Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A highlight of our trip"
"This is definitely a highlight of our trip! Upon arrival, reception greets you by name and it just gets better from there. There are only six cottages on property which allows them to make each stay an amazing experience. Each cottage has a terrace. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. You can (and we did) end up spending most of our time in ours. Beds are comfortable and rooms make you feel that you are staying somewhere special. The hotel is also a teaching school for aspiring hospitality students and they go over the top to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Part of the money you spend goes to supporting the students and local community. In Feb, it does get cold at night so in addition to bringing warm PJs, the staff leaves bed warmers during the turn down service. Nice touch. It can get a bit noisy - during the day, you hear motorboats going back and forth along the water highway and at night, there are chanting monks (at least during Feb for some festival). It didn't bother us but that seems to be the only thing people complained about on TA. There are ear plugs available if it does bother you. Internet is barely working and best time to try is early morning however this appears to be the norm for this area. All in all, a really enjoyable experience and absolutely recommended. Room Tip: Book the cooking class!"Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Serenity personified"
This was a beautiful experience of a tradition Hanok in the heart of Bukchon. The property is intimate and secluded, with only a few 'rooms' placed around a small central courtyard. Every detail carries style and has been carefully set out to create an escape to a simpler past. The underfloor heating made sleeping on the floor surprisingly comfortable. The service was unintrusive, helpful and gracious, breakfast and dinner served each day with Korean hospitality of generosity and flair. We loved everything about Rakkojae. The location so close to some great historic sites, galleries and design spaces was a bonus!Muang La Lodge: "A hidden paradise"
Wow. We are overwhelmed. A five star luxury hotel with highest quality of food and an outstanding service comparable with international top hotels. A natural and ecological paradise as a secret advice. Highly recommended and the most beautiful environment we ever enjoyed. Dreams come true!SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Full of Love"
"As their website states the husband and wife team that owns and operates this restaurant are full of love of everything and it shows in the food that they serve, the ambiance and comfort of the restaurant and the many good causes they support. When I emailed the restaurant to book a reservation here is the response that I received: ""Thank you so much for your reservation. We will set up a nice table for you on terrace. Thank you so much. With best regards, Lin Lin"". Right from the start I had no doubt that I had picked a great place to dine in Yangon. Felix is a Michelin Starred Chef who has worked in many restaurants in Europe and his wife and partner Lucia is a wonderful hostess and manager for the restaurant. Lucia came by our table several times during our dinner to visit with us and we had several amazing conversations with her about their history as husband and wife in the restaurant industry. We learned from Lucia that she and Felix decided that they wanted more than what Europe had to offer and traveled to Malaysia to open a restaurant there and then continued on to Myanmar where they found their dream location. The food that they serve at Seeds is absolutely outstanding, made from very fresh local ingredients and the servings are generous. Between each course we were provided with small snacks that were also amazing. At the end of our dinner we were inundated with incredible desserts even after saying that we could not eat any more food. We took what we could not eat back to our hotel and we had a wonderful treat for the next day. During our conversations with Lucia she explained how much they love supporting the local farmers, the local meat producers, the local people and also the community of Myanmar as a whole. After leaving Yangon my wife and I have talked about Seeds a lot, how wonderful the food was and how wonderful and giving Felix and Lucia are. We hope that everyone who visits Myanmar will include dining at Seeds during their visit for the great food that they serve, the great causes that they support and their love of everything that they do."Dewakan: "A concerto in your mouth"
Dewakan brings world-class fine dining to a restaurant in the middle of nowhere (in Glenmarie). Some may scoff at its high price, but think of it like paying for a concerto in your mouth. Dewakan takes Malaysian ingredients and local flavours and presents it in spectacular fashion. You will never think of Malaysian cuisine in the same way again after eating here. The service crew are all well-trained and better than a lot of so-called high-class establishments in KL. Well worth the drive deep into Glenmarie and well worth the price. Thanks, Chef Darren!Tugu Malang: "Fijn"
"Het is een groot hotel. Een groot deel wordt enkel gebruikt bij feestjes/evenementen. Leuk en mooi om eens door te lopen. Het hotel heeft een zwembad om even kort af te koelen. Geen zwembad om heel de dag aan te liggen. Eten is er prima. Zeer uitgebreide keuze menu's voor het ontbijt! Stayed March 2017, traveled solo"Le Passe-Temps: "Little French Paradise"
"During out stay in a close lodging we came here regularly for family lunch and dining by the beach in this little paradise. Very nice food clearly ahead of anything around with variety. Green curry - my benchmark - is very well cooked. Delicious Paneng and TKK. Warm and friendly service. Kids friendly - can spend hours chasing hermit crabs next to you without bothering. Beach and horizon view at high tide is the cliche you are looking for, quietly sipping your chilled Chardonnay while waiting for your starter of fresh spring rolls, feet in the sand and sound of waves in the ears. Also spent Xmas Dinner. Nice buffet in family spirit in a welcoming atmosphere. For those who: - look for a nice lunch/dinner in Krabi far from the crowd. - have a sense of elite and exclusivity without superfluous sophistication. - are not afraid of being surrounded by (quiet and not too vocal) French. - don't mind a slight communautarian skew - are OK to pay more to get more. Still overall very reasonable."Sanak Retreat Bali: "Moment de repos exceptionnel"
The Oriental Villa was perfect for our family of 4 (kids 10 and 8). Great location to explore the highlights of Bangkok. Dinner on the river was outstanding, and Ms. Atom reserved us a table at Sala Rattanakosin (within walking distance, also on the river) when their chef was off and it was equally memorable.Sukoon Houseboat: "Perfect choice for Dal Lake"
We planned to spend 4 nights on a houseboat on Lake Dal and spent much time reading TA reviews and reviews from other sites. We selected the Sukoon based on these reviews and the new construction as we feared older boats may have a musty and damp smell. After looking at so many other boats during our 5 days on Lake Dal we are sure we made the correct decision. The service was professional, the rooms as described -- new. clean and well appointed. The food was good and the meal service superb. Customer service was a high point. A real plus for the Sukoon was the location at the far end of the lake away from almost all houseboats. This is important as most boats are located in a chock-a-block fashion with little if any privacy. They arranged our tours and other needs. We would definitely choose the Sukoon when we return and return we will as Srinagar is a fabulous destination that deserves more the 5 days. Our only regret was not having arranged airport pick up ahead of time. The airport arrival area is chaotic to say the least due to security procedures and most taxi drivers had no idea where the Sukoon was located --- there are well over 500 houseboats on the lake so this would be expected.
