Zhiwa Ling: "Beautiful hotel in Paro, Bhutan"

Review by: Michael J | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a beautiful hotel in the magical and serene Paro valley in Bhutan, a place as faraway as one can imagine and more than a bit like the fictional Shangri La. Constructed in the architectural style of the country, it is a gorgeous property, with lots of open space. Rooms are located in about eight separate buildings, four to six rooms per building, all with balconies facing the nearby river. Our room was spacious and very nicely decorated; it included separate tub and shower, comfortable king size bed, balcony seating area and more than ample closet space. The fitness center is reasonably well equipped and situated in a large, attractive space adjacent to a large indoor swimming pool. The lobby and public meeting spaces are distinctively and comfortably furnished and decorated in the local style. The staff is as gracious and anxious to please as one can find in a hotel anywhere. This is a top tier hotel by any standard.

David’s Kitchen: "Excellent Birthday Dinner in Chiang Mai"

Review by: Brian C | Source: Trip Advisor
"My girlfriend, Allie, and I went to David's kitchen to celebrate her birthday. We wanted to go somewhere very nice and make the night special and David's Kitchen was an obvious choice from all of the 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor. When we pulled up to the restaurant we were immediately greeted and escorted in. Every employee we passed on the way in wished Allie a happy birthday. When we sat down, there was a happy birthday card and a named place card for us. The service was absolutely amazing. I did not feel like the waiters were hovering in anyway but as soon as I needed something, someone was there to help. David himself made rounds around the restaurant and had private conversations with each of the guests. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with him and hearing his stories and he even gave us recommendations for restaurants and activities in other countries that we were going to visit on our trip. We got the highly recommended pumpkin soup and it was out of this world! Really do try it if you go to David's! We both got the braised beefs cheeks and it was melt in your mouth tender. I think I would get something different if I went again but it was still a very good dish. Finally, for dessert we got a delicious chocolate lava cake and the employees came out to sing Allie Happy Birthday. It was a great night and was made very special by David and his staff. Absolutely worth the price. (Book reservations early because they go fast!)"

Review by: Ben-Indo | Source: Trip Advisor
Everything was perfect, always smiling and helpful staff, infinity pool overlooking the rice fields, the breakfast very good and plentiful, the rooms beautifully decorated and arranged are very comfortable, fast WiFi throughout the hotel. Some rooms offer views breathtaking of rice fields, a beautiful sight to wake up! The hotel is quiet and intimate. This is a no-fault you can go for it.

Jing’s Residence: "Fantastic"

Review by: Alex C | Source: Trip Advisor
I traveled in China for one month to take my four adopted Chinese daughters back to see their place of birth. The trip was fantastic and we stayed in a variety of large and small hotels, but always the best available for the area (i.e. Peninsula in Shanghai and Hong Kong, which were great). Jing's place was the best small hotel by far. They received us very warmly and accommodated our early morning arrival finding us rooms even though check in wasn't until the afternoon. It's a beautiful small hotel with very friendly staff and a decent restaurant, also perfectly located in middle of old Pingyao. Imam, the manager was super, and tended to all our needs. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in Pingyao. They also have a nice spa!

Misool Eco Resort: "Very special place"

Review by: Rosannad6 | Source: tripadvisor.com
Just spent 9 days diving at MER. It is a bit of a trek to get to but well worth it. Don't hesitate to go. It is an extremely special place. Apart from the lovely friendly staff, great food and relaxing accommodation all made from recycled wood, the conservation work they are doing is extremely special. Make sure to attend the presentations in the Dive Centre on Mantas and the building of Misool Eco Resort, very interesting. We had great vis most of the time. The highlight had to be Magic Mountain where we had a magical encounter with 6 mantas who stayed around the whole dive and performed for us. Other favourite dives included Nudi Rock, Fiabacet and Wedding Cake. (...) A special thanks to the managers, Sue and Mark who's hospitality and personal service was wonderful. What enjoyable evenings we had chatting with them and the other great guests we shared the island with that week. We also had the honor of being the first guests in their new coffee shop which is located in front of Sorong airport. It is sure to be a great success. Tastefully done and makes a great departure lounge. The MER staff went and checked us in while we sipped coffee and browsed for last minute memorabilia. Then, half hour before the flight we were transported to the airport and walked straight through and onto our plane.

Tugu Lombok: "One of the best resorts I have stayed in"

Review by: Tom G | Source: Trip Advisor
"If there is nothing negative to say about a place it must have been a great stay. Absolutely everything was perfect! The way we were welcomed, the amazing room, the privacy, the open air bathroom, the postcard white sand beach, the fantastic staff, the good food, the organized waterfall tour, our private driver, the Spa treatment and all the other hotel facilities. Our room number was 107 and it was the first room next to the main swimming pool. Only a green lawn separates the beach from the back garden where we had our own private swimming pool. The room was so big it feels like staying in an old castle and had one of the biggest beds I have ever slept in. The 6m high ceiling, some great pieces of art, a sofa, a huge desk, a seating area and a majestic 3m high mirror where some other interior highlights. The bathroom is integrated in the garden where there was a big fishpond. Shower and bathtub our outside surrounded by nature. The Wi-Fi throughout the resort is surprisingly really good. Signal and speed were but fantastic and one of the best I have experienced in Indonesia. The hotel complex is huge and it is lovely to wander around. Everywhere you will find pieces of art and other things of interest. Every time you go around you will discover another lovely spot. There is another massive pool, unfortunately I only had time to take a look at it the morning we left. Seriously this is one of the best resorts I have ever stayed in! The hotel organised a perfect private tour for us to the best waterfalls in Lombok. Our driver was lovely and let the us free in wherever we wanted to go. It was completely tailored to our wishes. We scheduled a massage at the resort, but because we loved the tour so much we were 3h late. That was no issue and as soon as we arrived the staff organized the massage for us. The spa treatment was absolutely lovely and definitely I would definitely recommend it. All perfectly planned! For sunset we walked around in low tide and search for tiny marine life. There is so much you can find in the 20cm deep water: nudiebranch, starfish, spanish dancer, crabs, little shrimps, etc. The staff brought us water shoes and helped us finding funny marine life. There is a raft out in the sea, it seems far, but is pretty close and snorkelling around is fun. The hotel also offers a canoe and a SUP board free of charge. Absolutely great experiences, thank you all! I wish I remembered the names of the staff to thank them personally. Our boat from Bali arrived at a pier only 9km from the resort and a normal meter taxi was only $2. The hotel did not have a complimentary pick up/drop off. For such a low-fare it would have been a nice service if this would be complimentary. Would have saved a lot of hassle. The only thing I can come up with is that the prices of food and beverages in the resort are somehow a bit outrageous compared to the standard prices in Indonesia, but luxury has its price so somehow it’s understandable. It seems that there is not much around the resort but I did not really do an effort finding something else as we were treated like royals by the fabulous staff."

tugu bali: "Secret pearl"

Review by: Jelle H | Source: tripadvisor.com
"It was the second time in 3 years that we stayed in this lovely boutique hotel. The dedicated staff takes 24 hrs. care about you and you are not a ""number"" in this hotel. The food served is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed. We will absolutely come back in this ""secret pearl"" when we will visit Bali again."

The Island Lodge: "Lovely Place to stay"

Review by: Alan H | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed 2 nights at the Island Lodge during our tour of Cambodia and Vietnam, and my wife and I loved it. Away from the hustle and Bustle of HCMC , The Island Lodge is a peaceful oasis and I cant recommend them highly enough. We stayed in a Garden View room , the attention to detail all over the resort is exceptional, and the staff with a special mention to Aime'e are a delight nothing is too much trouble. So if you fancy a relaxing break while visiting some of the hectic cities of Vietnam , do yourselves a favour and check out the Island Lodge you wont be disappointed."

Tugu Malang: "An utterly awesome delight!"

Review by: KJA3 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I spent 2 nights at the Hotel Tugu Malang in late May. I readily admit that I am not accustomed to luxury, and I won’t say whether any of you who are would find the Hotel Tugu Malang to be so, but I was delighted by my experience at this hotel, which I found utterly awesome! The bowl of fresh, peelable fruit – replenished each day and complete with a finger bowl holding water and a freshly cut blossom -- was just one sign that I was in a very, very nice hotel. ☺ My room was lovely and was delightfully furnished. Hot water was plentiful and the water pressure was excellent; my mini-fridge was nicely stocked, as was the tray with an electric kettle and French press; there were even washclothes among the many toiletries in the bathroom, which had lots of counter space, a bath with shower, and a window (with blind and drapes) into the bedroom. And if my balcony was tiny, it was still large enough to offer a small seating area and lovely view over the hotel’s pool area. It wasn’t just the room that wowwed me: The daily high tea held an impressive range of treats served in a delightful setting. The hotel’s spa offered a free 15-minute introductory massage. The breakfast (included in my rate) was generous and delicious. The restaurant offered dinners in several different cuisines and even had a decent selection of wines (if at prices reflecting the rareness of wine in Java). The hotel holds some remarkable artifacts, which can be seen on a tour of the property. And last, but certainly not least, the staff provided exceptional service – kudos one and all! My only very small niggle: The pool is not well separated from the restaurant, so I felt simultaneously “on display” and disruptive when I took a dip while diners were enjoying their meals. Just a small thing...."
