Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Unexpected luxury"
"This is a lovely boutique hotel that sits on Inle Lake. The service was wonderful, the staff friendly and helpful. All of our meals were included in the price of the room and the food was excellent. Our room opened onto the lake - very peaceful and the room was luxurious. The hotel has a program where it is training young men and women to work in the hotels with tourists. The student's education is at no charge. In addition the owner is trying to reintroduce Bumese cats into the country. About 39 cats are maintained on the property in a very nice inclosure. We opted for a guide, Min Min Tun, mmt.inle12061977@gmail.com, to shows us around the lake. We found this very helpful as it enabled us to see more then the usual tourist spots. I would return to this lovely place again and again. Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent"MesaStila: "Relaxing Stay"
"MesaStila is a wonderful place to relax. You basically come here to stay and enjoy all the activities and facilities. We loved the pool, the coffee plantation, biking around, having afternoon tea (included), our morning jog and yoga classes. They provided other classes and activities which we did not have a chance to participate in (batik, Javanese dance, TRX, village tour, etc.) Honestly I enjoyed this stay, the rooms were great. We loved our room with the massive turquoise bathtub! The food is pretty good, the coffee is pretty good and the service is excellent. The staff was super polite. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"VILLA SONG SAIGON: "An oasis of calm amidst the madness of Saigon"
"Yega and his team make every effort to make a stay at the Villa Song a memorable occasion. They are extremely warm, professional and hospitable and the hotel is in a spectacular setting on the banks of the Saigon river. There was a wedding on when we were staying. We were naturally concerned given we had two young children with us and we were worried that the noise would prevent them sleeping. The staff were extremely accommodating however, gave us an excellent recommendation for a dinner location nearby (to which they paid the taxi) and ensured that the noise from the wedding was not excessive. We were keen to eat in the restaurant as we heard great things about the food- however we didn't get the chance because of the wedding... next time, we hope. well worth a stay. "Maduzi Hotel: "Excellent"
Maduzi Hotel is a charming boutique hotel that has its customers in mind in every minute detail. Allow me to share what's excellent in this hotel: 1. Location - near the BTS Asok station and Terminal 21, just 5 minutes walking distance. 2. Flexible - hotel can adjust the time of your check out; this is especially good if you're catching an evening flight. 3. Big spacious and cozy room with a comfortable king size bed and fluffy pillows. Just note that the toilet / bathroom are open and do not have a door. 4. Complimentary mini bar that they replenish daily! This hotel is very generous. 5. Complimentary drinks can be claimed any time during your stay, and also unlimited hot / cold drinks at the bar which is perfect after a long day outside touring or shopping. This is always a welcome treat! 6. Jacuzzi a plus, though the hotel does not have a swimming pool facility but every little detail and care in this hotel compensates for the lack of it. 7. Staff is very helpful and commendable for giving excellent customer service. 8. Breakfast menu is varied and plated well, with unlimited salad and fruit bar. 9. You must try their vegetable shot offered during breakfast! They offer a concoction of fresh vegetable juices for US$1.5 per glass. This hotel is commendable, worth staying and recommending!Samanea Beach Resort: "peaceful and clean"
"overall this was a great place for us to stay, after travelling throughout Cambodia we found this to be perfect to relax and enjoy our down time. only a short ride into town and resort manager was so good she rang us tut tuts with no extra charge and they were there quickly breakfast is just yummy and fresh"Tugu Lombok: "Spectacular hotel, location, food & staff! Couldn’t ask for more"
"Absolutely amazing 3 days at Tugu Lombok. Beautiful beach front hotel with the most friendly and attentive staff. Sharon and team are fabulous. Food is superb. Rooms are tastefully decorated with Indonesian art- each room/ villa is unique. Never had a bigger or better bed! Two large pools and plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas on the beach. It feels very private and personal. I am very hard to please- this hotel definitely stands out. Will be going back for sure."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Heaven on Earth"
We stayed 3 nights and arrived yesterday back in Phnom Penh and today I wish we were back in the tranquility of 4 Rivers. We have travelled all over Asia and met many wonderful people but the people at 4Rivers are absolutely the BEST. I wasn't sure about staying in a floating tent plus it was a 5 hour car ride but it was worth it and so glad to have this experience. The manager greeted us upon arrival and the moment I met her, I felt that we were with friends as that is how she and the entire staff make you feel. The tour guides were fantastic and they shared their personal lives with us and it was so great to actually see a member of the staff home and meet his family. The trip over to the village was fantastic as this is real life and they happily shared it with us. I could write a whole page about our wonderful experience but better yet....spend a few days with the most wonderful hosts. I also would like to thank the chef and entire kitchen staff for the fabulous food that they served us each day with was a 5 star cuisineMisool Eco Resort: "Paradise"
After 8 flight connections and a 4 hour boat ride from the US, this place was just paradise! The passion that these 2 individuals have for this area of the world is evident in their respect and protection of the ecobalance of nature...from the use of only fallen logs for the buildings and furniture to the use of natural bacteria and plant life to filter the water services. The food was wonderful with a local influence and nice variety. The staff were from the surrounding and some far away villages and so very friendly. (...) Our dive guides on our boat, Marafel and Ferry, were so great to hang out with. So fun and friendly, and knowledgeable of the reefs and fishes! They even rescued our camera after we got excited with the mantas on our safety stop. Even though we don't know their names, all the behind the scenes staff were wonderful in making this vacation so relaxing and exciting at the same time! Even if you're not a diver, the house reef is wonderful for snorkeling and the view from the water cottages is breathtaking! We would go back in a heartbeat and I urge you to go and see this piece of paradise for yourself!! Terri F., St Jacob, ILTugu Lombok: "secluded paradise"
"We spent 7 nights at Hotel Tugu in an Aloon-Aloon villa. The place is wonderful. White sandy beach, spacious grounds and excellent food. This is not a large hotel by the nimber of rooms but the ""rooms"" are all quiet, spaced out dwellings. The aloon-aloon villas have their own small private garden but it was not needed the ground were so large you coud sit anywhere and be undisturbed. There were beds on the beach for quiet relaxation antd the sea was warm and shallow so very safe. The hotel is quite out of the way, about 2 hours from the airport, but once you get there there is no need to leave. Everything is qeitly understated. The rooms are decorated with local art and there are artifacts everwhere that seemed like they ought to be in a museum. Don't expect a trouser press and an airconditioned restaurant. You eat outside in a thatched roofed dining hall, just stunning. The atmosphere is so relaxing, no need to dress for dinner, just wash off the sunscreen and add a little insect repellant (probably not needed) and enjoy youselves. This is a special hotel but not if you want nightlife."Locavore: "Spectacular Food, Great Cocktail Pairings, Beautiful Service"
"This is absolutely a place to be highly recommended. We went for the seven course meal with cocktail pairings and were definitely not disappointed. The restaurant is located on a busy street in the center of Ubud but inside its an oasis of quiet and style. Before the actual seven course meal started several amuses were served, all highly innovative, delicious and interesting. The menu changes regularly and I think there's little point going over the individual dishes but here's a couple of things to note: - There's a seven and a five course meal. If you are not a big eater five might be more than enough since there will also be some amuses and extras. - The restaurant does an all-vegetarian variety of the seven/five course meal. In case you can't choose, it's perfectly fine to have one and your partner the other. Courses are served at the same time but do come with other cocktail pairings. - The cocktail pairings are really a treat. However don't think of them as regular cocktails, more like smaller/less potent versions (so you won't be completely drunk at the end of the evening). - If you rather have wine with your meal the restaurant has an interesting wine list. - - Cocktail pairings for two equal roughly two bottles of house wine to give you an indication of prices. - We paid about four million Indonesia Rupiah (or four hundred Singapore dollars). For that we had two cocktails to start with, one veg and one non-veg seven-course meal, plus cocktail pairings. Absolutely worth it."
