Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Perfect desert island"

Review by: Ruth K | Source: Trip Advisor
Heavenly escape. Stunning empty beaches and classy set up. Individual beach houses with a central clubhouse which served up delicious and sophisticated menu with a limited but daily changing menu. This is not for folk who like to dress up for dinner in their best clothes. But perfect for anyone looking for a trendy but very relaxed vibe. Each beach hut is owned by individuals so each one different. Huts on beach are lovely. Sea lulls you to sleep.Everything was gorgeous but in an understated way. Travelling with husband and two young adult kids and we all loved it. Spa good and bar had a pool table. Nothing much to do - no shopping or places to go. Just beach, snorkelling, market trips, a boat, yoga and total unwind. Great staff. Perfect if quiet and peaceful is what you're looking for.

Cuca: "World Class Dining with Exquisite Local Ingredients and Flavor!"

Review by: Jeff-Rachel | Source: Trip Advisor
"We arrived at the restaurant and welcomed by the vast green front yard. It was a beautiful open yard with tall coconut trees and definitely best spot to host an intimate dinner party. We made booking by phone just couple hours before and happy to find table since we heard it's usually full booked. The menu is served ala tapas, and most of them are very enticing just by reading the name and the ingredients. We decided to go with the Chef's Tasting Menu - which is a 9 dish course handpicked by Chef Kevin Cherkas as the best representative of Cuca's flavor. This was the best decision as first timer here! In the beginning of the course, we were given a cotton candy like with savory taste, served in a pretty ceramic pink paper bag. Here are the 9 dishes: 1. Cuban Corn 2. Roasted Pork Buns* 3. Smoked Butterfish - since I am pregnant and could not eat smoked fish, they happily replaced this with other menu, we chose Fried Chicken 4. Honey Baked Pumpkin Salad* 5. BBQ Octopus* 6. Rice Tempura Soft Shell Crab 7. Meat & Potatoes* 8. Bali Breakfast 9. Cocoa 99 The starred ones are our favorites with Meat & Potatoes the highlight of them all. The potatoes are so silky smooth with such flavorful beef short ribs underneath, definitely a winner. Overall, this was a wholesome dining experience, and to find it in Jimbaran, Bali was just exciting. We could easily compare the experience with those we had in Scandinavia, truly exquisite. The great thing about Cuca is also they use only ingredients from Indonesia! Chef Kevin Cherkas personally dropped by at each table to converse with guest and wow, we even got a great recommendation of Suckling Pig Rebo in Jimbaran that we haven't been before. (And it was really good!) Thank you Chef! Cuca is about to open in Jakarta by 2018, we'll be patiently waiting :) "

David’s Kitchen: "In a league of its own"

Review by: Flyakiwi | Source: Trip Advisor
"My title says all! I simply cannot speak highly enough of David's Kitchen, this is a MUST do in Chiang Mai. My partner and I ordered the set menu to celebrate my 30th birthday. This allowed us to try Davids most signature dishes and we weren't disappointed!! The food, service and personal touches were absolutely splendid. Many reviews note their personal experience with David, and yes this is fabulous but I would also like to mention the amazing unity the entire team have to ensure your experience is like none other. I only wish there were most restaurants like this in the world!"

Satri House: "Wonderfully peaceful boutique hotel"

Review by: Millie M | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Had a wonderful time at Satri house in late August for the first few days of our honeymoon. The whole hotel is full of the most fascinating antiques and curios, and is really beautifully designed. We stayed up in the Satri House suite, in the building where the prince of Laos used to sleep! The suite was so beautiful, and had a view over the serene swimming pool. If you are a fan of vintage and mid-century antiques, you will love it! Whilst staying at Satri House (due to it being the raining season) there were no other guests, so we were treated to the experience of staying in our 'own private mansion' with all of the fabulous and incredibly helpful staff there to cater for our every need. Just perfect! No matter the time of day or how late we had been out, we always returned to the hotel to find 4 people at the front desk ready to help us, and two behind the pool side bar, just in case we fancied ordering a drink! The food deserves special mention too. Dinner on the first night was delicious - lots of carefully crafted local specialities with 5* presentation. Although the hotel is set away from the main part of town, it's still within walking distance or a very easy 2 minute tuk tuk ride. We preferred being slightly further out as the peace and quiet was exactly what we wanted at the end of the day. "

Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Beautiful food, good service, nice setting"

Review by: donandkeo | Source: Trip Advisor
"We went for dinner, arriving just after opening time, with no reservation. We were lucky and got a table, but virtually all the other tables were reserved! The setting was simple but very comfortable. The service was excellent. We were very impressed by each of the dishes which had strong Thai flavors fused with Western themes. There was an excellent wine list at reasonable prices. An excellent restaurant."

Tugu Bali: "tranquil, beautiful hotel with impeccable service"

Review by: ningaloo | Source: Trip Advisor
Absolutely loved this hotel. So well looked after by the gorgeous staff. Fabulous food with breakfast served anywhere anytime in your choice of private enclaves around the hotel. It was a peaceful & beautifully appointed hotel that has tons of Indonesian charm - stunning gardens & antiques. Husband & son were happy to go out surfing, but I didn't want to leave the tranquility of Tugu.

We always stay in Tugu Hotel overtime we visit Bali, Lombok, and Malang. Its belong to an amazing indonesian family who had done so much to make this place super special, the history, the art, the decoration, the management , the food and love. we feel like home overtime we are back to this place, as they always remember you and makes you feel so comfortable without feeling odd. the pick us up with the best driver who provided us with baby seater, fruits and water in the car. every details is manners in Tugu. Its in-front of the black sandy beach where they provide, sunbathing chairs, and bed with umbrellas and towels , security always there to help. at night its so beautiful with the lights , candles, and good food/drinks. If you ever visit Jakarta you have to go to their amazing restaurant Lara Djongrang, and some others. We thanks Lucien and entire family and crew for your hospitality and we are the biggest fans of Tugu. highly recommended.
