Chakrabongse Villas: "An oasis in a busy City"

Review by: Gordon2066 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"The villas are in the heart of the Royal 'precinct' in the old part of the city. Its a great location, close to the Royal Palace, the Siam Museum and the flower markets. However once inside the walls, it is very calm and very relaxing. The villa's have a very authentic old Thai feeling to them and it is a refreshing change from normal 5 star hotel rooms. There are a limited number of villas and this allows them to make each guest feel very special. We dined at our own table out beside the river each night. We loved it! The food is also excellent. Another aspect of the villas that make the experience different is the story behind the villas, and the links to the Royal family. It is another reason, this hotel is a refreshing change from the normal 5 star hotels. I would highly recommend the villas and I am looking forward to going back there next time we are in Bangkok"

David’s Kitchen: "Unforgettable first anniversary meal."

Review by: holidayaddictSurrey | Source: Trip Advisor
I don’t really know where to start with this review as so much has been said before but you really must treat yourself to David’s Kitchen. Not one detail has been overlooked, staff are impeccable, quality ingredients abound, presentation is exquisite. This is truly a unique dining experience. David is such a humble host, sharing the success of his restaurant with his charming wife Prom and the wonderful Thai chef, along with his attentive staff. It’s clear to see he has a passion to create a wonderful dining room with superb food and excellent service, this he manages with ease and charm, his reward is to see people from all over the world enjoying themselves. Thanks for a fantastic evening it was truly a great pleasure for us both.

Inle Princess Resort: "Outstanding – Beautiful, Atmospheric with Fantastic Service"

Review by: GautamMajumdar | Source: Trip Advisor
"Visiting Lake Inle is a unique experience, and this experience is doubly enhanced by staying at this splendid hotel. The approach itself is breathtaking, sitting on a boat being rowed by the boatman in the quaint one legged fashion peculiar to the region, you suddenly glimpse a vision in old teak rising out of the lake. The chalets are on stilts and the chalets we had were lake facing with simply incredible views. The rooms are beautifully furnished, a vision in old teak with old Burmese lacquer artifacts strewn about. The bathrooms were again fabulous, with a cosy outside shower. It was certainly pure luxury with splendid service in the middle of this area of outstanding beauty. The food was superb, we ate at the hotel's fine dining restaurant on both the nights we were there. Sitting out on the open terrace overlooking the water and sampling topnotch Burmese cuisine is an other wordly experience. The breakfast was also excellent. All of this was topped by the outstanding and sensitive service. When leaving the hotel plied us with little gifts of local handicrafts. I can't recommend this place highly enough. "

SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "A sanctuary of Yangon"

Review by: Pedro3584 | Source: Trip Advisor
If you seek a retreat from the hustles of busy Yangon, Seeds is definitely the place you have to go to. Not only the unique ambience and very friendly & professional staff convinces every visitor, it's the heart that Luzia and Felix invest into every single detail. The chef's creations are beyond wonderful in taste and decoration, Felix's truffle ravioli another heart melting surprise. Don't miss it and enjoy your meal :-)

The Island lodge: "Gorgeous retreat along the Mekong River; exceptional staff"

Review by: pjdeisinger | Source: Trip Advisor
Gorgeous retreat along the Mekong River. We stayed in one of the garden bungalows and had such a peaceful and lovely time after our frenetic few days in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel grounds are beautiful with wonderful landscaping of the lush, natural greenery. Breakfast is included and is taken in the open air lounge looking onto the pool and the river. The pool itself is beautiful with plenty of loungers and a good mix of sun and shade, and you can watch the Mekong River drift by as you enjoy a drink from the bar a few steps away. The staff at The Island Lodge really made the whole experience extra special - everyone was so kind and welcoming to my husband and I during our stay. Chau (the manager) was absolutely the best - she was so helpful and attentive to all of our requests, coordinating with her staff to ensure we were well taken care of the entire time. She gave us recommendations of local restaurants and some sightseeing places in My Tho, too, when we wanted to venture out, and helped arrange our transportation. The hotel is very secluded and a bit out of the way from the town and other attractions but for this kind of property I believe that is sort of the point. We chose to stay here for a few days between Ho Chi Minh and a river cruise leaving from Can Tho. I would highly recommend staying here if you plan to go to the Mekong Delta area (it’s worth a stay on its own, even if you DIDN’T already plan on coming to the area)!

Villa Song Saigon: "Beautiful Property and Elegant Rooms"

Review by: Revere | Source: Trip Advisor
"Villa Song is a boutique hotel situated in a quieter part of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) overlooking the Saigon River. We stayed in the Sanctuary Suite, which consisted of three rooms: a sitting area with a fully stocked mini bar, kettle for tea making, a Nespresso machine (unfortunately no decaf pods), and a small couch; a bedroom with a very comfortable bed and fine, soft sheets, and a very large balcony overlooking the outside dining area and the river; an enormous bathroom with two sinks, a shower, and a large soaking tub and a closet with a safe. The floors in the main rooms are a dark wood. Each room, the sitting area and bedroom, has its own air conditioner. The hotel itself is beautiful. It looks very unassuming when you first drive up and walk through the solarium like area to get into the lobby. Once you walk into the lobby you will realize that you've walked into a special place. The hotel is a combination of bright white ceilings and dark wood floors; there's outside and inside dining areas, a pool, a spa and a gym. It's not a large resort like property, it's small and intimate, but has everything you need. Others have mentioned the water shuttle, which we did not use because we had set up some private tours. Given the traffic in Saigon, we would have used it if we weren't touring. The staff is gracious and helpful. Our flight out of Ho Chi Minh City was very early in the morning, and the woman at the desk had the kitchen staff prepare a ""to-go"" breakfast for us. We were grateful for the thoughtfulness. We happened to be there on the weekend. On Saturday night, the property hosted a wedding. The hotel management offered to pay round trip cab fare if you wanted to dine off the property. We chose to order room service, sit on our balcony, and watch the wedding. But their offer for round trip cab fare is a good example of how customer service oriented the hotel is. Breakfast was included in our room charge. They offer the traditional American type breakfasts with eggs, French toast, pancakes etc, along with Asian fare. We ate dinner one night at the hotel; my braised beef ravioli (an appetizer I had as a main course) was very good and the pasta was homemade. I added a pea soup as a starter; the soup was puréed and came with chopped shrimp nestled on the top of the soup. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the water, which I'd recommend. (We were surprised that there were no bugs.) It was fun to sit out there under the palm trees watching the traffic on the river float by. Two drawbacks--there's no elevator, at least I didn't see one, which wasn't a problem for us, but it might be for people who have difficulty climbing stairs, beautiful dark wood staircases, mind you, but stairs nonetheless. (I think the hotel only has three floors.) And the property next door is a bit noisy with karaoke signing in the evening. Our tour guide told us that karaoke is very popular in Viet Nam. While it didn't last past ten p.m., and it's not something under Villa Song's control, it was loud at times. The hotel is expensive, and you get what you pay for--excellent service, elegant rooms, and a top-notch experience."

Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Amazing Brunch"

The Brunch was amazing! Great setting, delicious food and perfect service! It was our second time here on a Sunday. We met locals who come often, and we have learned why. The owner Khun Poy and his team were awesome!

Cabochon Hotel & Residence: "Easy and elegant hotel, lovely to return to after a day roaming Bangkok"

Review by: Valerie B | Source: tripadvisor.com
I like every thing about Cabochon, but mostly the serene and peaceful atmosphere. Despite the very obsessive attention to design details, the overall atmosphere is of ease and friendliness. The food at the restaurant is good. Breakfast is a bit cramped and the small buffet could/ should be improved - the fruit section in particular. One small thing this time the music in the public areas was rather loud, and we had to ask if it could be turned down a little. But these are details. I stay at Cabochon every time I go to Bangkok and I love it.
