The Island lodge: "Gorgeous retreat along the Mekong River; exceptional staff"
Gorgeous retreat along the Mekong River. We stayed in one of the garden bungalows and had such a peaceful and lovely time after our frenetic few days in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel grounds are beautiful with wonderful landscaping of the lush, natural greenery. Breakfast is included and is taken in the open air lounge looking onto the pool and the river. The pool itself is beautiful with plenty of loungers and a good mix of sun and shade, and you can watch the Mekong River drift by as you enjoy a drink from the bar a few steps away. The staff at The Island Lodge really made the whole experience extra special - everyone was so kind and welcoming to my husband and I during our stay. Chau (the manager) was absolutely the best - she was so helpful and attentive to all of our requests, coordinating with her staff to ensure we were well taken care of the entire time. She gave us recommendations of local restaurants and some sightseeing places in My Tho, too, when we wanted to venture out, and helped arrange our transportation. The hotel is very secluded and a bit out of the way from the town and other attractions but for this kind of property I believe that is sort of the point. We chose to stay here for a few days between Ho Chi Minh and a river cruise leaving from Can Tho. I would highly recommend staying here if you plan to go to the Mekong Delta area (it’s worth a stay on its own, even if you DIDN’T already plan on coming to the area)!Heritage Suites Hotel: "Best hotel of our trip"
Our guide told us there are 400 hotels in Siem Reap, well I am pleased we stayed at heritage suites. We enjoyed the pick up in the old car and the welcome drink and towels. I had booked the basic room as we did not expect to spend much time in the room and was delighted to to escorted to one of the garden suites. We voted it the best room we had of all the rooms on our trip. The service of the staff was excellent. Enjoyed happy hour and a light lunch by the pool. We booked our tour of Angkor wat through the hotel and it was well worth it our guide was excellent and managed to make the tour as individual as possible and I did not feel one of the masses and his knowledge of the temples and his insight into Cambodia was superb. A wonderful end to our trip around Vietnam and Cambodia my only regret was that we only had two nights .Misool: "Paradise"
"Was my first time diving and I do t think I could have chosen a better world location. The trip was worth the length to go to a location where you can switch off from the world. If you want relaxation or adventure it has it all! Just happens to be in one of the most amazing locations in the world. GET THERE!"Satri House: "Lovely Sanctuary"
Pluses - Perfect in almost every way. Beautiful property. Lovely staff. The deluxe room was gorgeous & the attached balcony was a charming addition to the space. We tried the spa - that was very good too, both facial & the relaxing oil massage. For breakfast, even if you're not a noodle lover, do try the chicken noodle soup. It's delicious! And a great way to start the day, either before a day at the temples or after the dawn pilgrimage of watching the monks' procession. A nice 10-15min leisurely stroll to the town centre. Complimentary bicycles provided if you want to ride. Oh, and look out for the elephant in the open enclosure across the street from the property!Hotel Tugu Lombok: "Paradise found"
We had wonderful 5 nights at this quiet, luxurious resort: beautiful place, great villa, very clean and delicious meals. The hotel staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, all our wishes came true. We very much enjoyed our stay and are very sad that we could not stay longer.Goldhen Budha: "Our happy place"
"We have spent 6 days at Golden Buddha in December 2015 and it has been one of the best Holiday experiences so far. The location is fantastic, the staff and the management are very friendly and the whole atmosphere is very familiar and relaxed. Food, drinks and services (e.g. Thai Massage) are great and our Baan was also stunning. Hopefully we can come back one day."Nimmu House: "Beautiful hotel with friendly staff"
"The best place I have stayed in India in 4 months! The hotel is situated about 40 minutes from Leh and represents the nature of the area very well, while accommodating tourists in pleasant comfort. This means that it is very stylish designed, both modern and authentic. Also the place is surrounded by local people and even cows. The rooms came with all comfort and you can see that the staff puts in some extra effort to make it super comfortable. Food cooked is very special and delicious. There is plenty to discover in the surrounding area."Chakrabongse Villas: "Perfect oasis in Bangkok"
"I had a wonderful time staying at Chakrabongse Villas. I had hoped for a leafy enclave to get away from the bustle and pollution of Bangkok whilst still being well located to explore the city. It was that and much more. The private complex has an interesting history, and the setting gives views of the Grand Palace right across from its own section of the river bank. There is a traditional longboat and speedboat available for guests' use, whilst the Garden suite is well equipped with a very comfortable bed, and incense burning outside! The staff, however, made the trip for me. They were charming and friendly and made me feel completely looked after. I very much hope to return - thank you again to the team at Chakrabongse Villas."Inle Princess Resort: "Beautiful relaxing and serene experience"
The resort is built in traditional mynamar style with lots of teak everywhere! We had a garden cottage which looked out on to a lovely large pond covered in water lilies. The cottage itself was beautifully and tastefully furnished, if a little quirky! Being winter, the inbuilt chimena is lit in the evening if wanted. There is also a/c and ceiling fan. The bathroom is well appointed and the cottage also boasts an outdoor shower. Outside are sunloungers, armchairs and a table on a deck. Be aware, there is no TV or music system in the cottage. Occasionally you will hear a gecko or bird but other than that, we could only hear silence. There is a large restaurant serving both Mynamar and western dishes. In my opinion, the food is good but not outstanding. The hotel has a pool but it looked snd my toe told me, it was way too cold to venture in... I'm talking winter here!!! The resort is a perfect place from which to go exploring by long tail boat on Lake Inle. There are many interesting villages and pagodas in their 100s to see and, of course, the obligatory market selling anything and everything. We spent 3 nights here which i reckon is enough.David’s Kitchen: "Great food, wonderful host, fantastic experience"
This was a gem. David greeted us when we arrived and appeared genuinely interested in where we came from. Menu offered a broad range of dishes from local Thai to European fare. If you have guests who have different tastes, this is definitely the place to go. Service was personalized and attentive. Food was tasty and absolutely delightful. Great selection of wine and the bartender was accommodating to my partner's request for a specific drink mix. Chill environment amidst the high energy of old Chiang Mai. Reservations highly recommended.
