SUMMERTIME VILLA: "A delightful stay"
You want a piece of heaven, people say head to Goa. You want a piece of heaven, a place to call your own for few days, head to Summertime in Goa. For me, it was love at first sight. It is tucked in one of the by lanes of Calangute, away from the noise, has a small sprawling drive up to the main house and a private swimming pool to boast. It is built like a Balinese villa, is open, spacious and is extremely welcoming. It has an in house kitchen and a few hours’ notice the help can whip up delicious and scrumptious food. We had biryani, eggs and cold coffee. Yum!! It is close hustle and the bustle and yet offers peace and serenity which is so essential. The hidden and the real gem are the books shelves. They even have books in the chairs. And don’t miss the delightful and fun conversation with the owners. You just wouldn’t wanna leaveTiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Stunning views of Annapurnas"
"Loved this sanctuary at the foothills of the Annapurnas. The host was Super friendly and had dinner with us our first night. We had a villa just near the restaurant/bar which was quintessentially Nepalese. This is not for Budget travellers as the restaurant is on the expensive side and there's no where else in the immediate vicinity to dine. Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A very special place"
"We stayed at Neeleshwar only for one night. However it is an experience not to be missed. Every thing about it from the service ,the food , the staff - I do even remember their names, the yoga are amazing . We could have stayed much longer . The ambiance and the relaxation a day that will not be forgotten Hybeen Thomas"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Idyllic retreat"
"Just outside Pokhara, on a hilltop and away from the blare of the horns, it was just the break I needed in this stylish lodge in its idyllic setting. With probably the very best views of the Annapurna mountains the view from my bungalow across the valley to the Fish Tail Mountain was enchanting. It was a lovely clear morning, so certainly a wonderful way to start the day. I'd visited Tiger Mountain Lodge a few years earlier, so I was delighted to return again for a weekend. Marcus Cotton, owner of the hotel is excellent company and I enjoyed very much chatting with him over coffee, sitting on the terrace overlooking the magnificent views. (...) On my second morning, I was very glad I'd made the effort to get up at the crack of dawn to spend some time to admire the early morning sun and mountain views, and to stroll around the gardens birdwatching for an hour or so with Hari, one of the Lodge's three very knowledgeable resident nature guides. The staff here are attentive in the nicest, friendlies but unobtrusive way. I felt very spoilt, totally relaxed and was very sorry when I had to leave."Mume: "Dinner with Friends"
It looks private from outside, foods are delicious and creative. Not that much choice but delicious. It is worth to try.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "NOT SO EASY TO REACH – BUT HARDER TO LEAVE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO FORGET"
"One of my favourite hotels worldwide. Second time I've stayed here, and, 2 years on, the high standards are still maintained. Also it has become a more affordable option if you shop around on booking sites, making it better value. The service, the food, the uber-glamping ""tents,"" the friendliness of all staff and the unique and unbeatable location are superb - even more so when one considers the challenging logistics entailed in running a luxury boutique resort 30 minutes downriver from the nearest road. This is a place to go to relax. And if that is your intent, that is how you will leave...and then some! Special mention to Piphos on reservations for her rapid and efficient handling of my requests, and Paulo and Luz for their ever friendly and helpful service. My only minor criticism is that the onward taxi transfer prices are noticeably marked up from what you can arrange yourself. I don't readily award ""excellent"" in my reviews - I think the rating is seriously over-abused by TA reviewers. But this one is well deserved. Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"Cuca: "Oasis in Jimbaran"
Dinner at Cuca after reading review in a Dining Magazine. 3 adults and 3 children aged 14, 8 & 4 (Bit nervous!!!) Unfounded! Greeted and welcomed like family! Shown to our table and children immediately given colouring books, pencils and "kids" table setting including crockery and cutlery! Choose the degustation menu (I am Pescatarian) and was fully catered for without an issue. Each meal was out of this world! The taste, quality of produce was simply amazing! The mushrooms and scallops my favourite, the corn being my sisters favourite! All in all a beautiful meal and experience from start to finish. All staff attentive and made the night extra special! Would go back for lunch and dinner in a heartbeat! Would be amazing in the day sitting outside in the gardens! We will be back!Satri House: "serene-gem-with asian art and antiques and large rooms among asian gardens"
This property is a gem. It is close enough to town to walk yet far enough to provide quiet in a hidden beautifully decorated (with art and antiques) colonial landmarked property. The service was sublime - and I wish I could have just stayed for a few more days - or moved in..... The pool is set among the gardens - and the rooms are large, clean, and the decor makes one feel as if you are staying in a prince's palace. This is the opposite of a large cold global branded hotel. Thank you to Satri House for a fantastic holiday.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Wonderful meal!"
Very delicious food - loved all three courses. We made a request to swap a menu item from the other course, and they were very accommodating! The Cabochon Hotel: "See you soon! Cabochon"
"10 years ago I have stayed in the hotel run by the same owner as Cabochon's and it was an unforgettable experience, that's why after 10 years, I decided to spend a night here at Cabochon and hoped it was as great as the previous one, and it didn't disappoint. To me, people in the hotel are important, cause they are the ones who make you feel welcome and home, and staff at Cabochon is definitely warm and lovely, always having smiles on their cute faces. The hotel is undoubtedly beautiful, you really have to appreciate the owner's taste, I feel like a princess when staying in the room with all the antiques and retro vibe. The restaurant ""Thai Lao Yeh"" in the hotel serves good Thai food, too. My local friend who dined with us said it is authentic and delicious. With all the above mentioned, what's not to love about Cabochon? I hope next time I don't have to wait 10 years to go back, see you really soon, Cabochon. Stayed February 2017, traveled solo"
