Babe: "Awesome Creative Fine Dining"
We visited lasted week, Had a really enjoyable experience with the amazing view of the sky line and the creative play on Japanese dishes. The Village House: "An amazing place – absolultely beautiful and run by the loveliest people"
"The Village House is an easy and traffic-free 40-45 minute drive from Kuching at the foot of Mount Santubong. It's absolutely beautiful - it's clear the owners have put tremendous thought and effort into creating a relaxing little oasis, and they've accomplished as much. The grounds are beautiful - very green and very relaxing with a luxury, boutique-y feel - when you see it, you can't believe how little they charge to stay here! The rooms are immaculate with gorgeous four-poster beds and well thought-out décor. The hotel is really, really gorgeous, but the highlight is the service - they went WAY above and beyond anything I've ever experienced. We forgot a backpack, so the owner lent us one - and not only that, but very kindly stocked it with bug spray and band-aids for our climb up Santubong! Then, when we got a little stranded and couldn't get a taxi back, the hotel chef came to pick us up - couldn't believe how helpful they were. We did two activities while we were here (climbed Santubong and a day at Bako) and they organized everything for us at VERY reasonable prices. We spent no time at all making our own arrangements, which made the weekend super enjoyable and relaxing. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. We've been to the Kuching area three times and this is by far and away the best place we've stayed - and in all my travels, the best customer service I've ever received from a hotel! "Satri House: "Beautiful"
"When planning a visit to Luang Prabang you can get a little blown away by the accommodation on offer, there are many beautiful properties to consider all offering their own style. After much thought we plumped for here and stayed in a Satri House Suite. The original historic house in which we stayed was delightful. A lovely bathroom, huge bedroom with a very comfortable mattress and a separate sitting room area. The rest of the little complex of rooms are well set out in the grounds and not at all crowded, everything has been very tastefully done and to a ver high standard. The location is away from the main centre a little, a normal paced walk probably not more than 30mins to the far end of the town, we enjoyed walking into the centre, traffic is not a problem at all, and to be honest we appreciated the little district where the hotel is located, very pleasant streets around. We also used the complimentary bikes to have a little venture further to edges of town. A little Lao whiskey nightcap with a quick read of the local paper became a pleasant regular evening stop. Walking around town with a keen eye on the other places we considered, Villa Santi, Busari, 3 Nagas etc amongst many more we firmly decided we had made the right choice and not once did I have a regret of our choice. We did not eat a main meal here, but breakfast was more than adequate, the home jams delicious. If I had a tiny gripe it would be that the staff, which in every other way were delightful and really attentive could pay a little more attention to used towels around the pool, thats not much as the only grumble of any kind though. Beautiful place, I understand this is pretty much the main heritage hotel in the city, I am not surprised."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Peaceful trip away from the city"
"The resort arranged a car to pick us up at the airport, which took us on a long drive out of the city and into the woods. Afterwards, we still need to take another ride on a boat, that was waiting for us on the docks. Once we arrive at the resort and greeted with an extremely friendly service, we immediately felt charged up. We were told that there are a variety of activities that we could do, and the best thing is that there is no internet, cell phone reception and absolutely no wifi. It is the ultimate getaway tactic. They have a small reading room filled with books, dvds and board games that you can borrow though. Each tent has a tv and dvd player and strictly no AC. The food is fantastic, I typically like breakfast, where you can pick one of each selection on the menu (I did gain weight after this trip). Each and every one of the staff is amazing and helpful. We stayed there for a few days, so we are able to do plenty of activities. We went to a small fisherman village at Koh Srolao, saw Tatai waterfall and kayaking around the mangroves. Try kayaking near the resort, just on the back there is a hidden area that is so peaceful and quiet. Didn't go off the boat because a few staff warned us of leeches. Also tried fishing, but that didn't go so well, the current is too strong. It was a perfectly amazing trip. Away from emails, social medias, texts and other things that ""concerns"" us. Try staying a few days here, be in touch with nature and yourself, surrounded with nature, wonderful people and delicious food."RACHAMANKHA: "Quaint hotel"
"Beautiful hotel and room. Loved the design and the property overall. A magical place for sure. Please make the effort to book it if in Chiang Mai. Stayed only one night in a Grand Deluxe room but would have liked to stay for more. "Reverie Siam: "Clearly the best hotel in Pai"
We spent an incredibly relaxing 2 nights in a family room which had a gorgoeus view of the mountains. It was a weekend break from Bangkok and our 4 young kids. The room was spacious with lovely decor and furniture, lots of thought went into the decoration. In a land of hard beds, the king sized bed was by far 1 of the most comfortable. The location was ideal, next to the river and just far enough out of town so it was quiet but without the sounds of dogs or roosters. The lush landscaping was beautiful and made the setting even more private and serene. Also recommend the restaurant for ambiance, service and food quality. Service was 5 star, the staff were always helpful, welcoming and full of smiles. We soent a half day looking for a restaurant for lunch and thereby visiting many of the other hotels and was extremely happy that we chose the Reverie for our weekend getaway. I may consider bringing my kids next time although it has such a lovely serene atmosphere that i wouldn't want to disturb the zen of the resort.tugu malang: "Luxury and services are beyond expectation"
"I was there only for a day and wish to come back soon. The room was impecable, perfect with a touch of personal welcome in a card. Our room facing the front hotel but not noisy at all. The bedsheet was super clean and it was a standard five hotel services and facility. The amenities was not much but enough. Small pool but convenient enough for children. Good selection of breakfast with some a la carte menu. The hospitality is unbelievably super friendly. A typical warm small size five star hotel that you would never experience in a big busy hotel. This hotel was beautiful in a an outdated way, and you may find it quite spooky at the back part, but for some, it may be the point of attraction. "Dewakan: "Impressive modern Malaysian cuisine"
I had a dinner here on the christmas night. Impressive 10 course meal with additional snacks and dessert. It's a marathon dinner of almost 3 hours with variety of food items to try. Each dish is unique and burst of flavours. The chef uses local herbs and spices creatively in each meal. You will think that such a simple ingredient wouldn't be done it this way. Each meal is also an art by itself especially blue mackerel with raja ulam which the cured fish meat topped with edible flowers. Overall almost all the dishes were excellent except two which I don't quite like it. However, the food concept may not be for everyone. People who don't like the smell of ulam and spices may not like the overwhelming flavour of the dishes here. Also you also need to be patient and enjoying good time here of enduring 3 hours of eating session. The food here are even better than some of the Michelin star establishment. Dewakan does not serve ala-carte meal. They only have 3 or 4 course meal during lunch or 5 or 10 course during dinner. Price starts at MYR80.00 for 3 course lunch and the dinner of 10 course at MYR209.00. I would say for fine dining, the price is actually quite reasonable with total of 10 course.Anopura: "Absolute gem, far from the madding crowd!"
"Fabulously stylish place in the countryside outside of Jaipur. The staff were wonderful and felt like we were in our own private home. Dinner was delicious and was served candlelit in the pool house overlooking the beautiful pool and gardens. But shush don't tell anyone or it may be fully booked next time we want to go!"Rachamankha: "Highly Recommended"
Very lovely and well run small boutique hotel. Enjoyable breakfast, comfortable pool and well located within old Chiangmai. Also, we had an online Agoda rate that made the quality/value ratio excellent ($160 all in).
