tugu bali: "The Secret Retreat!"
"This is our 2nd stay at Tugu. We enjoyed it so much we couldn't resist another stay. Although it is a little more expensive the Tugu ""offer"" is unique. You can lie in your own private space overlooking the sea without being annoyed by hawkers and just watch the surfers, or lie by the pool in privacy. The perfect getaway. We were fortunate enough to experience the cultural evening which presented us with 3 dances - so amazing and professional - a totally memorable experience. We used the hotel driver to take us to Seminyak on a couple of occasions - he was polite, courteous and perfect in every way. Thank you Tugu - your staff our amazing...well done Jenny. Good luck with the Living Wall construction, we look forward to seeing it in the future."Amata Lanna: "Hidden paradise"
"2 minutes walk from a charming river temple, this wonderful traditional thai-sytle hotel on two storeys is highly recommendable, to say the least. Set around a beautiful inner courtyard dominated by a large frangipani tree with star-shaped white flowers which fall from time to time into an oval swimming pool, you can sit and relax after a long day's sightseeing, contemplate the early morning over a delicious partially outdoor breakfast among huge ferns and thai garden ornaments, or sit and sip beer or free lemon-grass tea in the evening by the swimming pool with the trees lit up around you. The rooms, set around the courtyard, are spacious with 4-poster beds and thai furniture. If you want more light, go for the upper floor, but you are destined probably from all rooms to see the greenery from the windows. I thought the staff could have become my personal friends the way they were so personable. They had two bicycles that were for lending without charge and transport free to the airport in at least one direction. One night I got back very late and didn't want to go out on the dark streets alone, so I suggested getting a couple of mangoes to the night staff from the mango bowl in the reception area. Since they never charged me for this, the least I can do is write a review! To make one request for improvement I would ask for mosquito nets on at least one window in the hotel rooms so that you can enjoy the evening air in your own room in the cooler months without the risk of insects coming in. However, this is not probably a feature in many thai hotels, including all top hotels, as most people these days just want the air conditioning, which of course this hotel has."Sanak Retreat Bali: "Heaven!"
We visited as a family and had a wonderful time. The villas are super comfy as is the bedding! Food amazing...good wine list...wonderful staff...divine setting...what more could one ask for?Would most def visit again!Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A fab place to hang boots and watch the change of light across mountains…."
This is a truly wonderful place to arrive at after a week of trekking (with sometimes hilarious hospitality conditions!). Or indeed just to arrive at after the hurly burly of Kathmandu! Marcus oversees a superb hotel with glorious views, beautiful lodge-style rooms and simple home-cooking. It is with some reluctance that I left, and to my disappointment now back home, there is no thoughtfully placed hot water bottle in bed at the end of the day, or mosquito net drawn to envelop me and my dreams.Reverie Siam Pai: "Glad we stayed here!"
It was a great place to come back to from busy Pai. Just 5 mins from Main St by free shuttle service. Fabulous room with mountain views, private terrace. Loved the garden setting and pool areas. Excellent varied breakfast is made to order. We had pre-dinner drinks each evening but didn't have dinner there as it was Spanish-Italian food. Was hoping for upscale Thai. They also have a cute shop onsite but it was usually closed with no signage. Lovely staff. Wasn't crazy about a Pai but this hotel made our stay worthwhile.Sea Dance Resort: "Fabulous Resort……..can’t wait to go back!"
"Steve & I arrived early December to this amazing resort, for 8 nights, we chose a villa with its own pool which was simply amazing, unfortunately for us the rainy season was a little late leaving so our weather was a little mixed, however we believe 1 week later after we left left it was perfect weather. The restaurant in Resort was excellent all food can also be cooked to taste ie hot, mild etc. All the staff was very caring and thoughtful a special thank you to Faith, Helen Gai, John, & arh who took very good care of us during our stay. We stayed in Resort for most of our visit, however, you can take an open taxi to Fisherman’s Village which was our favourite place, but you could also go to a few beaches nearby. We have booked already to go back again. Once again thank you to all the staff at Sea Dance"The Cabochon Hotel: "Intimate and tranquil boutique hotel in perfect location"
"We loved the Cabochon hotel and it's warm and friendly staff. The hotel has only eight rooms and suites in a superbly decorated French colonnial style inspired building. Wooden doors, door handles, light switches, quirky collectors items, they all are perfectly curated to add to the colonial feel. Apperently the building itself is a new structure which I only found out by realising there's no way an older wooden building would be able to carry a huge swimmingpool like the luxurious rooftoppool of the Cabocho I read another reviewer mentioning the pool as a small one. I do not know in what hotels some people might stay but the Cabochon pool is in my opinion huge! It covers the entire roof of the hotel (20-25m pool?), and is perfectly fine to do some fine swimming exercises. Another great detail which I loved is that there is no reception desk like in a regular hotel, just a tiny 'office'. From the frontdoor you step into the hallway immediately which leads to the central staircase. This also adds to the homely feel of the Cabochon. Check in is in the lounge area/Joy luck club where also breakfast is being served. You can also have your breakfast on the veranda which is great. The staff we loved. They immediately made us feel at home, spoke english well and were really helpful. Furthermore the location can't be better, at the end of a short quiet soi (alley) that leads directly to Sukhumvit Road with two skytrain stations within a five minute walk. Yes, the regular rooms are not that big but for us it just did add to the intimate feel of our stay here. It felt very special our three nights over at the Cabochon, highly recommended."Manda De Laos: "Romantic dinner by the pond"
We stayed at Maison Dalabua (same property) and were lucky to get reservations the first night of our stay. Great food (Laotian with a French touch). Good cocktails and all at very moderate prices - maybe not for local standads (one can eat cheaper in town) but considering the quality of food very reasonably priced.Glenburn Tea Estate: "Lap of the Mighty Himalayas"
Tea Plantation Tour’ which makes “Darjeeling” world famous. This is which can make your ‘Tour Differently’ from the usual program in this region as you may visit one of the iconic tea garden called Glenburn Tea Estate. You will be experiencing the tea plantation & nature walk. ‘Eat Differently’ while you lunch with the local cuisines in the lap of the mighty Himalayas.Tugu Bali: "Nice hotel"
"The tugu bali hotel is well located in Canggu: near the beach, close to restaurants & bars and surf spots! The rooms and suites are fantastics as well as the the swimming pool and the spa. The garden near the beach is really pleasant. The staff is always smilling ! A great place to stay ! "
