LEOPARD SAFARIS-WILPATTU: "Great three days spent in Wilpattu"
"Having been on a couple of days leopard safari in Yala a few years ago...I was keen to revisit but this time away from the crowds. So we chose to go to Wilpattu. Unfortunately (and out of Leopard Safaris control) the government now don't allow camping in the national parks...so wasn't quite as special...however, still an excellent experience. We were very well looked after by Pilla and his team. The food was excellent, the tent and facilities were good and we had some good sightings. We had some great days spent in the park and saw leopard twice (once hidden and one excellent sighting), sloth bear, elephant and the usual suspects...great bird life. Thanks to the team for making our stay a memorable one and for Pilla's endurance to see leopard! "YL Residence No.17: "Our wedding venue"
"This was our wedding venue for over 100 people last weekend. Pros: gorgeous location, good lawn to hold ceremony or reception, club house is big enough for contingency plan for 100 pax, good dance floor area and the rooms are lovely. You can sit out on the coconut lawn with your guests staying at the venue (we booked the whole place out over the weekend), it's very relaxing and the staff try their best to cater for your needs. Cons: communication leading up to and on the day of the wedding could be better. A few things went wrong (which had previously been discussed and agreed over emails and after a personal site visit made last August) such as glasses weren't pre filled for the first toast at our dinner, wine wasn't on the tables for guests to help themselves, the projector and audio during speeches broke and the team were very quick to jump in straight after dinner and clear everything out. The night before the wedding a unknown man came into my room at 4 am which was a bit odd - lucky I was in there to ward off any unwanted guests! The day after the wedding (Sunday) I was disappointed to see they had endorsed the next wedding structure to be set up right on the main lawn - we were checking out on the Monday and had just finished our farewell brunch so couldn't use the lawn even though we had booked all the rooms and paid ""location premium"" for exclusive use of the grounds. So it felt a bit sausage factory like - clearly it's a very popular venue! Overall I'd say it was a great wedding, very expensive but stunning location - you'll have to be patient with the emails and be prepared to invest a lot of time in going back and forth organising various members the YL Team and thinking of things that may be obvious - such as clearing the rubbish off the beach that YL overlooks."Tugu Malang: "Geweldig hotel"
"Wat een prachtig sfeervol hotel met veel antieke beelden en meubelen. Is eigenlijk ook soort museum. Heerlijk gegeten in 't restaurant aan het zwembad met tropische beplanting. Grote sfeervolle kamer, koloniale stijl. Heerlijke massage gehad. Goed gelegen."The Hue House: "Beautiful view and great food"
Would 100% recommend going here! You get a great view of the city, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is great got the Nam Neung and had a couple of cocktails. The staff are great. Talked to dickey who made our first day in Ho Chi Minh amazing!Reverie Siam: "Beautiful resort – great place to stay"
I can't recommend Reverie Siam enough! Set in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of town, Reverie Siam is a relaxing and peaceful retreat. It offers beautiful and comfortable rooms with ensuites (including a deep bath tub), two pools, a restaurant, a free shuttle service into town (including providing a mobile to call them for pick-up), free wifi, and complementary breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again!Amata Lanna: "Beautiful small hotel"
"I visited Thailand September 2016. I am behind finishing my reviews, but I enjoyed this hotel so much I wanted to make sure I shared my experience with others. The hotel is small, yet beautifully decorated, clean and vey comfortable. The staff was awesome- very friendly and accommodating, making good suggestions and helping arrange local travel when needed. Enjoyed breakfast in the atrium and the small dining area upstairs. We stayed here for 3 nights, and it was easy to get around the town either on foot or via taxi. There were restaurants within walking distance, and we were able to walk to one of the night markets. Great visit and would definitely stay here again. "A little gem! We loved it all: - the delightful staff, so professional, skilled and nice, will stay in our memories forever! We felt like home and all the staff deserve a LOT of credit for their hard & generous work everyday there and all the small attentions they craft everyday!! (reception, restaurant, housekeeping... all of them) - the incredible surroundings on the lake of course - the beautiful rooms, decorated with taste - the excellent restaurant - the center itself where you can walk above water, see burmese cats, an aquarium, learn how to cook, see students learning about hostellery with a free education... This hotel was the most authentic, friendly, and simple luxury experience of our whole trip in Myanmar. So happy to have spent time there and spent money for such a beautiful center & project. Thank you!! PS: if we had to mention potential drawbacks for some guests: - just be sure to know it's a small, intimate resort with no infrastructure like pool or spa (we were fine with it). - and it's in the middle of the lake so noise from the motor boats (but it's worth it!! Stayed August 2016, traveled as a couple"REVERIE SIAM: "A wonderful escape"
"We stayed 2 nights in the family villa and absolutely loved it. The thought and style put into the room was obvious from the cool little pieces or art to the location of plenty of power points and towel racks. Staff was fantastic and the included breakfast far exceeded our expectations. Also the little things, like a cell phone for our use while in town and the free shuttle service from the property to town were greatly appreciated and showed us a new level of customer service. We stayed during low season so the rate was very reasonable, if you can afford it, the value for money here is as good as I've ever had! "David’s Kitchen: "Incredible and delicious"
I cannot say enough good things about this restsurant. Everything was perfect from greeting us at the door to the food to the service. We had a double birthday so we went and everyone wished us Happy Birthday, Mr David came to greet and speak to us as he knew we live in Chiang Mai, the food was to die for (definitely order the pumkin soup for starter) and everything was on point. Lovely piano music as well.
