Glenburn Tea Estate: "Amazing Location"
"We stayed in 'the bungalow' which was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable with the added bonus of wonderful scenery. The food and service in our own delightful dining room in front of a roaring log fire was perfect. The only major downside is the TERRIBLE access to Glenburn. I live in the country down an unmade up track and have a 4 X 4 to cope with our own tracks and lanes however, the 10 kilometre track that takes an hour each way (I was highly amused to see another review claiming it takes 30 minutes, this would only be possible if they flew!) to Glenburn is worse than 'challenging', it can only be likened to a steep dried up ancient river bed! My husband and I both suffer with arthritis and this journey very nearly killed us off. Such a pity as otherwise everything else was perfect!"Satri House: "simply stunning"
"we loved the 5 nights we spent at satri house. the staff is just so great. lovely breakfast options. and the rooms are tastefully designed. the property is beautifully designed and we loved the art and artefacts strewn across the place.just delightful!!! totally worthy of recommending!!! Stayed January 2017, traveled with friends"Tugu Lombok: "SPECTACULAR!"
"Upon arrival at Hotel Tugu even though we had never stayed there or met we were treated like old special friends. From that moment on the customer service just kept getting better. We stayed with our 2 children aged 6 & 8 in an 2 room villa with 2 amazing outdoor bathrooms. Hotel staff arranged 3 separate tours - 1 to the Islands snorkelling and exploring, one horse drawn cart through the local streets and also a visit to local schools to experince some Lombok culture. Nothing was too much trouble. Despite only having 1 main restaurant, they offer an exceptional menu that offers different specials every evening. Also with an option to eat anywhere on the resort at anytime - beach, room, roof top, garden setting etc. The photo's do not do the hotel justice - the experience of being immersed in the local artwork, manicured gardens and pristine beach was phenomenal . Offering everything from paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkelling, beach table tennis and swings were all inclusive. The 2 pools were a perfect for swimming all day! It was quiet and allowed us the time to chill and unwind. The staff worked like a real team - knowing everything about us and being there when we needed without feeling like they were on top of you. Having a large selection of board games kept us all entertined and occupied when we were not participating in the many activities mentioned above. This was truly an amazing experience."Muang La Lodge: "Séjour Inoubliable"
"Nous venons de séjourner pendant trois jours dans ce lodge et n'avons rien à redire. La manager Raphael gère cet hôtel avec excellence. Grande attention à chacun de ses clients. Notre chambre était spacieuse, propre et décor avec beaucoup de goût. Les repas excellents et les serveuses adorables. Nous vous le conseillons si vous passez dans cette région."Villa Song Saigon: "Excellent"
The environment is great, the food is nice and staffs are friendly. There was a musical function at night during our stay, they provided us a round trip free taxi ride to district 1 for dinner. The boat ride to the city center is one of the great experience.Villa Song Saigon: "Luxurious Hotel and Great Chef"
"I've started to miss Villa Song very much. We normally have a weekend there to escape from busy noisy down town, and get relaxing after heavy working days. It was pity that our last asking to stay there on the weekend of 12-13 August was unsuccessful, because ""our"" room 203 was occupied. It made me miss the sunset over the balcony to the river, dinners prepared by Chef Kevin with lots of creative tastes and caring. I really enjoy the room with the big bath room served with nice bathtub, and separate shower, and really comfortable bed under nice temperature. Last of not least, I can tell the foods made by Chef Kevin are the best in town. We can feel his heart on the dishes, his caring for the wine pairing. Kevin and the staff always make us the most warm welcome ambiance. We really feel like home there."Satri House: "Just perfect"
My friend and I have just had five fabulous days in Luang Prabang, Satri house was just perfect the hotel is just stunning mixing old charm with beautiful gardens and is just so peaceful. We had a room near the small pool on the ground floor which was very comfortable and well serviced with a lovely large bathroom. All the staff were so helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble and everyone took time to talk to us each day. We felt very welcome and at home there. We used the spa which was very relaxing and the restaurant, where the food was amazing, but more expensive than the good places in the town and very quiet. If you want peace and quiet and the bonus of being able to walk or jump in a tuk tuk for the short ride into town then this hotel is ideal. It doesn't have super modern bathrooms and shiny TV,s or an expansive breakfast buffet with endless services. However it has wonderful staff with great service in a beautifully decorated boutique environment that more than exceeded our expectations. I know what I prefer and we will be back because of this.Jing’s Residence: "Fantastic Hotel! Fantastic Service!"
"We decided to visit Pingyao based on Lonely Planet recommendations (Pingyao is famous as a walled city and well-known for its local goods). So glad we did! This hotel was the best during our China/HK holiday. It is an oasis in an otherwise dusty and remote location. The room and facilities is top notch although don't expect to watch TV as there is none except in the guest lounge. You won't miss it though as the hotel offers spa treatments; noodle making and paper cutting classes. We were able to relax in the guest lounge with complimentary afternoon tea. All tea and delicacies (we had eight bean treasure one day and a type of porridge the next) are locally produced and were delicious. The restaurant is great for both breakfast and dinner with a wide selection available. Loved the scrambled eggs Chinese style on a bed of steamed rice for breakfast. Personal service and attention from all the staff is second to none but especially from the resident manager, Imam, who is outstanding. He was always available to assist or ensure our needs were being met and popped up magically as we would pass through the lobby area. On our final morning of our stay he took us on a personal tour of a ruined courtyard giving us a tremendous insight into how the locals lived many years ago as well as escorting us to a local shoe manufacturer. We would definitely stay here again and the hotel and friendliness make this place worth the detour to Pingyao itself! "MesaStila: "Wonderful Relaxing Family Vacation"
"My family (wife, toddler and an infant) spent 3 days at MesaStila over the 2015 Chinese New Year. The facilities are wonderful and even with 3 nights stay we did not have enough time to enjoy all the amenities. Our 20 month old daughter loved the opportunity to run free in the grass and splash away in the shallow section of the pool. (...)The staff were very friendly and helpful with all requests. A wonderful time in a wonderful place."The Village House: "Your own little village"
"I loved our stay at the Village House! First, just to make it clear, the Village House is NOT in the actual city of Kuching. It’s in Santubong Village, which I believe was about a 30 minute cab ride from Kuching. I didn’t experience much of Kuching, but I can tell you that being outside of the city felt very nice to my girlfriend and I. As we arrived during low season, my girlfriend and I had this wonderful little place virtually to ourselves. The rooms are not large and somewhat basic, but they were still comfortable. If you are a late starter or like to lounge in your room during the day, the rooms do get quite hot. A better option is to read, work, or internet surf by the pool and take an occasional dip to keep cool. The pool….beautiful. It’s not huge so I am unsure what it is like in high season, but my girlfriend and I shared some wonderful experiences there, including taking a swim during a tropical rainstorm. The design of the property is wonderful and it really does give you a feel that you are in your own village. It is well maintained and cared after by the staff. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even for my sometimes demanding partner…oi! But I digress…they always did a nice job arranging transportation. We actually arrived when the governor of Sarawak had passed away so several companies stopped running in acknowledgment of the passing. This left us stranded on one excursion. But the staff stopped what they were doing and provided us transportation themselves. That was very kind and we were very grateful. Activities are not too far away. As a matter of fact, for some you are much closer than you would be in Kuching, like the Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching Wetland National Park, Mt. Santubong, and the AMAZING Bako National Park. I highly recommend the Village House for your stay, especially if you are looking for a peaceful little haven. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"
