this restaurant are full of love of everything and it shows in the food that they serve, the ambiance and comfort of the restaurant and the many good causes they support. When I emailed the restaurant to book a reservation here is the response that I received: ""Thank you so much for your reservation. We will set up a nice table for you on terrace. Thank you so much. With best regards, Lin Lin"". Right from the start I had no doubt that I had picked a great place to dine in Yangon. Felix is a Michelin Starred Chef who has worked in many restaurants in Europe and his wife and partner Lucia is a wonderful hostess and manager for the restaurant. Lucia came by our table several times during our dinner to visit with us and we had several amazing conversations with her about their history as husband and wife in the restaurant industry. We learned from Lucia that she and Felix decided that they wanted more than what Europe had to offer and traveled to Malaysia to open a restaurant there and then continued on to Myanmar where they found their dream location. The food that they serve at Seeds is absolutely outstanding, made from very fresh local ingredients and the servings are generous. Between each course we were provided with small snacks that were also amazing. At the end of our dinner we were inundated with incredible desserts even after saying that we could not eat any more food. We took what we could not eat back to our hotel and we had a wonderful treat for the next day. During our conversations with Lucia she explained how much they love supporting the local farmers, the local meat producers, the local people and also the community of Myanmar as a whole. After leaving Yangon my wife and I have talked about Seeds a lot, how wonderful the food was and how wonderful and giving Felix and Lucia are. We hope that everyone who visits Myanmar will include dining at Seeds during their visit for the great food that they serve, the great causes that they support and their love of everything that they do."

Inle Princess Resort: "Go on, splurge,on the lake villa!"

Review by: DreamingSydney | Source: Trip Advisor
"Immediately, the door opened and I was speechless, the huge windows made me feel like I was floating on the lake itself...simply stunning. The complimentary mini bar was a pleasant added touch as I sat back on my private balcony to watch the sunset. The room was immaculate and spacious. The bathroom complete with outdoor shower was clean and well equipped. The resort is in a secluded corner of the lake and you really did feel like you were far away from the hustle and bustle of the jetty town. The boats themselves must switch off their engines before approaching the resort which makes for a charming introduction to the brilliant foot steering of the local boatmen. Breakfast was made to order and the food generally was of a high standard. I loved seeing the two Burmese cats making themselves at home in this little piece of paradise. Inle Lake was really one of the highlights of my trip, in fact, I could have spent a few extra days here just enjoying the lake life. Trekking on the furthest reaches of the lake would be on my to do list when I return."

David’s Kitchen: "Excellent food, service and atmosphere."

Review by: Alexander P | Source: Trip Advisor
I was visiting Chiang Mai for a short weekend and read about this restaurant online. Reservations were made easily online and followed up by email. The restaurant was easy to find but location change across the river. The restaurant is beautiful inside with a very cozy atmosphere. There was a live piano during my dinner, which was nice. David personally came and greeted every table. He stayed by my table for a bit because I was alone and made me feel at home. The food was exquisite. I had a raw salmon appetizer, lobster bisque, and lamb chops - all of which I would recommend. David suggested a restaurant for lunch the following day and sent me a very detailed and warm thank you email the following morning. Thank you David!

The Hue House: "Foodie heaven"

Review by: Genxf | Source: Trip Advisor
"The Hue House, for us, was unforgettable. The food is incredibly fresh, imaginative and plentiful. The staff are attentive but unobtrusive. We shared several plates, all on the advice of management and could not have been more impressed. The mixed entree (my favorite) Banh thap cam was full of flavor and variety and so very fresh. The little dumplings stuffed with shrimp & pork, on top of the stuffed, fried dough were sublime. I say add Cuon diep, the BBQ'd spare ribs, to the list of must tries but really, everything we tried was delicious. Hue cuisine is steeped in tradition and we're wishing restauranteur Huy Tran all the best in this latest venture and please, please bring it to Australia."
