Tugu Bali: "Amazing! Best Hotel and the original hotel in canggu"
"Wow what a place this hotel is very very special... the rooms are incredible! The whole hotel is like a Indonesian museum, it's got some amazing artefacts and antique furnishings throughout the whole place, the owner is the largest collector of Indonesian artefacts and antiques in the world, its such a special place to just walk around... part of the restaurant is made out of a 300 year old beautifully carved family temple that was saved by the founder of Tugu hotels dismantled then shipped to Tugu Canggu where it was restricted and became the interior of one of their fabulous restaurants within the hotel... the hotel is as much a museum as it is a hotel... We stayed in the rejang suite which has a awesome bath and views over the sea... the bed is one of the comfiest beds I've slept in I love the pillows, they equal the standard of the four seasons or ritz Carlton bedding... basically it's more than comfortable!! :) We loved the grounds which are all beautifully kept as is the Lilly ponds and there's large beautiful fish swimming through the little rivers that run throughout the hotel grounds... it’s very calming and peaceful environment. The staff were all so kind and friendly we were given a full tour of the hotel and showed around all of the Indonesian artefacts and antiques that the owner of Tugu hotels has tirelessly collected over years... there’s some really amazing things here if your into your culture and history this is a really special treat! The JI restaurant has some awesome sushi we had a evening snack and then came back lunch the next day as the sushi is just amazing! On our 2nd night we attended their cultural evening and had dinner in front of the whole performance it was amazing, the show was beautifully performed and the food was to die for! Cocktails are pretty decent too!! We had a fantastic two days at the Tugu hotel and were really taken back by the beauty of this hotel it’s just really stunning! I you want something unique and special but also luxurious then Tugu Canggu is your best bet! Thanks to everyone who made our stay so special at Tugu Hotel! "We started our journey in lovely Ladakh from Nimmu House. It was a perfect start. We received a very warm welcome followed by 2 days of comfort and lot of personal attention. The apricot and apple trees were in bloom and we were allowed to pick as and when! It is a great eco friendly retreat from busy city life. Chef Mahesh cooked superb meals which were served in the courtyard in open air as weather was lovely. Sumo is a wonderful lady who is an extremely helpful and pleasant person. Overall a very satisfying stay. Would recommend definitely. Free Wifi is available but in certain areas only., We started our journey to explore Ladakh with Shanti travels. They were brilliant right from pick up from delhi airport till the drop off 10 days later. I would also like to mention guide Wanchuk and Rigzin-driver; they were superb throughout our time in Ladakh."Sukoon Houseboat: "Can wait to go back again!"
"I stayed in this beautiful houseboat for 3 nights with my mother. We had the most wonderful time here. + The staffs are very good. They all made sure we have a comfortable stay. Thank you Bashir, Ashiq, Rasheed, Passang & Bela. + The view from the sun deck and the front area is breath taking + The food is yummy. Not spicy and not with too much masala + The rooms are clean and bathroom is big + We had an opportunity to meet the owner of Sukoon. He is such a fine gentleman. It was a pleasure meeting him - The bed is a bit too soft. I realized it only on my last day when I woke up with a stiff back but I guess if you inform them they will take care of it. - wifi is a bit slow but then who needs a wifi if the view is mind blowing We shall be back again very soon with our entire family."Villa Song Saigon: "Compact Asian Luxury.. Absolutely fantastic hotel"
"We booked the same day we were to arrive given our initial hesitation to have Vietnam as destination for our long weekend escapade. We were amazed at the efficiency by which we were accommodated. The suites were booked for the night but a smaller room was instead alloted for us. It was topnotch from the pristine furnitures and fixtures to the vibrant yet impressively balanced art works. The following day we were transferred to the freed up art villa suite with an astonishing den overlooking the saigon river. The breakfast was eat all you can ala carte and the boutique hotel again exceeded our expectations. Personally this is where we had our best ever coffee experience and you can feel there was passion behind the creation of the food they serve. The hotel helped us book with the river sunset cruise. With the weather getting in the way of seeing the sunset, our guide ""Luke"" took us instead to the floating Pagoda and to a coconut drop off point where we had fresh young coconut juice that tastes even more heavenly than the ones we have in our very own beloved Philippines. This was the highlight of the vietnamese cultural education aspect of our trip having been immersed with our superbly fluent local guide who's versed with of course the country's current issues and its vibrant history. The attentive hot staff were promptly alert and each was attentively catering to our every tiny need. If you're after a compact yet very privately intimate vietnamese atmosphere fused with a strong french structural vibe, then you'd certainly feel like you struck gold with Villa Song. It heartfully made our vietnam trip an unforgettable success."David’s Kitchen: "Simply The Best in Chiang Mai"
"Its difficult to add to the already outstanding reviews of this restaurant. But I shall try: David has obviously devoted his life to this project and it is for him a lot more than a business. The menu has so many interesting, original dishes that it took us a while to even make a choice. Everything we chose was cooked to perfection, including the prawn ravioli in lobster sauce and the gnocchi with mushroom cream. Ultimately, what makes any restaurant special is not just the food but the entire experience; the ambience (smart but refreshingly relaxed), decor, staff attitude, efficiency, etc.. This is where David's kitchen excels because the attention to detail is apparent in every aspect. His passion for this restaurant is infectious. You can feel it when you chat to him, on the radiant faces of his staff and in the excellent reviews written by numerous customers. The prices are higher than average for Chiang Mai but this establishment is unique in this city and represents excellent value. A restaurant of this calibre would cost much more in Europe or the US. My daughter chose to celebrate her 18th birthday here. Thank you to David and his team for making it such a memorable evening for us. Highly recommended without hesitation."Villa Song Saigon: "A fabulous oasis in this noisy city"
"Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City to be PC) is a large, noisy, chaotic city. It was a relief, therefore, to find our accommodation was away from the madness, right on the river and the general ambience of the hotel reflected its location. Fabulous food and cocktails, a lovely setting, a stunning pool, very friendly staff... all in all I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in Vietnam. Stayed November 2016, traveled with friends"Maduzi Hotel: "Return to Maduzi"
"I had twice before stayed at Maduzi although some years before and found each stay most excellent. This stay, with friends, was also exceptional. Maduzi is located in downtown Bangkok right near the Skyway and a short walk to Centre Point shopping mall; the Paragon complex is but four Skyway stops away. Breakfast is included, and the choices are unique; I cannot understand anyone finding fault with the variety or quality offered, and breakfast was a pleasure. Maduzi is a truly unique (yep, that word can be used again and again), boutique hotel, a retreat in downtown Bangkok in beautiful surroundings and rooms with service that can satisfy almost all. My wife and friends thoroughly enjoyed their stay as I did. Room Tip: Upper floors are probably best because the roar of Bangkok traffic almost defied sound-proofing."SUMMERTIME VILLA: "Blissfully chilled"
We absolutely loved Summertime and cannot wait to go back. The owners have spent a lifetime delivering amazing holiday experiences in India and it feels like they poured all their learning and experience into creating and running this idyllic house.Supanniga Eating Room: "A regular comfort place"
It has become my to-go place whenever I have foreigners from abroad and when I wish to indulge in some traditional Thai fares. I never get bored of this place and I am always proud to present. Food is excellent, taste is amazing, service impeccable and great cocktails! Never hesitate or doubt whenever I recommend my friends... Truly an address to be proud of in Bangkok! Kudos Suppaniga team!Yandabo Home: "Way beyond expectations"
"Yandabo is probably best known for the Treaty signed in 1826 which ended the first Anglo Burmese War as well as its famous clay pottery made in an old traditional way from river clay. Yandabo Home is an excellent stop on the ferry journey from Bagan to Mandalay or vice versa. We stayed two nights into Christmas and had a most enjoyable stay. The ""resort"" consists of 12 spacious rooms with all mod cons. Teak floors, painted grey and cream walls and an excellent bathroom consisting of a large walk in shower, double sinks, a large bed and plenty of space. There is a safe and mini-bar but no TV or WiFi. All the rooms are on the upper decking and the dining area is lower down. Food was surprisingly good and we had the Christmas Eve menu on our second night. This was very good and the kitchen had gone to a lot of trouble to prepare this and with plenty of drinks too! We were very fortunate to meet the owner, Dr Aung Myat Kyaw, a charming man and found out that Yandabo Home is actually part of a number of hotels owned including three in Ngapali Beach as well as one of the cruise boat companies plying the river. The village itself is interesting and there is plenty to see sitting back watching the river and birdlife. Highly recommended."
