Locavore: "Not just for the sophisticated palate."
At first blush I didn’t think I would enjoy this refined restaurant experience. But what an amazing evening it turned out to be. We chose the seven course meal without the wine pairing but we only made it through the first five before we were too full to continue. The waitress talked us into the five or six part dessert which was unbelievable. Please refer to their website for a complete description of the courses I would never do it justice. It is a must stop if you visit ubud Bali. thank you so much to the chef for all his hard work and to the waitresses for the service beyond compare.Cuca: "Stunning – Bali at its best"
This is worth the visit no mater how far u need to travel. Try and sit at the bar and watch the staff cooking preparing with loveSanak Retreat Bali: "Jamais deux sans trois"
"My wife and I had dinner and we were there in the early evening so had no trouble getting a table. This restaurant serves Khmer fusion which took us by surprise in that the dishes were visually stunning and amazing to eat - flavoursome with texture things going on, just brilliant. Not to be missed."MesaStila: "Another wonderful stay at Mesa Stila"
Another wonderful stay at Mesa Stila this Easter. We cannot rate this place highly enough. The staff go out of their way to take care of you, the setting is stunning, delicious food, beautiful villas, an amazing spa. This time we made the effort to do some exercise in the stretch and aquafit classes and were very grateful to Agus and Anam for pulling us into shape! Our thanks to the chefs for giving us the recipes to our favourite dishes, for Rosy and Slamet our lovely drivers, for Erni and her wonderful team in the spa and to Lily for answering all questions Indonesian. If you have a bucket list Mesa Stila should be on it!Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A resort well deserving a mention on trip advisor"
"Excellent staff lead by a very competent manager who made an effort to speak to guests at breakfast. It gave an opportunity to voice any outstanding issues in person( not that there was any ) Fine breakfast esp Indian food. Appam (indian pancake ) was made on request. Rooms were very clean well looked after . Every evening the room was turned over , mosquito coils set up and water and a bottle of local drink provided. The ambience was of a rural setting with soft lighting to guide us at night to our cottages. Tastefully decorated to a high standard. The landscaping was very appealing. Fine clean clear blue open air swimming pool that was just right for cooling off and swimming. The waiter service was infallible . Very polite English speaking staff made it all the more delightful. Very good avurvedic treatment with in house doctor for advise. In house tailor who can complete a shirt in lass than 24 hrs. Security was good day and night as I found out when walking alone by the beach. Crows are regular visitors at breakfast time and by the swimming pool. But well kept out the guests tables by a very astute guard who used a special technique to scare them away without any harm . The sandy beach is very hot to sun bathe . The sea water is a little unclear but warm and safe to swim. Sometimes the waves can be bigger than usual and hotel uses coloured flags to inform the safety condition of sea to guests. A few go to swim as most stay by the pool. This is a hotel worth a visit . Recommend at least a week for peace and sanity ! Room Tip: Facing the sea single cottage"The Hue House: "Beautiful view and great food"
Would 100% recommend going here! You get a great view of the city, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is great got the Nam Neung and had a couple of cocktails. The staff are great. Talked to dickey who made our first day in Ho Chi Minh amazing! The Village House: "A little bit of Borneo"
"We visited for 2 nights from Kuala Lumpur to see a little of Borneo. The booking process was really smooth, and we had lots of advice on which trip to book. We arrived late on a Friday and the taxi the hotel had arranged was waiting for us to whisk us to the hotel. About an hours drive. We booked the suite which is a large room, decorated in a local style but all the mod cons, so to speak. Comfortable large bed with a large screen TV at the base. Good coffee machine, and large bathroom. Everything we could need. Saturday morning we went to Bako National park with a guide arranged by the hotel – we had a great day, he knew where to find all the local species of monkey! Saturday evening we had the 8 course tasting meal, which was delicious and not too much, although we had been walking all day! The beach at the end of the road is worth a stroll along, it is beautiful. As others have said, not somewhere you’d stop to sunbathe. The staff were charming, the bar was a great place to grab a drink before and after dinner. It is a quiet hotel, but it’s perfect for a short break."The Island Lodge: "Delightful respite"
"We totally enjoyed our overnight in Mekong Delta at The Island Lodge. We arrived mid-afternoon, about the hottest time of day but felt cool and relaxed as soon as we stepped off our boat. The staff was professional and very helpful in dealing with a passport/visa issue. The room was very clean, well layed out and the decor was ever so tasteful. We were able to make last-minute arrangements for spa treatments in spite of the late time of our arrival. The grounds are well-kept and provided a delightful area to meander and relax. Our dinner orders were taken upon arrival which, while unusual, did allow us to make a special request for extra small portions as we have small appetites. We were especially happy to be presented the requested small portions of each dish and were delighted by the wonderful meal. A special mention to the chef! While English is not spoken fluently by everyone on staff, that only added to the charm as we recognize we speak only five words of Vietnamese. Communicating is part of the adventure of traveling. We enjoyed a short conversation with the owners who, it is clear, love what they have created and seem to want to ensure their guests have the best experience. The only thing I found a bit less-than-perfect is the volume of the A/C unit. Normally I do not like to sleep with the A/C on but the temperatures made that impossible. Each room has its own unit which is loud enough that we were not able to enjoy the normal night sounds through the screened openings which, during our visit, consisted of thunder and socializing geckos. I definitely recommend this property if you have the opportunity to stay in the Mekong Delta."Villa Song Saigon: "Top Boutique Hotel"
Our trip to Vietnam concluded with three nights at the Villa Song a delightful French Colonial Villa converted into a five star hotel situated next to the river. Everything about this hotel oozes class and the staff, food and accommodation were excellent. The hotel has its own motor launch which we took advantage of to visit the floating temple, a great experience and not to be missed, add to that the complementary shuttle service to the centre of Saigon, the free mini bar and breakfast availability at any time of the day and really I can't imagine there is a better place to stay if visiting Saigon
