Labyrinth: "An amazing culinary experience"
"Restaurant Labyrinth got a one-Michelin star in Singapore. As most people do not know what these stars mean, they would naturally associate it to taste and taste alone. Ambience: Comfortable and intimate setting. Tables are well-spaced out for privacy between customers. The size of the table is sufficient for the restaurant's style of service a couple of dishes at a time. Dining cutlery has a nice weight and feel to it, making the dining experience feel more posh. Drink glasses are clean and spotless. The lights are not positioned to the table (purpose-built) hence you have some tables that are more lighted on one end but poorly lit on the other. Moving forward, it would be great if they can get lighting consultant instead of regular general interior designers. Food: Having been to two 3-Michelin, three 2-Michelin and a few 1-Michelin starred restaurants, I would rate the taste as excellent. In fact, the culinary style of food is similar to The Fat Duck by Heston Blumenthal (Bray, England), where it is more of a culinary wonderland than anything else. These types of restaurants let you discover taste experiences that are out of this world. They play not only with flavours, but also texture and temperature. Honestly, I would rate the food at Restaurant Labyrinth better in terms of taste. It is amazing how they made the ""chilli crab"" taste exactly the way it should taste but appearing like the a crab on sand, with cold ice-cream. Your mind will be blown away as your brain juggles the totally new experience to a very familiar taste. Imagine that experience, multiply that with the number of dishes as each course will give you a new perspective. It is such a delight. Service: This is where they lacked a lot. One thing 3-Michelin starred restaurants have in common, the service team makes you feel as though you are the VIP of the day. It is amazing how they manage to do it every single time. Despite having other tables, the staff to diner ratio is amazing. The staff at Restaurant Labyrinth is friendly and warm, but it is not too easy to get their attention as they are busy with other diners. They had to be more reactive (instead of proactive) because they are tied down with other tasks that are ongoing at the same time. Overall: From my dining experience at Restaurant Labyrinth, I would have given them 2-Michelin stars as they were not just ""the best in their category"", but they were ""excellent and worth a detour"". I hope they work on the staffing, the service level and lighting to improve the experience. The food is simply amazing and it is really worth your money and detour (if that applies to you)."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Perfect for relaxing break"
Stayed two nights at the floating lodge 25-27th August. The staff are very helpful and the tents are luxurious. There is nothing better than to wake up in the morning to the sunshine and the river just outside. Great after the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. The Island Lodge: "Perfect….except for the kids"
"From the moment you arrive until you leave you will be delighted with your stay here. The reception is a really nice touch especially with the owners both greeting you and welcoming you to the hotel. The rooms are spotless and the facilities very good. We had a river view double which has a great view of both the pool and the river. By far the highlight has to be the food. It is exceptional and very reasonably priced considering the isolated nature of the hotel. The hotel offers it's own various boat trips on the river for a variety of lengths and budgets and the your guide provided is very good. We had a massage on our last night which was by far the best we had during our holiday in Vietnam. Our only issue was that this sort of tranquil place should be adults only. There were a few kids staying during our stay who were quite annoying. In my opinion it's just not the sort of place where you expect to get hit by a ball from the pool when trying to relax. If children are of the age where all they want to do is play with a ball in the pool I don't understand why a parent would insist on dragging them around the world to do that when Benidorm or Tenerfie would be more suitable. It's not exactly as if they are taking in the local culture. The staff did approach the parents which calmed them down for a bit. I understand it must be difficult to turn away custom but I think the hotel would benefit long term by having a minimum age limit. Regardless, we loved this hotel and the owners and all the staff are great and I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting South Vietnam and the Mekong Delta."Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Heaven in Mrauk U"
From Sittwe, you must take a boat. Please don't think about this as something you need to do before getting to where your holiday starts. Make the boat ride the adventure. Mrauk Oo Princess Resort has a lovely boat, where you and your friends can relax and witness life on the water as you pass by remote villages, pagodas and breathtaking views. We arrived at night with the whole resort lit up by lovely lights. Stunning. The staff was so incredibly friendly and the food was exceptional. I actually prefer Mrauk U to the more touristy Bagan. One has some beautiful archeological sites to visit from Temples to ancient Pagodas. The highlight of my trip was the sunrise and sunset that Mrauk Oo organized for us. I was not sure what to expect, but was up at 5am and was taken by car to a pathway that was a 10 minute hike to a very old Pagoda that had the most amazing view, with only my group around, we got to the top and coffee/tea and croissants were awaiting us, as the sun came up over this beautiful land. Our sunset was from a different location, the climb was a bit steeper but just as rewarding. Champaign was served instead of coffee. I felt very spoilt. For a slice of Myanmar paradise away from the hectic touristy spots, this is by far my favorite place in a long time.Maduzi Hotel: "beautiful room"
beautiful spacey room espresso machine, free minibar, which is refilled every day. walk in dress room. and the best of all is the great private infinite jacuzzi pool. amenities are special quality made in thailand and their smell fills the whole room. staff was also helpful giving me upgrade to deluxe room.Maduzi Hotel: "Our Bangkok oasis"
"We have stayed here numerous times and we'll keep coming back for more. The location is second to none, perfectly located right near the ever so efficient BTS, ASOK station, yet you feel as though you're In your own little oasis once you walk through the gates. (Do yourself a favour and buy a 'Rabbit Card' so you can jump on and off the transport system with ease and enjoy all that this vibrant city has to offer). The staff are always happy to assist with anything you require (btw, they won't accept any tips, it's their policy - no matter how hard you try.) The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully appointed. The mini bar is included in the price of the room too, another quirky yet welcome Maduzi offering. Breakfasts are delicious! We almost always get the Japanese set breakfast. You can enjoy this in their fabulous restaurant where you'll also have a buffet to pick from, all inclusive. Or, you can order it to your room and they'll put together a buffet selection for you. Yes, this is a small boutique hotel with only 40 rooms and 7 levels, no pool or laundry (you can get the hotel to organise your washing for you) but the beautiful ambiance all around, central location and friendly staff make up for the lack of amenities. We'd choose this place over any of the big guys any day!"Talabgaon Castle: "Unreal Experience"
"My wife and I recently visited this resort on our trip from San Francisco and could not have been happier with our stay. It is a beautiful property and the staff could not have been more hospitable. The grounds were beautifully maintained, the rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, and the food was fantastic. We stopped here for a night in between Agra and Jaipur. It is in the countryside so it is a very tranquil and peaceful setting when compared to the city. We were treated like royalty at this 200+ year old castle that was recently restored to this beautiful resort. The resort sits on 100 acres with expansive lawns, a pool, gardens, and a polo field. It is a perfect place to spend a night or two to unwind and get way from the hustle and bustle of India. 5+ stars across the board. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Manda De Laos: "Great food and setting"
My wife and I visited the restaurant and enjoyed a really nice meal. The Lilly Pond is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely return.Manukan Island Resort: "Really worth the price and best ever for manukau island!"
We booked a hillside villa and the view is amazing! It’s nearer to the resorts private beach and far from the public beach which has a lot of tourists during daytime. The hillside villa is a cozy and clean and tidy bungalow. The only thing I wouldn’t like much in the island I think is the sunset point, which we walked for approx. 1/2 hour but just couldn’t see the sunset as the sun was covered by the cloud! And I have forgotten to bring the torch light so we have to walk in the dark in the forest trail! Other than that everything is so perfect and terrific! I give it a five star!Locavore: "Wow"
We did the 7 course degustation with drink pairing, it wasn't just eating dinner, it was an amazing experience, I am so glad I decided to go all out and get the full experience, hardest part was choosing whether to go standard of vegetarian menu. Luckily I was with friends so got to sample both
