The Governor’s House: "Relaxing place into a colonial house"
"Cute 3-floors colonial house with a nice pool in the back of the hotel including chill-out terrace. 8 rooms only makes you feel like ""at home"". Room no. 1, next to the pool to be recommended. If you are lazy to go out, try restaurant. Notice choice of dishes at excellent quality at very affordable prices. I would recommend this hotel for short stays to PP traveling with friends or couples."Manda De Laos: "Wow, what a great restaurant"
Had a set menu with different Laos appetizers and mains to try. Nice portions and such beautiful taste and presentation. It was WOW! Highly recommend. Book earlyTugu Lombok: "Paradiso"
This place stunned me. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The staff was great and very helpful. Every single thing I ate at the resort was a total culinary pleasure. Breakfast on the beach, candlelit dinner on the rooftop, fresh juice by the pool. We went in the down season and it meant that we felt basically alone. Our room and private pool were so enchanting and the recovered and traditional artwork all over the resort really makes this place something special. Probably one of my favourite places I've ever stayed if you just want to escape. There is also a number of interesting things to do around the resort like visiting the Gili Islands or the volcano. A++Villa Mathis: "Graduation Holiday"
As a group of active teenagers graduating college, villa mathis was a nice retreat from our usual hustle and bustle. However when attempting to explore Bali, we found that villa mathis was a touch secluded, but this is not the blame of the villa at all. When we did explore, the staff would help arrange taxi's and suggest locations for any activity. The villa was of pristine quality and the staff were attentive and very helpful.Maduzi Hotel: "Worth every cent"
Stayed here for 4 nights. Despite noise coming from the roads outside with Hawkers peddling their street food, the hotel remain very tranquil and peaceful. Love their unique breakfast (not buffet style). Location wise, it's is within walking distance from Asoke BTS and Terminal 21. Just walk through exchange tower to get on the pedestrian bridge. Room is spacious with an extra large bed. However personally I would prefer firmer pillows with support. Otherwise, nothing to dislike about this hotel. Would definitely love to stay here again for my next trip to Bangkok.Maduzi Hotel: "Excellent service and hotel"
"We loved this hotel and was very, very delighted when we checked it. We found out that this hotel does not take walk ins and that made it all sweeter. Our room was spacious and the super king bed was fantastic. I was ill on the day of arrival but sleeping and resting on that bed made me feel better. Room service food was also excellent! Asok station is walking distance (10mins) and so is FoodLand, a 24 hour supermarket and food court! Awesome! We booked ala carte breakfast, food was good but wished the portion was a little bigger with more choices to choose from and well as more options of greens and breads. And really wished there was a pool too."Villa Mathis: "Un séjour extraordinaire"
Stayed September 2016, traveled with family"Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Annual pilgramage"
"At least once a year we make our way here. We do that because the service is impeccable (no hovering but everything appears exactly when you need it). The food is inventive yet grounded. (Yes, there are things you might call ""molecular"" but they don't abuse it or make it silly) It reflects local culture in interesting ways. (Every year they introduce me to something in Thai cuisine I was completely unaware of. This always results in my seeking it out in street carts or local restaurants later. Khao Soi, Khao Chai. Moo Palo). The win list is brillliant. This is not cheap ( by Thai standards), but would stand up to any NY, London or Singapore 5 start. Do NOT miss this. And stick your neck out if they have a la carte (they didn't this trip - it was a wonderful fixed menu). For example. Pork Blood Chocolate pudding. Sounds scary. It's heavenly. You only live once and that should be well fed."SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Sowing Superior Seeds"
Recommended by American foodies, we hoped to be wowed and were not disappointed. Lucia and Felix serve startling delicious food with subtle beautiful flavors. They started us with a tuna amuse bouche which sat on a bed of ground raw ginger and a lemony infusion elegantly plated with miniature greens and dollops of lemon crema. Friends enjoyed the crispy Mille feuille tuna and gazpacho both delicate and layered with subtle flavor. Salmon was glazed and crispy skinned with the promised hint of Asian flavor with a lemon cream swoosh and lightly steamed baby carrots and green onion. The sea bass on eggplant with a side of tiny roasted potatoes and garlic and rosemary. Nice cocktail selection and lovely wines. An extraordinary tasteful modern beautiful building inside and out siting in Inya Lake. A must gastronomically for any self respecting food snob. Also they are training a new worker population in the art of serving beautiful food attentively and correctly. An important contribution to Myanmar and Yangon as well as using so many products and materials made in this amazing country.Dewakan: "Great Birthday Treat!"
"Enjoyed every course served with great service. I was one happy birthday girl. It was exciting to wait and see how each dish was served, and all were creatively made. Completely different from anything I have ever eaten before, and would definitely love to go back! One thing though, the ambience doesnt give a fine dining feeling....I am sure that can be worked on."
