The Cabochon Hotel: "Hidden gem in busy Sukhumvit"
For a drink, a dinner or to stay few nights. Secluded colonial house very well decorated with a mix of Asian and European antics. Lovely feeling to be out of time in the middle of Sukhumvit. Drinks and food are great.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Place to relax"
"We went there in Aug . We arrived early and the staff was very accomodative..they gave us room at 7 in the morning.Rooms are clean and have partially open baths, wooden floor and furniture give a elegant look. You can always walk down to beach, though not as good/clean when compared to others in kerala. They have a very good pool with great view of sea.Food is ok ,the chef is always ready for ur wishes. To sum up a good place to detox and relax and spend quality time with family."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Silently Beautiful"
"Where to start?? I was very happy and fulfilled with my stay at Neeleshwar Hermitage. A 2.5 hour drive from Mangalore airport. They organize pick up for you offering a cold ice towel which is much needed after few hours of flight. Also, there is fresh fruit in the car to help you get through the drive. Staff: The staff is what impressed me the most about Neeleshwar Hermitage. The service staff are insanely courteous and sincerely caring about providing the utmost in hospitality. Chef Anish and Chef Deepak prepare wonderful dishes that are full flavored with local spices bringing the taste of India directly to your senses. The fact that I want to name every single department and staff member who left an impression on me should illustrate how amazing I thought the service at Neeleshwar was. Why I recommend you go: -The place has a weird way of making you forget yourself and focus on everything around you making you wonder all sorts of things. -It's beautiful. Beach tables where you're eating deliciously seasoned fresh fish listening to the sounds of the Arabian Sea taking small glances up at the sky to view the stars. -Mediation and yoga are classical bringing you back to a simpler frame of mind. It's like Mr. Anil takes the beauty of the resort and channels it within you. -Ayurveda aims to balance your mind, body, and soul. They don't only sell it, Neeleshwar Hermitage embodies it. There is direct communication between the restaurant, the spa, the mediation and yoga instructor, and the management of the hotel. This is to ensure that all aspects of you are getting the best for your mind, body, and soul. This communication made you feel that the whole place had your best interests at heart. -Ranipuram Trek. Went to the highest point 1050m above sea level and it was stunning. A moderately difficult climb but well worth it. Not for the lazy. -Some of the freshest fruit you'll ever have. I drank a fresh glass of orange juice and couldn't believe how sweet it was. -They literally climb the trees to get you coconut water. Can't get better or fresher than that !! -STAFF once again was amazing! Overall, the place is great. It all depends though on what you're looking for. There are things to do but ultimately it's just a place to getaway from the world and focus on yourself. And they do everything they can so you don't have to worry about anything but you."The River Resort: "Luxury by the Mighty Mekong"
We three seniors had two goals for this four day layover. One was a good rest after a busy two weeks. The second was to see sunset over the Mekong. We got our rest with fully appointed rooms with balconies overlooking the river, two infinity pools, seating under the trees for Happy Hour and a wonderful menu. Breakfast is included and it is excellent. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. All arrangements were made for our four events, to Wat Phou, aromatherapy massages (with muscle), the sunset cruise, and a walk through the villages and temples on the island across the way in the cool of the morning. There were several families with young children, and other seniors enjoying being pampered, like us. This place is perfect for those two demographics.Glenburn Tea Estate: "A hidden gem not to be missed!"
A stay at the Glenburn tea estate is a truly unforgettable experience and we loved every minute of it. Whichever way you look from the delightful gardens or from either of the beautiful bungalows there is a wonderful vista, even when the mountains are shrouded in mist. Unfortunately for us, the weather was not at its best when we stayed in late March/early April, but we were lucky enough to be there for 5 nights and so we at least had 2 fabulous mornings when we were treated to the breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range from the comfort of our room. Our room (Camelia) was fabulously spacious and beautifully decorated in English country house style with a lovely seating area, and French doors onto a small balcony with magnificent views. The bathroom was enormous with roll top bath and huge walk in shower. We did not see any of the other rooms but all other guests seemed just as impressed with theirs, and we gather the views are wonderful from each and every room. The food was delicious with an imaginative and varied menu and, despite initial reservations, we really rather enjoyed the communal dining in the evening. It was very interesting to meet such a variety of people from all over the world. I think perhaps my husband was a little bored on the last evening being the only man at a dining table full of rather verbose women! There was plenty to keep us amused during our 5 night stay with a visit to the tea factory, walks around the estate looking at the flowers, birds and butterflies, a lovely (though quite tiring) hike to the river camp with a tasty meal when we arrived, and a day trip into Darjeeling. We could have done a lot more but, after the hustle and bustle of Kolkata, and because the gardens were so idyllic, we relished in the opportunity to relax, reading, chatting, playing cards and drinking plenty of Glenburn First Flush tea! All of the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, and hats off to the multi-talented Nilima and Luna for being such lovely and well-informed guides, but also for running the shop and helping with the organisation of the staff welfare programme, amongst a multitude of other skills. A very big thank you to Jemima, Holly and all the staff for a truly memorable and delightful stay........ We hope we will return one day.The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Incredibly friendly and helpful staff"
I recently stayed at the Cabochon for three nights, and found it to be a wonderful respite from the hectic pace of Bangkok, Love the city, but you need a break from it. I stayed in a queen suite with a private balcony and shower--was exactly as advertised--spacious, comfortable, all amenities provided that I need. Only critical comment would be that the shower is actually too hot--I had a hard time controlling the water temperature. Other reviewers have noted the various elements of the hotel--I only used the breakfast area (ate outside), and the a/c'd lounge area for happy hour. didn't use the restaurant or pool. What I found most welcome, other than the quiet respite from the city pace that the hotel provides, despite its location right off Sukhamvit, was the attitude of the staff. From my pre-arrival communication about the best was to get to the hotel from the airport during morning rush hour, to their assistance arranging for a 4:30 am cab and a breakfast box, the staff were superb. I've forgotten a few names, but Pom, Ticha, Nicky, the barman San, were just great. Friendly, solicitous, helpful--exactly what I wanted and received. Really first rate in my opinion,Amata Lanna: "Gorgeous boutique hotel"
"We were moved here as they needed to check the electric shower in our other hotel. It is a gorgeous boutique hotel very beautifully decorated in old Lanna style Thai decor with ornate wooden features . The staff are very welcoming and you are warmly greeted and offered a welcome drink in the small reception area. The rooms are all set around a pool and there are lots of little seating areas and a cute little path over a pond to the toilet. The room itself was decorated with plush Thai fabrics, wooden artefacts and had a beautiful, huge bathtub, where you could enjoy a candlelit bath. I loved bed that the bath and shower products were in pot bottles with stoppers instead of plastic and there was a cute little elephant soap dish with an elephant soap inside. The location is close to the hustle and bustle and near the nightmarkets but the hotel offers a tranquil respite from all the noise. It was lovely to sit outside at night as the lights from the pool and the garden made it very peaceful. We had to leave for an early flight to the airport and the staff arranged a taxi and for mango sticky rice and coffee delivered to our room before we left. I would definitely stay here again."Tugu Malang: "Extremely friendly staff"
"Beautiful hotel. Looks like museum. Compliment to the owner. We stay in the executive suite which was really beautiful at room 214. Very nice bathroom and comfortabel bed. Love the tiles in the bathtub. The spa is very good. Teatime with tea, coffee, jamu and very delicious javanese snacks for free every afternoon. The food in the restaurant is ok. Presentation very nice but taste is missing. We love the staff at the reception. Very nice conversations. Thank you Fahria, Lina, Sirmon and the others. Best wishes from Raymond and Audrey and we will come back"Sanak Retreat Bali: "Idyllic retreat"
Our family of four loved it here. Beautiful scenery, pool and the staff are so friendly, calm and wanting to make your holiday enjoyable. The food was excellent. We did the walk to the waterfall which was impressive and clean. We relished swimming under it after becoming hot from walking. And in the afternoon we all indulged in the most wonderful massages. My therapist was calming and such a sweet lady. Totally recommend this boutique retreat in the hills.Rachamankha: "Best stay in Chiang Mai"
"This was one of the most peaceful hotels that I have ever stayed in, it feels like a retreat where the soul is nourished away from the everyday hustle and bustle. The architecture, gardens and decor are amazing. In the morning someone comes to cut the grass with a pair of garden scissors instead of a lawnmower so the peace is just never disturbed. We had lovely meals in the restaurant and enjoyed every send of our visit and we will visit Thailand again for the third time just to stay in this hotel again."
