SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Amazing food and service"
We went for our anniversary and were treated amazingly. In addition to the fabulous food we ordered several additional special treats were brought out to our table. Wonderful experience and beautiful quiet setting. The Island Lodge: "Great little boutique hotel"
This was a great choice to stay before and after a river cruise on the mekong delta. The place was cozy with all you need: quality restaurant, spa and the most friendly and service-oriented staff. The place is tucked away pretty good so you want to have the driver pick you off at the airport.Satri House: "Tasteful and relaxing"
Stayed here in low season. Around a quarter full. Best time to go to Luang Prabang but, with the heat, it is still great to have Satri House to retreat to. Basically faultless: tastefully designed, lovely staff, two nice pools, great rooms, good breakfast. The setting is intimate, various buildings woven into the gardens. A few minutes by bike (free from the hotel) into the centre. The Hue House: "Foodie heaven"
"The Hue House, for us, was unforgettable. The food is incredibly fresh, imaginative and plentiful. The staff are attentive but unobtrusive. We shared several plates, all on the advice of management and could not have been more impressed. The mixed entree (my favorite) Banh thap cam was full of flavor and variety and so very fresh. The little dumplings stuffed with shrimp & pork, on top of the stuffed, fried dough were sublime. I say add Cuon diep, the BBQ'd spare ribs, to the list of must tries but really, everything we tried was delicious. Hue cuisine is steeped in tradition and we're wishing restauranteur Huy Tran all the best in this latest venture and please, please bring it to Australia."Slow Villas and Spa: "Déconnexion"
Maison Polanka: "Luxurious and subtle"
Maison Polanka has the kind of subtle elegance that never intrudes. It is beautiful, the rooms and grounds. It is intimate and yet private. You are totally taken care of in an unobtrusive way. And the food is excellent, some of the best we had in Southeast Asia. That said it seems excessive to say that the herbal massage I had (I had a chest cold) was an amazing experience. I reserved months in advance and it was totally worth it.Rachamankha: "Physically beautiful with a wonderfully helpful staff and great food."
We stayed there February 26 - March 1, 2018 to rest up from nearly three weeks in Myanmar and Bhutan. The room was handsomely appointed, well laid out and had excellent lighting. The wood beams and high ceiling of the room and the inner courtyard reminded me of the Monasterio in Cuzco Peru (minus the paintings of 16th century Spanish aristocrats). I mention the lighting because poor lighting seemed to be a common failure among other hotels on this trip through Myanmar and Bhutan. The restaurant was excellent with very attentive and responsive service. We would have no problem returning at any time.David’s Kitchen: "Perfect dinner in Chiangmai"
The food was amazing! I️ had the duck and it was cooked perfectly. David was so friendly and he even recommended some restaurants to us in Phuket. This is a first class restaurant! The Governor’s House: "Possibly the best boutique hotel in Asia"
" I found GH by accident, but I'm so glad I did. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and wasn't sure what to expect. Fortunately I'd picked well, Yin Yin (mgr) had organised the things I wanted to do, including some of the best restaurants in town. She and her team made us feel so welcome and the service was five star, even from the tuk tuk driver Raymond. The hotel is small, but beautiful and the staff really make you feel at home. They even made my wife a birthday cake, which made her day even more perfect. I've stayed in Raffles, which I can't fault, but if you want all the style and personal service at a fraction of the cost, look no further than the Governors House..."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Unique and goegeous, but the best part is the staff"
" really can't say enough about how much I loved my stay at the 4 Rivers Floating Lodge. It is a gorgeous place, relaxing and natural making for the perfect getaway. The tents are lovely and come with all the amenities you could want -- your own deck, a t.v., a cute wooden bathtub, lush robes and eco-friendly soaps. The setting is second to none, located on the Tatai river which blends jungle and palm trees seamlessly. The excursions they provide include firefly watching, a trip to the local waterfall, jungle treks (weather permitting) and kayaking in the mangroves. I made some great memories... The staff round out this great experience -- the excursion teams are great, the general manager is kind and attentive and the restaurant staff are warm and eager to please. Living in Cambodia, I know how difficult it can be staff urban hotels, let alone a property as isolated as 4 Rivers, so kudos to them. Note: Located on the river, you will encounter bugs (including gorgeous butterflies) so be prepared -- that said, I left without a single mosquito bite. This is also a relatively remote location which means the food choices (which are plentiful enough and delicious) won't be the same as in more populated areas. If you can't live without your phone/computer this place isn't for you since there is no wifi. "
